  • Family friendly, clean, well equipped

"First off, let me say we were welcomed by a nice Aloha spirit goodie bag loaded with treats from the island. Such a nice welcoming thing for the owner to do! The unit is located at the front of the complex right by the lobby and parking which makes it so convenient for golf cart pick up to the beach, loading and unloading, trips to the cafe/sundry store inside the lobby. However, it is still secluded enough that you still feel away from any distracting hustle and bustle. The view from the patio when the construction is finished will be very nice. I think one would be able to see the pool and the ocean when it is done. Right now, we have a slight view of the construction but still have a nice shot at the ocean. The construction crew is only here Monday-Friday 9-5 with breaks for lunch. So for us, it has not been an issue at all. We are rising early because we are from Eastern Standard Time so we are done with breakfast before they start. When we eat lunch, they are breaking for lunch, and when we eat dinner they are done for the day. All the rest of the time we are out enjoying the beach or other wonderful island sites. The kitchen is incredibly equipped with everything you could possibly need. There is a washer and dryer that is so practical for families. There are boogie boards, a beach chair, and other assorted beach things available for use. There is a small patio grill at the unit that we used for quick lunches and then bigger BBQ grills very close by on the property for use as well. The beach cabana is very nice with showers, restrooms, chairs, and towels available for use. We are a family of 5 and the unit is plenty big enough. All the kids have their own bed and we have 2 showers which is great when we are all trying to get ready. This place has been like a bit of paradise for us and we will be sad to leave. Hopefully we will make it back some day and we would definitely stay at this unit again. Mahalo! 🌺"

  • Amazing experience!

"Thank you to Joe & Rhonda for facilitating a wonderful 10 day getaway! From the initial inquiry to the end of my stay they were incredibly accommodating, including working with me on a late check-out. The condo itself is beautifully appointed with just about everything you could need. The view from the lanai is amazing and is sheltered from the afternoon trade winds. I have stayed at the Honua Kai in the past and had worked with a property management company. The personal touches (champagne, coffee, chocolate, beach chairs, boogie boards etc). and availability of both Joe and Rhonda will ensure that they will be the people I work with when I plan my next vacation (hopefully sooner than later)! Thank you! Sharon"

  • Perfect location!

"Karin's condo at the Whaler was the perfect place for me and the kids to take a break! First, I loved that we could self-park below the building and take the elevator directly to the 4th floor. The kitchen was completely stocked - we were able to successfully cook several meals in the condo, which saved us lots of money (and grief from picky eaters!). After exploring the kitchen, I took note of several other characteristics of the condo - REAL carpet - not hotel-grade indoor-outdoor carpet.... it was so comfortable to walk around the condo! The closet inside the front door contains several boogie boards, umbrellas, beach chairs, sand toys, and more! The living area was ample and comfortable. My son slept on the sofabed - it was quite loud and not terribly comfortable, but it was functional and clean. The next thing I discovered was the lanai - The ocean view was spectacular! I fully utilized the table, chairs, and chaise that are provided. The grounds of the Whaler are well-maintained and we enjoyed seeing lots of plumeria and palm trees. I decided to look for the bedroom - but before I found it, I discovered the laundry room - It has a dated washer and dryer but they work very well. Also in the laundry room I discovered a small library, several board games, and extra bedding. From the laundry room, I wandered to the bathroom which was clean - I was a little surprised to find that toiletries were limited - there was shampoo but no conditioner - and we had to purchase toilet paper - but I was able to pick up some at the store. The bedroom was private, cool, and had its own thermostat and ceiling fan. It was a comfortable room with a large king-size bed. The bed is very firm and loud, but functional (definitely not what I'd describe as "comfortable" or "plush.") The best part of the condo is its location - literally steps to the best part of Ka'anapali beach - and within walking distance of anything you could need or want. It's a few hundred feet to Black Rock, it's next door to Whaler's Village with shopping and dining options. The on-site pool is wonderful and there are ample chaises and cabanas to relax on. All of the Whaler staff that we encountered were helpful, pleasant, and welcoming. Will/Would I stay here again? Absolutely - Definitely."

  • Short and sweet: All good

"Beautiful condo in an excellent resort. Everything worked as it should, it was perfectly ready for our stay. Owners communicated well before, during, and after the stay. Property manager was on time and made sure everything was perfect. Great quiet location. Grocery Store across the street. I have nothing negative to say about the property. Book it!"
