  • Good stay

"This property was clean and well maintained. I felt a little disappointed upon arrival because I thought I was staying in a little cottage. I'm sure it was my fault and I didn't read good enough. It is a very dated resort but the room was very updated and clean! The place was not as immaculate as the pictures but it was still pretty nice! Snorkel gear and a boogy board were provided which was great! If your a person who likes to have a very cool room this unit is not for you. We like to sleep with the air atleast 70 degrees. On our arrival the AC was not turned on and it was extremely hot inside. I was upset because it should have been turned on prior to our arrival, it took a very long time to cool down. The air condition could not keep up with the room and when set on 70 it ran the whole 5 days we stayed. I told the front desk a few times but they never said anything so I assumed it was normal. It was very hot the whole time. If your a person who liked privacy it is a bit uncomfortable having a camera on the balcony because it feels like a violation of privacy. The view was amazing!! Not a beach front which is clearly stated in the description but the beach is just feet away from the Maui Kai. However it is a ocean front and is beautiful! Over all we had a very good stay, staff was very friendly and willing to answer any questions! We would stay again if the air condition was a little cooler."

  • A beauty.

"This place is a beauty at a great price. We saw turtles right off the balcony! Great location with walk-able distances to restaurants and shops. The boardwalk that runs along the beach that starts just after the condos was great and very convenient. It was nice to not have to walk near traffic but to enjoy the beach scenery instead. :) We enjoyed Java Jazz not far from the condo for coffee and breakfast and eating at Duke's nearby along the boardwalk is a must."

  • No better resort to watch the ocean and sunsets

"We booked a 2-bedroom suite at Maui Kai through the owner of this unit. Best thing about this condo is the million-dollar view that is superior to much more expensive hotels. In the Kaanapali area, most hotels are set a way back from shore, so you get a partial ocean view. At Maui Kai, you are literally steps away from the ocean, so you have a full 180 degrees, unobstructed view. We couldn't get enough of the view, from early morning to gorgeous sunset. The two attached units are very convenient if you have two families. One unit is a studio with full kitchen, bath, queen bed and a pull out sofa. The other unit is a one-bedroom corner unit with full kitchen and pull out sofa. They are connected by a lockable door. Both units are nicely decorated, with comfortable beds and furniture. The kitchen is fully stocked with modern amenities to allow you to cook meals at home. Very quiet, A/C works well, good water pressure. Beach chairs, beach towels, umbrellas and boogie boards are there for you to borrow. There are laundry facilities on the floors above and below. Plenty of off-street parking, but the pool, BBQ area and club house is pretty basic. Very convenient location, close to some nice beaches and far enough from Lahaina traffic. Overall, I would absolutely love to go back to stay at these units again. We love them! The owner of this unit is really easy to work with. She is very responsive and helpful. She gave us her Local Girl's Guide to Maui to take with us to Maui. Lots of helpful tips, we followed her advice on beaches, restaurants, markets. Proof that you don't have to spend a lot of money in order for good entertainment, eat well, and eat like the locals!"

  • 6 days in paradise

"My husband and I enjoyed 6 days in Bob's wonderful condo. The place was clean, well-equipped, and had a fabulous view. Unfortunately, there is no beach out front, but that didn't bother us too much as we drove to our favorite snorkel spots (Kapalua Bay, Honolua Bay). So nice to have the kitchen and living areas to relax, and we enjoyed many hours on the lanai. Close to shopping and 15 mins. from Lahaina and 10 mins. from Whaler's Village. Can't be beat!"
