  • Wonderful Relaxing Vacation

"Hubby and I decided to book a condo for two weeks; we were here for a week and a half and our son and his wife joined us the last few nights. Hubby was impressed that a rental condo would have a sub-zero, a wine chiller and a shower in the master bath with double shower heads. A recent addition is the washer and dryer. The bed in the master is very comfortable. The condo location is good because we didn't hear construction noise from Whalers's Village or the Whaler renovations, and you don't get the hot afternoon sun. We ended up buying some dominoes and playing in the afternoons on the lanai, enjoying the view. Every morning started off with us on the lanai drinking coffee and watching it get light. We host a bbq every year for a large group and used the bbqs and tables downstairs and bbq'd and watched the sunset eating dinner. We are in Maui every year and will be back to this unit. New to Maui for grocery shopping is Island Grocery (much nicer than Safeway). This is the first year we actually rented a condo and cooked breakfast and lunch, so I feel like I really maximized use of the condo. The only things this unit needs is a little cooler to take drinks or sandwiches to the pool, some games, and some small plastic containers to take dip, etc. to the pool. I donated the dominoes (bring paper and pen) and a few small plastic containers. Carol was wonderful to work with and very responsive. Don't hesitate to book this unit. The housekeeper was awesome! I still have 1-1/2 days here and will hate to leave. Thank you Carol."

  • Comfortable updated unit with a beautiful ocean view

"My wife and I stayed for a week in unit #762 and it was a great place to stay. The unit is updated and clean. The Murphy bed was very comfortable and it was nice to be able to fold it up out of the way every morning. I actually slept better there than I do at home. The mirrored wall in the living room allows an awesome view of Black Rock and the ocean all the way from the kitchen. The location is great and the property is well-maintained. We barbecued three nights there by the pool and met other guests. The property was not overcrowded and it was a peaceful setting. Unit #762 was a perfect location within the building because we were able to enjoy a beautiful sunset view without getting too much sun on the lanai. We look forward to returning and I recommend this unit to others who appreciate a comfortable updated condo with a beautiful ocean view."

  • Home Away From Home!

"We have been staying at the Whaler within various units for the past 20 years. While we have enjoyed all the units we have stayed in, this one was easily our favorite. As the description notes, the unit is tastefully furnished and has lots of wonderful artwork. The appliances are outstanding. A pleasant surprise was the little touches such as nice mobile fans, a couple small beach chairs and really nice boogie boards. The location of this unit is a bit of a conundrum. This corner location above Whalers Village offers sweeping views of the beach and whatever action is going on at the village, so you hear the outdoor music from the Hula Grill, Leilanies and the periodic events in the village itself. This was a plus for us since everything wraps up early. We also liked that it offers more privacy since you don't have the other tower directly across from you as you have on the courtyard side. The wind is not as strong in this location and the only direct sun on the lanai is in the late afternoon. On paper, this would be my favorite location within the entire complex. Now, the negative is that depending on the wind, the kitchen exhaust for the adjacent Hula Grill can be overpowering on the lanai. If you sit on the lanai, your hair and clothes are going to smell as if you have spent several hours in front of a bar-b-que grill. Also, you can't really open up on those days since the unit will smell for days. It all depends on the wind direction. We made the best of it and feel that the positives outweigh this one negative aspect. Also, Whalers Village is undergoing major renovations for the rest of this year. Lots of construction-related noise for any unit located on the south side of tower 2 during working hours, including weekends. It wasn't a big deal for us since we visit fairly routinely. If this was my first trip to Maui, or the trip of a lifetime, etc., staying on the south side of tower 2 at this time might dampen things a bit....if you let it! Management company was nice to work with and was responsive to a minor maintenance issue we discovered when we checked in. Overall, we loved this unit, and appreciate all the owners have done to make it a welcoming place to stay. Can't wait to return!"

  • Awesome Condo!

"My family and I had a wonderful stay in Norm and Mary's beautiful condo! Norm was great to work with in planning our vacation. The condo is very reasonably priced for being located on the beautiful Kaanapali Beach. It is very pretty, spacious and clean. We enjoyed relaxing on the lanai while listening to the birds and the ocean waves. We also appreciated the walk in closet and the several dressers to store all of the the items that we brought on our trip. The kitchen was well equipped to cook anything we wanted to prepare, although we ate out for many of our meals! Our teens also enjoyed the boogie boards that were in the condo. They had so much fun riding the waves! We truly had an amazing stay and hope to be back sooner than later."
