Recent Honua Kai reviews

  • Great Location

"We stayed at the property in mid January 2016. The location was ideal, convenient to beaches, stores, restaurants, etc. It was about 55 minutes from OGG. You will need a car. Honua Kai was great. There was easy beach access and the pool area was spacious and relaxing. The condo was clean and well maintained. The owner and her agent were responsive. The listing indicated the average nightly rate was approximately $250; however, after various misc fees we ended up paying approximately $400 per night. Most afternoons / early evenings there was a sewage smell in the general area of the resort."

  • Konea 614 was perfect

"Every morning my girlfriend and I were gently awoken by the most gorgeous pink sunrise over the mountain outside our bedroom window. This would then start what would become our seven day routine of hopping out of bed to open our giant lanai doors so we could soak in the sun, bask in the warm breeze and take in our incredible view. That was followed by making breakfast in our large fully-stocked kitchen, which was then followed by a debate on whether we venture out to see Maui, or just lie on our coach and relax all day long... We did eventually make it out of our room to explore the resort which was beautifully landscaped. Nice pools, hot tubes and great views. Enjoying a drink at the resort's open-air ocean-facing Duke's restaurant encapsulates the Hawaiian experience. Couldn't have been happier with our decision to stay here. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious and stocked with everything we needed (kitchenware, towels, beach stuff). A final note, I actually preferred our mountain view to an ocean one. If you're in Hawaii your sunsets are going to be spent on a boat or on the sand. Room 614 let us enjoy the sunrise and a different look at the island than the one we inevitably explored as soon as we left the room."
