  • Slice of paradise at water's edge

"I've stayed at the Whaler many times, but never in a studio by myself. Roger's studio condo is very well outfitted - kitchen, beach chairs, cooler, iron/board, etc; comfortable; a great location, and a very good value. More hangars in the closet than you know what to do with. Tons of drawers. The bed was so comfy. Everything was clean. Free laundry at the end of the hall. The gym is very well appointed with machines, free weights, treadmills, etc. Front desk staff very helpful - especially if you lock yourself out of the room, as I did on several occasions. Hawaiian vacation makes it hard for me to remember things like card keys. The pool is in great shape. The jets in the outdoor jacuzzi are substantial! I had a wonderful time at the Whaler for the family reunion. I hope to return next year."

  • Our unit exceeded all our expectations!

"Our family was impressed and delighted that the quality, location, and appearance of this unit exceeded our expectations -- one of the highlights of our vacation was seeing Maui at its most beautiful, both day and night, from our amazing lanai overlooking the ocean -- and our many wonderful meals enjoying sunsets and sunrises in this spacious outdoor setting you won't find in many condo properties at Kaanapali or elsewhere. KBM was very helpful throughout our trip!"

  • Perfect vacation

"It was a perfect vacation and a big part of it was due to the apartment. Our party included 2 teens, 1 kid and 2 adults. The apartment was perfect for our needs and a view was amazing. The service was top notch, will definitely return to the same place."

  • Home Away From Home!

"We have been staying at the Whaler within various units for the past 20 years. While we have enjoyed all the units we have stayed in, this one was easily our favorite. As the description notes, the unit is tastefully furnished and has lots of wonderful artwork. The appliances are outstanding. A pleasant surprise was the little touches such as nice mobile fans, a couple small beach chairs and really nice boogie boards. The location of this unit is a bit of a conundrum. This corner location above Whalers Village offers sweeping views of the beach and whatever action is going on at the village, so you hear the outdoor music from the Hula Grill, Leilanies and the periodic events in the village itself. This was a plus for us since everything wraps up early. We also liked that it offers more privacy since you don't have the other tower directly across from you as you have on the courtyard side. The wind is not as strong in this location and the only direct sun on the lanai is in the late afternoon. On paper, this would be my favorite location within the entire complex. Now, the negative is that depending on the wind, the kitchen exhaust for the adjacent Hula Grill can be overpowering on the lanai. If you sit on the lanai, your hair and clothes are going to smell as if you have spent several hours in front of a bar-b-que grill. Also, you can't really open up on those days since the unit will smell for days. It all depends on the wind direction. We made the best of it and feel that the positives outweigh this one negative aspect. Also, Whalers Village is undergoing major renovations for the rest of this year. Lots of construction-related noise for any unit located on the south side of tower 2 during working hours, including weekends. It wasn't a big deal for us since we visit fairly routinely. If this was my first trip to Maui, or the trip of a lifetime, etc., staying on the south side of tower 2 at this time might dampen things a bit....if you let it! Management company was nice to work with and was responsive to a minor maintenance issue we discovered when we checked in. Overall, we loved this unit, and appreciate all the owners have done to make it a welcoming place to stay. Can't wait to return!"
