  • A TRULY WONDERFUL MONTH IN MAUI

"we spent the month of January, 2016, in unit 546, HOKULANI BUILDING at HONUA KAI CONDO RESORT. there were two of us, my husband and myself, for most of the month with a 5 day visit from my daughter and a 6 day visit from my husband's son. since i am a clean-nut, i can honestly report that this unit was in mint condition and obviously cleaned from top to bottom prior to our arrival. Michelle is the Manager/Contact on the Island and represents the owner who lives on the "mainland." i cannot sing the praises of michelle highly enough. we had the unit cleaned 3 times during the month and michelle took care of all the details involved in having that done. she is competent, capable and attentive. i can't imagine the owner doing a better job. michelle took care of any and all concerns in a very responsible and timely fashion (and there weren't that many but stilll, was great to know we had someone we could depend on). the unit itself is lovely. the lanai (balcony) is the perfect size with a lovely dining table and 4 chairs. there are two additional chairs with footstools for relaxing. and, relax we did. the view is fabulous and since we were there during whale watching season, the amazing ocean view afforded us fabulous views of breaching whales. from the other end of the balcony, we looked out at the beginnings of the mountains and were fortunate enough , one morning, to have a view of the most vibrant rainbow we've ever seen. the bedrooms are comfortable, the closets adequate (i did have to buy more hangers but that's because i over-packed), the bathrooms are large with a glass enclosed shower and a separate soaking tub. there are double sinks and marble counters and toilet is in a small enclosed area with a door to create privacy. i loved having a supermarket, pharmacy and fresh fish market nearby. came in handy for the meals we chose to have "at home." i would have preferred a gas stove but it didn't take that long for me to get used to electric. the resort amenities are fabulous-from the 4 pools to the gym to the walkable grounds with all the paths, foliag, flowers and easily accessible beach. don't miss Duke's Beach House, the restaurant at the foot of resort by the beach. good food, good service and a great place to watch the sun set while sipping a Margarita. to sum it up, we can't wait to return and hope Unit 546 is available for our next visit to paradise!"

  • Highly recommend.

"We had a wonderful experience staying at this condo. The owners were great to work with and the unit was very comfortable, clean, and very well stocked. The entire complex was well maintained and had a number of pools, falls, and even a water slide. The location was beachfront and we really enjoyed walking the boardwalk to Whalers Village. We would stay here again."

  • Amazing Family Vacation - Both Relaxing and Adventurous!

"Every since walking by this resort a few years ago and eating at Duke's I knew I needed to stay here for my next visit to Maui. It was everything I expected! We had two families (4 adults and 2 kids, ages 12 and 8) and the 3 bedrooms (2 master suites) and 3 full baths were perfect. The unit was spacious, the view from the lanai was amazing (we rarely had the windows closed) and the amenities were everything we needed (beach chairs, boogie boards, small cooler, beach towels, etc). The location in the Kaanapali area was perfect and we were able to walk to activities and venues such as snorkeling (just down the beach), scuba lessons (at the resort), parasailing (about 1.5 miles down the beach path), Whaler's village, etc. Daily walks/runs along the beach path were wonderful. The pool was also great with lots of lounge chairs and food/beverage service from Duke's (and don't miss the Duke's happy hour!) Would definitely return here again!"

  • Amazing Family Vacation

"We recently rented this condo with another family. In total we had 4 adults and three young children. The condo is in a great location with easy access to the beach, the bbq, and three pools. We loved having the ground floor with the little ones and found the condo to be extremely kid friendly. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly need. They even had a Vitamix which we were especially stoked about since we are big smoothie/juice people. Sherry was amazingly helpful with booking the resort as well as giving us info about the property and surrounding area. We hope to book the property again next year. Loved it!!!!"
