"Our family of 5 really enjoyed our time in Papakea B408. Our kids, ages 9, 4, and 2 slept very comfortably upstairs (older kids each had one of the twin beds and our 2-year old slept on the floor on a 'nest' we had made). There was a pack-n-play in the closet but we didn't end up using it. Kitchen was well stocked and other essentials almost lasted us the entire 10 days we were there (toilet paper, paper towels, ziplock bags etc.). Plenty of boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach chairs, umbrella, cooler...and we are leaving two sets of sand toys (buckets shovels etc). The condo stayed cool even without A/C because of the breeze and plentiful ceiling fans and fans. The sunsets were glorious, and hearing the ocean was soooo relaxing. Kaanapali beach is a couple minute drive down the road and was perfect for kids. The condo itself has a small sandy area that fronts the resort and is within easy walking distance and we went there a few times. There are two pools and one is heated, which we all loved. The hot tub was also very popular with our family. Lahaina was a great option for strolling and shopping and is only about a 10 minute drive away, tops. I would recommend buying paper plates and cups if you have small kids, as the porcelain dishes and glasses were always one step away from accidentally being broken on tile floors/glass tabletops. Papakea resort was very accommodating and had shuffleboard, putt putt golf, and other amenities that were nice. An ABC store (convenience store/gift shop) was a minute walk from the condo, and we had a keycard that allowed us to access it from the parking lot of the condo, very helpful! Bethany the owner was also very accommodating and was responsive when we needed it. We wanted to find a condo that was in a good location for beaches for our young kids and amenities and space for our family...Papakea and condo B408 definitely fit the bill!
