  • Everything we wanted!!

    "Our stay here was perfect in every way. Everything we needed was at our fingertips. Beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkeling gear etc. were all there for us to use. It was also convenient to have the market/coffee shop downstairs; we enjoyed our lattes and acai bowls in the morning. We loved being out on the lanai every single day. It was our favorite place to be in the morning and evening. We even tried the spa one day and it was wonderful. It was so nice to have everything available at one place. The accommodations were excellent. We will definitely return and would recommend it!!"

    "Thank you for having us. Could not have been a more perfect home base for our family. After full days at Haleakala, Snorkeling, Hana, Surfing and Walks along Boardwalk, it was so great to come home to such a well kept and clean resort right on the water! The grounds and unit were immaculate. Wonderful accommodations."

  • Home Away From Home!

    "We have been staying at the Whaler within various units for the past 20 years. While we have enjoyed all the units we have stayed in, this one was easily our favorite. As the description notes, the unit is tastefully furnished and has lots of wonderful artwork. The appliances are outstanding. A pleasant surprise was the little touches such as nice mobile fans, a couple small beach chairs and really nice boogie boards. The location of this unit is a bit of a conundrum. This corner location above Whalers Village offers sweeping views of the beach and whatever action is going on at the village, so you hear the outdoor music from the Hula Grill, Leilanies and the periodic events in the village itself. This was a plus for us since everything wraps up early. We also liked that it offers more privacy since you don't have the other tower directly across from you as you have on the courtyard side. The wind is not as strong in this location and the only direct sun on the lanai is in the late afternoon. On paper, this would be my favorite location within the entire complex. Now, the negative is that depending on the wind, the kitchen exhaust for the adjacent Hula Grill can be overpowering on the lanai. If you sit on the lanai, your hair and clothes are going to smell as if you have spent several hours in front of a bar-b-que grill. Also, you can't really open up on those days since the unit will smell for days. It all depends on the wind direction. We made the best of it and feel that the positives outweigh this one negative aspect. Also, Whalers Village is undergoing major renovations for the rest of this year. Lots of construction-related noise for any unit located on the south side of tower 2 during working hours, including weekends. It wasn't a big deal for us since we visit fairly routinely. If this was my first trip to Maui, or the trip of a lifetime, etc., staying on the south side of tower 2 at this time might dampen things a bit....if you let it! Management company was nice to work with and was responsive to a minor maintenance issue we discovered when we checked in. Overall, we loved this unit, and appreciate all the owners have done to make it a welcoming place to stay. Can't wait to return!"

  • Good value for the money spent.

    "We liked the location of the room. The room was very clean, kitchen was stocked with everything needed for in-room cooking. I was pretty disappointed that the washing machine didn't work and wasn't fixed until our 7th day there, especially since I emailed ahead to be sure this room had a washer and dryer. However, I felt like the overall value for the money spent was very good and I do recommend this room."
