  • Still dreaming of this stay!

"I'm not sure how I haven't written a review earlier for this unit. My husband and I stayed in Christine's condo for nine glorious days in August 2015 for our honeymoon. Unfortunately, during our stay there were some tropical storms that forced us to stay inside a few times. Lucky for us, the condo had everything we needed! First of all, there are not enough words to describe the incredible view as soon as you walk through the front door. All you can see and hear is the ocean! It left me speechless on multiple occasions. The kitchen was fully equipped and stocked with all of the essentials. We didn't stay in and cook dinner much, but anything we needed for breakfast or lunch was there (minus the food itself, of course). In addition, there was snorkeling gear available in the closet, extra sheets and towels. The bathroom was beautiful! I was a little nervous about having a murphy bed, but it was surprisingly very comfortable and when folded up, you'd never know it was there. Even with it down, the unit seemed roomy and comfortable. I honestly felt like I was leaving my long time home when it was time to check out and head back to New Jersey. I enjoyed being able to read the reviews and suggestions in the guest book that was in the unit and the computer and free wifi were great - I was able to check out the sneak peeks of our wedding photos as soon as we checked in and keep an eye on the weather. In addition to the unit being perfection, the grounds were beautiful. Despite the rain, there were people working every day to keep Maui Kai looking wonderful. The front desk staff was kind and easy to hold a conversation with. Overall, I cannot say enough wonderful things about this unit. I look back at my pictures very often and it breaks my heart that I am not there enjoying that view every day. From my initial inquiry months in advance, to emails back and forth while at the condo, Christine was excellent. She responded quickly and the whole process was a breeze. I HIGHLY recommend staying in Christine's unit and experiencing the magic of Maui Kai!"

  • A Greaat Time at the Mahana

"I have been coming to the Mahana for over 20 years, and still love it. Every unit is ocean front. It is off the beaten path, but close enough to the snorkeling, (just south of The Mahana, maybe 50 feet). A supermarket is a nice 5 minute walk away. The unit is nice, clean, updated flooring and appliances. Cooked 6 out of 7 dinners on the bbq or stove top. Speaking of bbq's there are a total of 8, 3 in a smoking zone and 5 by the pool. Never had to wait. Swimming pool is cleaned every morning and does not have that typical heavy chlorine smell and taste. If you are into hiking, all you have to do is get up to Kapalua Resort and you have a choice of hikes from 7.5 mile Kapalua ridge hike to walks along the coast. If you want the night life, Kaananapali Beach hotels and restaurants are only a few miles south, with Lahania just a few mile further south. Have tried other resorts but keep coming back to The Mahana."

  • Best Place to Celebrate!

"This past May my husband booked a surprise trip to Maui for my 40th Birthday Day. We stayed at the Maui Kai Condo complex, #504. If you are into breathtaking views of the Pacific this is the place to stay. From the lanai, you basically, sit incredibly close to the waves. From the lanai you (of course, with a glass of pinot noir in hand) take in all the activity the ocean has to offer turtles, whales, cruise ships, surfers, the islands both to the right and left of your view and in the sky gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. This is a place where you can escape the big hotels and the crowds. This is a place where the owners of the unit, Al and Lyn go out of their way to make sure you have a fabulous time. You arrive to a special welcoming basket. You notice immediately of course, the sweeping view from the front door. You also notice everything your every need is right here from kitchen utensils to boogie boards. The location is great with a large grocery store across the street, a wonderful promenade along the ocean with several restaurant offerings. We ate twice at Dukes which is almost next door. We highly recommend #504 at the Maui Kai. We will return for sure next year. BTW I had the BEST ever birthday in Maui! Thank you Al and Lyn."
