  • Lovely, quiet condo

"This condo is in a very nice golf resort community. It is close to Kapalua Bay for swimming and snokeling and there are three excellent restaurants on the properties and several swimming pools. You can get everywhere on the island within an hour or two. Hana is about 3 hours out. It is higher up and gets a bit more rain than the rest of the west side so it is a bit cooler than in Lahaina. The beds are very comfortable and everything was well maintained. We enjoyed our mornings and evenings on the lanai. Thank goodness for AC. It was very hot after the Tropical storm blew by. You do have to climb some stairs getting to the condo so my recommendation for Age 55+ is edited if you can climb stairs without a problem. We had some problems with the TV reception which was being fixed as we left. Should be good for anyone following us. It was a very good stay on Maui."

  • Rest, Relaxation, Privacy, PEACEFUL

"We have had a long and hard year, which includes the death of our father. Before he died, we had a bucket list for what we would do when he got better. A family vacation in Maui was #1 on the list. After the dust settled, we decided to book the vacation in his memory, and I was appointed to locate the house. Thankfully, we found this one, and it was all that we hoped for and more. It has a ton of space, so we all had room to do our own thing. We had 3 teenagers and 4 adults. It's got loads of outdoor privacy, so we enjoyed the deck and pool to our heart's content. All of us with jobs work in customer service, so having peace, quiet and privacy was huge for us. We loved driving down the hill to hang at Kaanapali in the morning for snorkeling, and then half the group would come home to chill by the pool, while the remainder rode afternoon waves or explored other beaches. There are loads of beach accessories and towels, which made life easy. We went to Black Rock often for sunset, and it was just spectacular. We went to the Maui fish market many times and enjoyed family meals, grilling, laughing and lounging on comfy couches while the kids played pool. Bonus- the house had a great deal of staples, so we did not have to buy oil, sugar, etc. Two minor suggestions- get Roku for the TVs, so people can stream Netflix. Consider upgrading the queen beds- 2 were pretty firm and could benefit from a topper. Otherwise we would totally come back here, loved and appreciated all the customer support we got thru the process and feel well rested and relaxed after this much needed vacation !!!"

  • Best Ever

"We have never stayed so close to the water as we did in this unit. It is right on the beach, and I mean right on the beach. The fact that this is a corner unit, you have views everywhere. We ate all our meals on the lanai and watched the sunset ever night. The interior was tastefully done and looked new. This was our first time to The Whaler and it's location, next to Whalers Village, was very nice and handy to shopping and restaurants."
