  • Favorite Place...

"I have been staying here since the first building opened and it has been delightful. Spent many family vacations and anniversary trips here! Just returned for a few weeks with my daughter's family introducing the next generation to this amazing apartment at the Kaanapali Alii condo complex. The apartment is perfect for a peaceful, enjoyable user friendly stay. Truly my most favorite place on the islands and I have been visiting them since 1970! Four generations have enjoyed this complex and best of all this unit. Highly recommend."

  • Great Condo

"We just returned from 10 days on Maui, and were really pleased with the accommodations in this condo. The unit was spacious and spotless, and had a beautiful view. We didn't cook much, but we could have - the kitchen has everything you would need. We spent a lot of time on the lanai, which was large and comfortable. The location was central to all the sightseeing and excursions we took. We would highly recommend this condo."

  • Perfect location!

"Karin's condo at the Whaler was the perfect place for me and the kids to take a break! First, I loved that we could self-park below the building and take the elevator directly to the 4th floor. The kitchen was completely stocked - we were able to successfully cook several meals in the condo, which saved us lots of money (and grief from picky eaters!). After exploring the kitchen, I took note of several other characteristics of the condo - REAL carpet - not hotel-grade indoor-outdoor carpet.... it was so comfortable to walk around the condo! The closet inside the front door contains several boogie boards, umbrellas, beach chairs, sand toys, and more! The living area was ample and comfortable. My son slept on the sofabed - it was quite loud and not terribly comfortable, but it was functional and clean. The next thing I discovered was the lanai - The ocean view was spectacular! I fully utilized the table, chairs, and chaise that are provided. The grounds of the Whaler are well-maintained and we enjoyed seeing lots of plumeria and palm trees. I decided to look for the bedroom - but before I found it, I discovered the laundry room - It has a dated washer and dryer but they work very well. Also in the laundry room I discovered a small library, several board games, and extra bedding. From the laundry room, I wandered to the bathroom which was clean - I was a little surprised to find that toiletries were limited - there was shampoo but no conditioner - and we had to purchase toilet paper - but I was able to pick up some at the store. The bedroom was private, cool, and had its own thermostat and ceiling fan. It was a comfortable room with a large king-size bed. The bed is very firm and loud, but functional (definitely not what I'd describe as "comfortable" or "plush.") The best part of the condo is its location - literally steps to the best part of Ka'anapali beach - and within walking distance of anything you could need or want. It's a few hundred feet to Black Rock, it's next door to Whaler's Village with shopping and dining options. The on-site pool is wonderful and there are ample chaises and cabanas to relax on. All of the Whaler staff that we encountered were helpful, pleasant, and welcoming. Will/Would I stay here again? Absolutely - Definitely."

  • Had a wonderful time!

"Just returned home from a fabulous week in Maui where we stayed at this wonderful condo at the Papkea Resort. As others have stated, the condo was clean, comfortable, and well stocked (except for chip bag clips :-)). The ocean views were amazing and the resort amenities (gas grills, heated pool, putting green, and shuffle board) were perfect. The condo location is ideal as traffic was light and we were minutes away from Kahekili beach, Napili Bay, and Kapalua Bay where we enjoyed the beaches and snorkeled for hours. On our last day, we spent the afternoon snorkeling at Kapalua Bay and saw no less than 12 sea turtles. When standing on the beach facing the water, the turtles were swimming in the shallower water all along the left side. Be careful not to venture past the point as the currents can be quite strong. At Kahekili beach, we found heading north or right from the shore (towards the Westin) was the best for snorkeling and before 12 noon before the winds picked up. Can also recommend the Fish Market restaurant (walking distance from resort and closes at 7PM), Kapalua Zip Lines (7 line tour), and Blue Water Rafting for their Molokini Express 2 hour snorkeling trip. Valarie was very easy to work with and was very responsive to my emails before and during our stay. Would definitely stay here again and have no reservations about recommending this condo. Thanks again Valarie!"
