  • Well appointed suite was so comfortable and enjoyable to be in!

"Well appointed suite was so comfortable and enjoyable to be in. Extra equipment such as the cooler, sun umbrella and beach chairs were very handy. It was wonderful to be able to open the windows fully with the sliding screens to keep out flies. Thank you also for the chocolates KBM! They were quite deliciousl."

  • Wonderful Stay

"This was a clean unit that had everything that you needed. My kids enjoyed the boogie board and the kitchen was complete. The hotel grounds was perfect. The pool slide was a bonus and beach access was definitely a plus. I would suggest wearing water shoes since it gets rocky and my daughter got a cut from the corals. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the drier wasn't too efficient. Also, the patio DID not have a sheer curtain (room did) and with construction literally across from you, if you wanted sunlight in the unit, you had no privacy. I'm sure the construction workers could see everything we were doing in the morning. As stated in their overview, if you don't mind construction and no view, then this unit is a great deal. KBM, the rental company that manages it, was amazing. We will use them again and return to this hotel, but next time with a view."

  • Villa 408 - Lovely Stay

"This is our fourth stay at the AKVillas- we truly love it here and consider it our little "home away from home". With that being said, we have stayed in several different villas (all owned by different people), so I feel as though we can give Villa 408 a pretty fair review. Here's our "two cents - for what it's worth": The Pros: -Great location on the property. It's close to the pool, beach, elevators, lobby, Castaway, etc. It's situated in a really good spot. -They have everything you need. Pots and pans, dish soap, beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrella, HIGH CHAIR, PACK AND PLAY, books, hair dryer, straightener, etc. They've left a great "bunch" of stuff for their tenants to use! We were very thankful to have so much provided for us! -Good layout. We appreciated the separate bedroom and good sized bathroom. The BATHTUB was also a huge plus for us (we have a nine month old). It was nice to be able to bathe her in the tub and not the sink (like we usually have to do on vacation). -New stove and microwave, flat screen tvs. *Before you read below, please know that this is A VERY NICE AND COMFORTABLE UNIT and will be a GREAT stay for anyone! We have just stayed in many other villas, so I thought it was important I was honest* Cons: -Cleanliness. The place is definitely clean, but when you have a nine month old roaming the floors, they find everything! I feel it could definitely use a good scrub down - move the furniture, clean out the cabinets, clean out the closets (broom closet especially) etc. -For a 2 plus week stay, I feel as though a maid service (one time cleaning) should be offered and included. -The decor and furniture need a bit of updating. Compared to other units, the brown furniture, tan walls, etc. just make it seem "dreary". -The linens. The sheets and bed pillows are great, but the quilts could definitely use a good cleaning. -Lighting. There could definitely be a few additional lamps/overhead lighting - especially in the bathroom (vanity, closet, and tub area). I didn't do my makeup often, but when I did, I could barely see. -No pantry area. -Broom closet needs some work :) All in all, this is a GREAT villa and I would recommend it to anyone for a stay at AKV. The owner is AMAZING when communicating with you and is prompt in responding. We've loved our stay!"

  • The perfect vacation

"We truly enjoyed our 10 days at this unit. The owner called two days prior to us arriving asking if we had any questions. When we arrived at the unit the owner's had left a little gift with a note. Maria met us at the unit and went through the unit with us and would be available if we needed anything or had questions (we did book one excursion through Maria and she was very professional). Everything in the unit was as described. Very nice and clean. This is our second visit to Honua Kai Resort and we liked this unit and location better than the last one here. Our family (18 of us) had four different units here and really enjoyed our time here. The sandy beach is close to the unit, pools are nice, Dukes Restaurant is on site and has good food (be sure to get the Hula pie), there's a little store on site, the valet guys were very friendly, and we once again used Tyson from Forever Maui Photography (we used him last time and he was great). We are already planning our next trip back to this resort! Thank you to the owners for sharing their unit."
