  • Ocean view worth the price!

"This unit has incredible ocean views with the sunset every night. The Lanai is nice and spacious. The week we were there, we used it every day/evening. At times it was windy, and we squeezed together in one corner of it, but just cozy! Too windy to eat at the table outside. The kitchen is great and well stocked with what u need. They have a dish sponge, towels and soap there for u. There was even a bag of coffee left for us! We shopped at Costco by the airport and cooked several meals in the unit. My sister slept on the pullout couch in the living room. Not too comfy but she's a good sleeper. Beds were comfortable. I would stay here again. Really good for a large family. We were 5 adults."

  • Great condo for a large family!

"We recently stayed in this condo in June 2016. We had 8 people in our party and it was perfect! Accommodations were spacious, clean and kitchen cookware/bakeware/untensils were well stocked. Close to everything on Kaanapali Beach - Whaler's Village, restaurants, beach, Black Rock all within a few steps - just to name a few. A couple of minor things: We were short on bath towels so the ladies had to use the pool towels for their hair towels. (No big deal though) There were no BBQ utensils in the unit. Fortunately, we were able to borrow some from a kind soul in a unit near the BBQ area. I reserved this unit nearly a year in advance and was in contact with the owner over the year. They were quick to respond and answered all of my questions before I arrived. We will definitely rent this unit again for a large group trip!"

  • Wonderfully Accommodating and Relaxing in a Great Location

"Darling wife and I spent 2 weeks in Maui - 10 days here in Ethel’s Whaler Unit #313, and a few days at the Westin Resort. Whalers Village is the hub of Ka’anapali for shopping, dining, and entertainment, and both the Whaler (which is next door to the village on the north) and the Westin (which is next door to the village on the south) were perfect locations. I’m talking next door > a one or two-minute walk. However, the Westin is a huge complex with huge crowds. We both MUCH preferred staying at the Whaler complex, especially in Ethel’s condo because it was so close and easy to go from her fantastic view balcony to the pool or beach in 30 seconds. Run out of cocktail? No problem, up to the room and her icemaker and blender could whip ‘em up and poured into her plastic tumblers and back to the pool faster than any rendition of ‘Tiny Bubbles’. The unit has a full kitchen and beautiful Hawaiian-themed china/table settings, silverware, cookware, utensils, etc. The bed was comfy - we slept well with the huge patio doors open all night listening to the beach waves as white noise (we already miss that). We shopped Foodland Farms in Lahaina (5-10 minute drive - there’s also a Safeway, Walgreens, etc) and cooked steaks and veggie dinners at the BBQ next to the pool and a few breakfasts in the unit. The whole Ka’anapali beach boardwalk is fabulous to walk, and the Whaler is right in the middle of it, yet quiet. The Whaler has full concierge and hotel services too which we used for making Luau, dinner reservations, etc. Ethel was a delight to work with and has a wealth of knowledge. No drama or surprises whatsoever - easy, prompt and efficient. When we come back to Maui, we’ll forgo any Westin or Sheraton, and stay entirely here in #313. Mahalo nui loa!"

  • Fabulous stay!

"The condo was incredible! It had everything we could want and more. Kitchen was well supplied which was very helpful since we were traveling with a two year old. There were beach towels, chairs, an umbrella and even beach toys. Resort was great -- pool area was awesome for all ages, koi fish feeding every morning for the kiddo, good food at Duke's, a well stocked market on site and super convenient location. Management company was super friendly and helpful. We had requested a pack 'n play and it was in the condo waiting for us upon our arrival. I only had reason to reach out to The mgmt company once during our stay and they resolved the issue within the hour (bathtub was missing the stopper). Look forward to coming back again!"
