  • Loved Maui Eldorado

"We had a four families vacationing in Maui, two of the families stayed in this condo. The other two families stayed in another condo a couple buildings over. There is absolutely nothing bad to say about this condo/location/resort. We would recommend friends and family to this condo and resort and would stay here again. * Great location - there were many restaurants and stores close. * Beach was gorgeous and cabana was wonderful. There is a full kitchen, beach chairs and towels in the cabana for resort guests. We could take our lunch and drinks to the beach and keep it cold in the refrigerator. No other resorts have a cabana on the beach in Maui. * The resort is only a few minutes walk or quick ride on a golf cart to the beach. When we wanted a golf cart to take us to the beach we just called the lobby. We never had to wait for a ride and the drivers were awesome. They dropped us off and picked us up at the cabana. * The condo was comfortable, clean and well equipped for cooking and beach toys. The resort has at least two grills we were able to use during our stay. * The large pool was being remodeled, but the two smaller pools were well maintained and very clean. * The staff of the Maui Eldorado and the property manager, Becky, was great to work with. * We were able to print our return flight boarding passes in the lobby, which made it easier at the airport. We were extremely happy with everything at this condo. It was an amazing vacation! Hope to visit again soon!"

"So I did a lot of research before picking this unit to stay and must stay it was way better than we could have ever imagined ! The oceanfront, and I mean real oceanfront views, the lanai wrapping around, beautifully furnished bedroom and living room..and of course 2 bathrooms that our family of 4 truly appreciated. As an earlier review had pointed out, it is right next to the stairs leading to the beach and the ocean and that was a blessing since we did not have to trudge down long hallways to get to our condo. Being right next to Whaler village with its cute little stores was a big plus too. Can't say enough, and I am tempted to not say too may good things so we can keep this treasure to ourselves !"

  • Dream come true

"Honua Kai Resort - Hokulani Garden Suite 116 is a dream come true for me. Opening up to the Lanai I instantly smell the frangipani flowers, and know I've landed in paradise. The warm ocean breeze and the sound of the ocean waves are heavenly. Every day started with a beautiful walk in the warm sand and the waves tickling my toes. The suite was beautiful and convenient to all the amenities I needed. Every evening there is a different sunset with all the colours of the rainbow. It is truly magical."

  • Home Away From Home!

"We have been staying at the Whaler within various units for the past 20 years. While we have enjoyed all the units we have stayed in, this one was easily our favorite. As the description notes, the unit is tastefully furnished and has lots of wonderful artwork. The appliances are outstanding. A pleasant surprise was the little touches such as nice mobile fans, a couple small beach chairs and really nice boogie boards. The location of this unit is a bit of a conundrum. This corner location above Whalers Village offers sweeping views of the beach and whatever action is going on at the village, so you hear the outdoor music from the Hula Grill, Leilanies and the periodic events in the village itself. This was a plus for us since everything wraps up early. We also liked that it offers more privacy since you don't have the other tower directly across from you as you have on the courtyard side. The wind is not as strong in this location and the only direct sun on the lanai is in the late afternoon. On paper, this would be my favorite location within the entire complex. Now, the negative is that depending on the wind, the kitchen exhaust for the adjacent Hula Grill can be overpowering on the lanai. If you sit on the lanai, your hair and clothes are going to smell as if you have spent several hours in front of a bar-b-que grill. Also, you can't really open up on those days since the unit will smell for days. It all depends on the wind direction. We made the best of it and feel that the positives outweigh this one negative aspect. Also, Whalers Village is undergoing major renovations for the rest of this year. Lots of construction-related noise for any unit located on the south side of tower 2 during working hours, including weekends. It wasn't a big deal for us since we visit fairly routinely. If this was my first trip to Maui, or the trip of a lifetime, etc., staying on the south side of tower 2 at this time might dampen things a bit....if you let it! Management company was nice to work with and was responsive to a minor maintenance issue we discovered when we checked in. Overall, we loved this unit, and appreciate all the owners have done to make it a welcoming place to stay. Can't wait to return!"
