  • Spectacular Oceanfront View Overlooking Lana'i

"I am writing this review sitting on the covered lanai literally fifteen feet from the edge of the ocean listening to the crashing of waves, SPECTACULAR!!! The bottom line: Would we stay in this townhouse again? Absolutely, in a heartbeat! The price while not exactly inexpensive is a pretty good "value", especially for Maui. The close location to Lahaina is also quite excellent. Several things other reviewers mentioned are somewhat true. The close proximity to the water is why I would not recommend for anyone with small children. I am an experienced ocean swimmer and entry into the ocean from the two access points is difficult and somewhat challenging due to the large rocks, many covered in algae or moss (don't even attempt without good surf shoes). However, this inconvenience is easily overcome by the close proximity to Puamana Beach Park which is less than 100 feet away (there is a gate you can use). Puamana Beach Park has a small but nice sandy beach to enter the water. There are usually a lot of surfers (especially the stand up paddle board surfers), so it seems a little safer if you are going for a swim or just want to frolic in the water (there are no county lifeguards like you find at some of the bigger Hawaii beaches). One other note worth mentioning. The townhouse is beautiful with the Hawaiian Koa wood and several Hawaiian quilts handmade by the townhouse owner and does have three upstairs bedrooms. The one bedroom facing the ocean with the lanai is spectacular and the other two bedrooms are smaller and being on the front side of the house are suspect to road noise from Hawaii hwy. 30. The noise can be alleviated by keeping the windows closed. This only works well if you don't mind sleeping with the bedroom door open and the people sleeping in the oceanfront bedroom do the same, thereby allowing a nice nighttime breeze and the most wonderful sound to sleep by: the sound of crashing waves. Again the overall rating is spectacular, Mahalo!"

  • Gorgeous Views

"Maui is wonderful. It's hard to complain about anything. Overall our stay was great! The view is top notch. We saw sea turtles most mornings and you could snorkel right at this beach. My only complaint is there is no air conditioning which didn't turn out to be a deal breaker, of course, but this condo is advertised as having A/C on so we were expecting it. The trade winds helped cool down the condo each evening and we were out exploring during the hottest part of the day. The condo is well appointed with everything we needed during our stay. Away from the busiest tourist areas with plenty of good places to eat. The beach chairs and cooler were a nice little bonus. Hit up The Gazebo down the road for the best Banana Macadamia Nut Pancakes on Maui! And Miso Phat right across the street for some delicious sushi. Be prepared to wait in traffic on the island it's definitely a time bandit at certain times. The area between Lahaina and Maalaea is the worst section we found on the West Coast but you have great views of the the ocean while you're stuck in traffic."

  • Vacation in Luxury

"My family recently stayed in Unit 1025, and it was incredible. The unit was amazing. Views from every window! The bbq on the patio was a big bonus. My wife, myself, and our three children all fit comfortably in the master bedroom. The unit had a pack'n'play and a high chair, which was a big relief since we had our 10 month old daughter with us. My three young children were in heaven, they did not want to leave. Steve and Barry were very helpful, and were ready to help with any issues that arose. I will never stay in a hotel again. Honau Kai is the best. The pools are very nice, and the waterslide was a big attraction for my kids. The drinks served by Duke's restaurant around the pool were a big attraction for the grown ups. The mai tai's are a great price during happy hour. The food at Duke's may be a bit pricy, but was worth it. There were lots of beach chairs in the unit as well as boogie boards and other beach toys. The beach is just steps away. If you have young kids, the baby beach is just a short drive away. If you are considering going to Maui, book this unit! You will be happy you did."
