  • A week wasn't enough!

"The week we spent in this unit at the Royal Kahana flew by and we were sad to leave. We have been coming to Maui since our honeymoon there forty years ago. We have stayed at other places on Maui, both hotels and condos, including the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua, but none were as spacious or had the beautiful 180 degree view we had on this trip! One morning, while having coffee on the large lanai, we saw a double rainbow and every evening there was a sunset like you see in all of the travel magazines! The amount of room in this unit was incredible even with four people staying in it! There was a powder room for guests or children. During our week, we invited friends over for dinner (twice) and it never felt crowded. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bar/counter over looking the kitchen provided a convenient place to lay out pupus and drinks while guests watched what was cooking. It felt like home. The Royal Kahana has the usual resort amenities like a pool, workout room, tennis courts (not in use at the time) and a poolside coffee stand. For the disabled, there are ramps and elevators. There is also plenty of parking with designated handicapped spaces near the front doors. The staff we met were friendly and showed their aloha spirit. The only down side to the trip was there wasn't a sandy beach due to the geological shifting of the sand which has affected many of the West Maui beaches due to winter storms. Walking within two blocks are the Maui Brewing Company pub great for lunch and dinner; a Whaler's General Store which has the usual sundries and a deli that sells poke'; a MacDonald's for the kids (Spam and rice for breakfast anyone?) and the Hawaiian Village Coffee which opens at 5:30 a.m. and has good coffee and assorted goodies. A short drive up the highway past Napili up to Kapalua will take you to Merriman's and to Sansei Sushi. And, if you don't mind waiting in line, try The Gazebo for breakfast which overlooks Napili's lagoon. All are unique in their own way. We recommend checking out the Royal Kahana. It would be hard for us to return to Maui and not stay in this exact same unit! The owner, Tim O'Conner, was very helpful when we were planning our trip and was attentive to any questions about the property once we were there. Mahalo, Tim, for our best trip to Maui."

  • Relaxing home away from home

"This was our first trip to Maui and we couldn't have asked for better accommodations. The floor plan of the condo worked out perfectly for our group and offered us a relaxing "home" to come back to after a day of sightseeing/adventuring or a place to spend the day between adventures. We enjoyed morning coffee and meals on the covered porch, dips in the pool throughout the day, and the short walk to our private beach at the edge of the yard. Having the pool and beach on site worked out perfectly for my mother who celebrated her 76th birthday while we were there and made it possible for her to get to and from the beach whenever she felt like it - she doesn't get around as well as she use to. The condo had everything we needed including plenty of towels (both bath and beach) for our 12 days stay. We also made use of the beach chairs and boogie boards that were stored on the porch. The A/C and fans in each room kept everyone comfortable. We made numerous trips to Lahania - and saw something new every time - a great area to explore - however, take note of parking signs - 3 hour parking and they do police it. In addition to the condo, we enjoyed West Maui Parasailing and surf lessons with Maui Waveriders, both in Lahania. Highly recommend Flyin Hawaiian Zipline - awesome staff and awesome experience. And so glad we made the early morning trip to Haleakala to see the sunrise. And like I said - we always had a relaxing "home" to come back to. Highly recommend Kahanna Outriggers for a Maui vacation."

  • Great experience

"My fiancé and I stayed in this condo for 10 days and we definitely enjoyed! The condo is well furnished, clean and spacious. The view from the balcony is incredible and perfect either for breakfast or dinners. Very conviniently located and coffee shops and convenient stores right across the street. By the way, of u do not feel like going out for dinner, you can order food from sushi place called Miso Phat, which is across the street. The quality of fish is great and it is well executed. We did take out couple of times and had a romantic dinner at the balcony. Overall, we definitely recommend this condo! And I am sure we will stay there again!"
