  • Great place for my family!

"This was a fantastic place to stay. It was clean and had anything we needed, including some beach stuff on the lanai. My girls loved it, and the location could not be better. The beach is right outside. We loved it. Because this unit is privately owned there wasn't any maid service, but that's the only drawback we experienced, if you could even call it that. We'd stay here again in a second."

  • perfect ground level condo

"My favorite part was walking out of condo onto grass. The condo was perfect. The bed was super cozy and the shower was superb. The Whaler itself is dated--pool area not the nicest. Unless you plan on spending your trip at the pool its not a big deal."

  • Home Away From Home!

"We have been staying at the Whaler within various units for the past 20 years. While we have enjoyed all the units we have stayed in, this one was easily our favorite. As the description notes, the unit is tastefully furnished and has lots of wonderful artwork. The appliances are outstanding. A pleasant surprise was the little touches such as nice mobile fans, a couple small beach chairs and really nice boogie boards. The location of this unit is a bit of a conundrum. This corner location above Whalers Village offers sweeping views of the beach and whatever action is going on at the village, so you hear the outdoor music from the Hula Grill, Leilanies and the periodic events in the village itself. This was a plus for us since everything wraps up early. We also liked that it offers more privacy since you don't have the other tower directly across from you as you have on the courtyard side. The wind is not as strong in this location and the only direct sun on the lanai is in the late afternoon. On paper, this would be my favorite location within the entire complex. Now, the negative is that depending on the wind, the kitchen exhaust for the adjacent Hula Grill can be overpowering on the lanai. If you sit on the lanai, your hair and clothes are going to smell as if you have spent several hours in front of a bar-b-que grill. Also, you can't really open up on those days since the unit will smell for days. It all depends on the wind direction. We made the best of it and feel that the positives outweigh this one negative aspect. Also, Whalers Village is undergoing major renovations for the rest of this year. Lots of construction-related noise for any unit located on the south side of tower 2 during working hours, including weekends. It wasn't a big deal for us since we visit fairly routinely. If this was my first trip to Maui, or the trip of a lifetime, etc., staying on the south side of tower 2 at this time might dampen things a bit....if you let it! Management company was nice to work with and was responsive to a minor maintenance issue we discovered when we checked in. Overall, we loved this unit, and appreciate all the owners have done to make it a welcoming place to stay. Can't wait to return!"

  • An amazing location and view!!

"My husband and I have been to Maui now 8 or 9 times and other islands 5 or 6 and by far this is the "Best" place we have ever stayed. Best decor, condition inside (beautiful),location, and especially view. The place is really well kept up and very clean and cared for. There are all of the most needed luxuries of home that you might need. The laundry facilities are literally right next door to you, but you can't hear them running. The pool and grounds were kept up immaculately. We loved being able to sit out on the lanai every morning while eating breakfast and watch the grounds people grooming and cleaning up the garden and lawn areas. It was not noisy while watching at all. Just amazing at all the work they do to keep everything looking so great. Beach Towels were always avaliable any time you needed by just turning in the two you had and getting two more. This was a great thing if you had been on the sand and wanted clean towels to use at the pool. The beach chairs were great to have to use for our side trips to other beaches we wanted to go hang out at for the day and they are great " Tommy Bahama" chairs that you can carry on your back so your hands are free to carry other things. Even though this is a studio it is much larger than some and has plenty of moving around space for 2 and even 4 if you were to have company. Can't even begin to tell you all the perks of this condo it is that great. We already look forward to our next visit back to Maui and this is the only resort and condo we will want to stay at from now on. Thanks John & Valene for sharing your beautiful home in paradise with others and we are very thankful we found your place. Mahalo and Aloha"
