  • Stunning view - very comfortable Condo.

"Stayed in this condo for 6 nights with friends, was a bit worried as sometimes pictures are very flattering but with this condo the pictures are very true to the actual place. As we walked in the door and saw that marvelous view our collection reaction was WOW, WOW, WOW. that Lanai was very well used, even when the weather wasn't the best and clouded over to obstruct our view of the island and ocean. Condo is very comfortable and "user friendly", we loved it and didn't want to leave. If we ever come back to Maui this is where we will stay. Booking was very easy and agents great to deal with. Would certainly recommend this condo to anyone. Pool was great as well."

  • Fantastic location for golfers and snorklers - oh and the sea turtle neighbors!

"The location of this property is terrific. It's not in the middle of a resort - which we definitely did not want - and there are bars, restaurants, small groceries with surprising selections of items all within a short walk. Kahana is surrounded by nice beaches, which we found rarely crowded in any way (possibly time of year - we were there first week in October 2016). The snorkeling right off the beaches is unbelievable. We paid for a snorkeling tour and didn't see anywhere near the variety of fish, and not one turtle, that we saw at any beach within 5 miles in either direction of the unit. The unit itself is lovely, as everyone has noted. The bed is very comfortable, the kitchen well appointed, the views of Molokai and Lana'i awesome. The variety of amenities - both indoors and outdoors - are very thoughtful. And I can't possibly say enough about the sea turtles! It's so much fun to just sit on the lanai with a cocktail and watch them float towards the sea wall shopping for dinner! The only reason I wouldn't give this rental a 5 is the ventilation. When we opened the door to the unit upon arrival, we were blasted with stiflingly hot air, even though the a/c unit was set to 60. We spent the first 3 days trying to figure out the "system" of what to open, and when, to get an actual breeze moving. I even downloaded an ambient air app to make sure it wasn't all in my head! Getting air moving usually required leaving the front door open - not just the vents - with the back sliding doors wide open. After a few nosey peeks from neighbors we decided to stop leaving the front door open! When the temperature leveled out, the unit was almost completely perfect. The sliding glass doors and screens are a wee bit tricky, but the screens pop right back in place and the doors can be conquered. Overall we had a thoroughly lovely time, much based on this little jewel! Hope to be back in the future! Thanks, Jill!"

  • Nice Condo - Wonderful Location

"We enjoyed our stay at the Kuleana Resort on Maui. The location was absolutely wonderful. There is a seawall with black lava rock just in front of the condo with small beaches to the left and right with access just steps from the front door of the building. One beach was sandy with a large tree if you wanted shade and great for swimming; the second beach had no shade and had a few more rocks but better snorkeling. If you swam over or used the sea ladder to get in the area in front of the seawall there were lots of fish and some coral. This was also the area where we saw sea turtles up on the rocks trying to eat the seaweed. From the patio on the condo, you could look down into the water and see the turtles under the water. We appreciated the ease of getting to the condo and the terrific directions and info sent to us before our visit as well as the book of local info (loved Maui Brewing Company!) in the condo. We felt that the beach and the location were absolutely the stars for this vacation rental and we would rent it again, but it is due for a little TLC. On the positive side, the Tommy Bahama beach chairs were awesome and the boogie boards (?) were also fun just to lay on in the water, and the cooler was great but we didn't use it since we were so close to the condo. We picked up some noodles to float around on and left them for the next visitors so the beach supplies rate an "A." The kitchen is well stocked with things to cook with but it might be time for some new flatware and drinking glasses. The patio furniture was comfortable and clean. On the negative, the carpet in the bedroom definitely needs to be replaced and that in the front room is matted and probably will be ready to replace soon. The lock box in the bedroom closet was not working when we were there. Just a few other things we noticed (kitchen cabinets that could use a good wipe down around the handles, wobbly leg on the coffee table, lots of use showing on furniture in the bedroom and front room, a couple of rusty pieces of patio stuff in the flower box on the patio) show that the condo is well used and could use a little more in the way of maintenance and maybe updating. With that said, we found the kitchen and bathroom to be clean and looking good and the mattress is really comfy. We would have wished for a little more space but in Hawaii, who stays inside anyway??"

  • Wonderful Stay Overall

"We stayed for 12 days part of which we had 6 people in the condo. 3 Adults and 3 kids. We were all very comfortable and found the full sized kitchen filled with everything that we needed very useful. The condo also had 2 umbrellas, a boogie board, sand castle stuff. The kids loved it! We packed light and made use of the washer and dryer. The only down fall we had during out trip was finding a leak in the down stairs bathroom which I know Sue will fix asap. I also had to contact the new property manager a couple times for some small things like the gas to the bbq's not being on at 2pm and was meet with a rather abrupt rude response. I chose not to speak with her after that. We visit this resort yearly and found that a lot of the rules were changed, which we didn't find beneficial to those who liked quiet time. Overall though we still love this place and this unit is one of the more beautiful units on the property. Sue takes great care of it. Only complaint on the unit would be to have the same strong fans she has in the living room in the bed rooms upstairs or stronger room fans lol we were supper hot, so we didn't go to bed till late. This unit doesn't face the trades so you have to get use to the heat."
