  • Exactly as Described, GREAT VACATION!

"My husband and I just spent out 10th Anniversary here and it was exactly what we expected. We researched condos, read descriptions and reviews and we decided on this condo based on our research and so many positive reviews. It was clean, and perfect for two people. We were so close to the water, it almost felt like we were on a boat when we were inside and looking out the window. Having air conditioning was a huge bonus for us. I would have my morning coffee and watch the crabs crawl along the rocks against the sea wall and we would had dinner several evenings at the table overlooking the sunset against the ocean. The snorkel gear and beach chairs, umbrella and small cooler were all very handy. We really enjoyed our stay at this condo and would recommend it to anybody who wants to be, quite literally, on the water."

  • Serenity in Paradise

"This was our 5th visit to the Maui Eldorado and the first to J219. There is no doubt we will return! While all our stays have been wonderful and we have been fortunate to stay in nice units, there is something really different about Steve and Linda's Maui home. It really felt like a home, not a rental condo. They have taken great care to furnish it with warmth and a touch of tropical elegance. Linda's artwork is the frosting on the cake! No condo art here, but unique and lovely paintings. The kitchen has all the supplies you need, the bath towels and linens are of very good quality and the unit is immaculate. Steve was wonderful to work with during the rental process and really goes out of his way to make sure you have all the information you need. The welcome bottle of wine was a lovely surprise and a very warm gesture as was his welcome call upon our arrival. The view from the lanai was mesmerizing and the beach cabana a great place to park yourself for the day and enjoy the beach, snorkeling and swimming. We highly recommend J219....but please take good care of it because we will be back!!!! Mahalo Steve and Linda for providing a wonderful tropical retreat!"

  • Perfect home away from home!

"Our family stayed for two weeks and were so comfortable the entire time! This condo is nicely stocked with everything you need including beach chairs, umbrellas and toys for the little ones yet it has some beautiful updates that make it very nice to stay in. The masterbed was VERY comfortable and even the pull out couch bed was comfortable. We especially enjoyed being on the bottom floor as we could walk right out of our condo to the beach. Very convenient with little ones! We highly recommend this place especially if you have a family!"

  • Gorgeous, spacious, and perfect for families

"We've been to Maui multiple times and stayed at various locations, and our stay at Honua Kai was one of the best ever. We would absolutely stay there again and have already recommended it to some friends and relatives. Will was great with communication and we had all the info we needed as far as check-in, etc., and the condo had everything we needed. Most of the other reviews reflect this same info, and for good reason - this place was fantastic. Here are a few thoughts to keep in mind in case you're trying to decide where to stay: 1) This is basically a 2 BR/1 BA condo. The "den" is a bedroom with a door and everything - but it lacks a closet and window, and it shares a bath with the master. Since it's listed as a 1 BR with a den, you might be concerned about space. Don't be. It's plenty big for a family of 4 (kids aged 9 and 4), and we didn't even use the sofa bed. 2) The views are great. It's not facing the ocean (though you can technically see a portion of it off the edge of the deck), and it faces the mountains. If you're okay without an ocean view, you're probably not going to do better than this in the Kaanapaali area. 3) The condo is situated on the outside of the building, facing the other building on property. There's a large grassy area between the two buildings that opens up and affords the view mentioned above. Because of this alignment, the condo is really, really quiet. You're not on top of the pool, you're not facing any construction or a road or a parking lot. There's nobody gathering in the space between buildings. 4) There are LOTS of kids at this property. It's mostly families. The pool areas are designed for this. There's a waterslide and multiple kid pools. 5) The on-property restaurant, Duke's, is pretty good. Given it's location, it could have been sub-par, but we enjoyed several meals there. The gourmet market is good as well, but expensive. The good news if you're trying to save money is that you're literally across the street from a grocery store, and the condo has a full kitchen. 6) I can't speak for the rest of the property, but this condo does not have daily maid service. We knew about this going in, and it's priced accordingly. This was a non-factor for us. We are definitely going to keep this property at the top of our list the next time we travel to Maui."
