  • 964 far exceeded our expectations - well worth it! Thank you Jan for sharing your fantastic place.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in 964. Out host, Jan, was so good and responsive to every piece of communication - beginning with our very first inquiries. Due to airline issues we had to extend our trip a day and she made that work without a problem! The unit itself is decorated and furnished so well, that it took our breath away when we entered. Immaculate and extremely clean! Beautiful kitchen - it truly is full complete kitchen, and wonderful bath - particularly the tiled shower. The furniture was chosen and laid out such that the unit did not at all feel tight or small, and the nice newer large King Bed was perfect! Another small feature, often not noted by people, is the high quality sliding glass doors and screens to the lanai. They slide and shut so easily and completely, compared to others we have encountered. Pretty much everything is top of the line! We had stayed 9 days and so had a mid-stay cleaning - that also went well and was very appreciated! As for the Whaler, we have stayed there many times before, but 964 was by far the best unit we've been in. It is also on the prized north facing side of the South tower - so you don't get that full sun on it all day, yet you get to see the grassy courtyard and coi pond and look out towards the pool and the ocean. There have been some major recent renovations at the Whaler, which new visitors will get to appreciate. The new Reception Building is completed and we got to witness the Grand Opening on 12/15/2016. It is so beautiful, bright, and open! Also - there is a wonderful expanded BBQ area oceanside at the North Tower with plenty of tables and seating, along with a welcome firepit! All in all - we had a wonderful time - much of thanks to Jan and her 964 unit! Highly recommended!"

  • Great!

"All amenities were there that were needed. Its one of the smaller units but when your on the go it doesn't matter. Having 2 rollouts in the room helped. Had to extend 1 night and owners were very responsive. You cant go wrong with the Whaler; 100% recommend."

  • Home Away From Home!

"We have been staying at the Whaler within various units for the past 20 years. While we have enjoyed all the units we have stayed in, this one was easily our favorite. As the description notes, the unit is tastefully furnished and has lots of wonderful artwork. The appliances are outstanding. A pleasant surprise was the little touches such as nice mobile fans, a couple small beach chairs and really nice boogie boards. The location of this unit is a bit of a conundrum. This corner location above Whalers Village offers sweeping views of the beach and whatever action is going on at the village, so you hear the outdoor music from the Hula Grill, Leilanies and the periodic events in the village itself. This was a plus for us since everything wraps up early. We also liked that it offers more privacy since you don't have the other tower directly across from you as you have on the courtyard side. The wind is not as strong in this location and the only direct sun on the lanai is in the late afternoon. On paper, this would be my favorite location within the entire complex. Now, the negative is that depending on the wind, the kitchen exhaust for the adjacent Hula Grill can be overpowering on the lanai. If you sit on the lanai, your hair and clothes are going to smell as if you have spent several hours in front of a bar-b-que grill. Also, you can't really open up on those days since the unit will smell for days. It all depends on the wind direction. We made the best of it and feel that the positives outweigh this one negative aspect. Also, Whalers Village is undergoing major renovations for the rest of this year. Lots of construction-related noise for any unit located on the south side of tower 2 during working hours, including weekends. It wasn't a big deal for us since we visit fairly routinely. If this was my first trip to Maui, or the trip of a lifetime, etc., staying on the south side of tower 2 at this time might dampen things a bit....if you let it! Management company was nice to work with and was responsive to a minor maintenance issue we discovered when we checked in. Overall, we loved this unit, and appreciate all the owners have done to make it a welcoming place to stay. Can't wait to return!"

  • Wonderful Condo

"My wife and I stayed in this condo four years ago and loved it. This time we brough our kids (5 & 8) so that we could stay longer. The kitchen remodel is wonderful. The unit is very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The Whaler is an excellent property in a wonderful location. We enjoyed the Whaler's village, Black Rock, and of course the Tiki Bar. We enjoyed breakfast in the morning and bbq'd at night. No need to eat out as everything you need is provided in the kitchen and on the property. The tide was very strong while we stayed so we took our kids to Baby Beach which is a 5 min. drive. The reservation process was simple and fast. We will continue to stay in this unit whenever we vacation in Maui."
