"The property is immaculate and cozy. The gated pool is small, but great for kids or a sunbather that just wants a cool-off dip (not to mention that the beach is right in front of it.) A nice area has several gas grills for use and there's a recycling area just to the right of the office. It's no smoking, but there's a smoking tent on the property that's quite inviting if you're a smoker. Friday pupus by the pool (prepare your own and bring them down) offer a chance to meet residents and vacationers alike and learn to blow the conch shell at the setting sun.
The unit is well furnished with private bedrooms, making it a nice choice for two couples or a family with older children, as one bedroom is upstairs and there isn't a tub in either bathroom. The living room has comfortable furniture and a flat screen TV, though who comes to Maui to watch television? We enjoyed the stereo hooked up to our phones while we looked at the stars or ocean from the lanai. The kitchen has anything you could want for cooking tools -- my son is a chef so he's rather picky... first trip where we didn't have to buy something. Be sure to check the pantry that is right to the left of the kitchen and don't mistake it for a wall. That's where we found coffee filters. Stop at the unit first, because there were a lot of ingredients we would have bought that were already available. We left behind Cajun seasoning and sesame oil and each person that cooks their likely leaves something the next tenant can use. The cooktop is a little tricky as the knobs don't necessarily turn the way you expect them to for low to high, so look at the eye before setting your pot down. The condo also offered some little extras such as beach supplies (chairs, umbrella, a cooler, boogie boards, some snorkel gear) and I was happy to find cleaning supplies as well! The lanai offers a stunning view of the ocean, frolicking sea turtles, and brilliant stars.
The owner is super awesome to work with, especially since a hiccup resulted in my need to change the dates of our booking. He was nothing but accommodating and helpful.
The location is great for exploring many of Maui's treasures, though a bit of a haul from Haleakala Crater or Hana Highway, but perfect for trips to Lahaina and the harbor that many water excursions depart from. It's walking distance to several shops, restaurants, and a farmer's market that's every Mon/Wed/Friday 8-11. I would choose this property again."
