  • Can't wait for our return visit!

"We love Hale Mahina and were lucky to find the Shell Condo! The hosts are honest, accommodating, and are doing a beautiful job keeping their condo up to date and lovely. Can't ask for a better view or a better home away from home. The other guests are friendly and fun too. We feel so lucky to be returning in a few weeks - we can't wait! Aloha"

  • Well appointed, well represented on website

"Really nice, smaller condo complex. Enjoyed time in the condo, lanai, and property. Good support services, stores nearby. View was awesome, well organized and considered. Highly recommend..except for future dates, when we want to go back."

  • Excellent Condo, Building, Grounds and People

"I was really impressed by a lot of things associated with this condo and building. In no particular order, some excellent characteristics are: the amazing view from the expansive patio window and balcony; an elevator; a very kind and friendly caretaker on site; immaculate grounds; soft sandy beach and sandy safe ocean (a bit of flat rock but easy to see and avoid stepping on); really nice pool and hot tub at perfect temperature; palm trees; turtles; decent snorkelling; great SUP and surf waves (maybe not all times of the year but it was great when we were there in December); safe secure condo area. The condo itself was well stocked, I can't say I ever felt anything was lacking. Even had a slow cooker and wow that sure helps to make quick and easy dinners! Modern furnishings, very comfortable couches for lounging. Stylishly decorated with beautiful artwork in a laid-back modern style, and lots of interesting books to read (and guidebooks of Maui). Easy to keep clean with tile throughout. I was worried about our family having to share 1 bathroom but having the sink/vanity/laundry separate with a door from the toilet/shower was the perfect scenario and it worked out well for us because of this unique configuration for the bathroom - a big plus! Someone can be showering and someone else can still brush their teeth etc... There are some basic coffee shops and place for food and a local market within decent walking distance, and some cute shops as well. The condo fronts onto the ocean and backs onto the parking lot and Lower Hono'opilani Road, at Winter break the road was busy and can be noisy in the back bedroom, but in all honesty I'm a light sleeper and I noticed the traffic noise but it didn't affect my sleep - very little traffic after 10pm. There was a very diverse crowd staying at the other condos in the building: families with young kids, families with teenagers, couples of all ages, and elderly. Everyone was extremely friendly, respectful and kind to eachother and just plain happy to be there. We've stayed at a lot of different condos in Maui and this is the first I would say honestly I'd stay here again, the blend of value, location, surfable waves, nearby amenities, beautiful beach and view, cleanliness and vibe/kindness - this is what has sold me on Hale Mahina. I highly recommend this building, in particular this condo and owners."

  • We loved this spot

"We stayed for a week here with our two young adult children and could not have been happier. The location is perfect with Kapalua/Napili very close to the north, and Kaanapali a very short distance to the south. We actually walked each morning to the beach path that goes along the beach in front of all the Kaanapali hotels. We did explore other beaches, but the one right in front of the condo was as nice or better than any of the famous ones. We saw more sea turtles in front of the condo than anyplace else we went in Hawaii, including resting on the beach in front every day. Lahaina is a few minutes drive to the south, but we liked this area even more. Everything we needed was provided in the condo. A trip to Costco gave us supplies to eat many meals there and save a lot of money. Breakfast on the lanai each morning watching the turtles swim by was priceless. The complex is very quiet and encourages this atmosphere, so this is not a place for people looking to have a wild time partying. For those of us looking for a nice place to relax, and go to bed and get up early to enjoy, it was perfect. Steve and Suzanne"
