  • Fantastic views; comfortable home away from home

"Stayed here on our honeymoon. It was perfect! The pics are accurate, the views are amazing. The floor-to-ceiling window and surrounding mirrors make it feel like you're walking on water. Nice big balcony; we saw turtles swimming right in front of the resort each morning. Being on the 7th floor is just above the palm trees which would likely obstruct your view otherwise, but low enough where you still feel close to the water and get the full effect of "oceanfront". We fell asleep to the sound of crashing ocean waves each night. Comfortable bed and furniture. FULL amenities - anything you could possibly need is there, including bonuses like beach and snorkeling gear! Kathy & David's guest book/guide book is awesome, giving you all the local grocery stores, coffee shops, fish market (highly recommend for buying fresh fish to cook in!), best snorkeling spots, restaurants, etc. We took several of their recommendations and weren't disappointed! Plus the resort has a nice pool, spa, & BBQs to use and lounge chairs along the water. Great location: a little more remote, away from the big crowds closer to Whalers Village and Lahaina but only a short distance from there when you do want to head into town. It's a silly thing, but the shower had terrific water pressure (this is something lacking in most hotels). Overall, our stay was extremely pleasant and we're glad we chose the Mahana!!"

  • Comfortable and Convenient

"The building is older but very comfortable and quite convenient. The unit met our needs perfectly! All furnishings are up to expectations and the balcony view is quite beautiful. Having AC in Hawaii may seem excessive but the week we were on Maui it averaged in the 90s. The AC was welcome when returning from the beach or the pool. There is a small washer / dryer that we used almost every day so you do not have to over-pack. Unit was very quiet - we never heard any of our neighbors once. The Kahana area is just north of Kaanapali and all of the resorts and shopping / dining you could want but far enough away to be quieter and peaceful. Since it is a studio best for a couple or a couple with one small child (crib age). The owner was very easy to work with. All details were handled immediately and to our satisfaction."

  • Great room, lanai, resort and support

"The room did not disappoint. It was clean, current, open, with a great lanai and view. Honua Kai offered exactly what our family was looking for, with 4 pools, enough pool chairs, and good poolside service, food and drinks from Duke's. The fitness facility was adequate, but a bit crowded at times. The beach isn't as big as it used to be, but was also less crowded so it worked out fine. We look forward to our next visit, and would recommend Hokulani 409, Honua Kai, and Maui Westside to others."

  • Beautiful condo

"Great place to stay, every thing we needed. Kitchen well equipped, plenty of towels and a nice surprise to find a cooler available for our use. This was our first time staying on the south side of the tower, so you do get all of the afternoon sun on the lanai, so most days it was too hot to sit out there in the heat of the day. But, it was still nice having the doors open and feeling the warmth. If I could complain about anything, the blow dryer only bows cold air, but I don't use one much anyway. Highly recommend this condo. Oh and The Whaler it's self is always beautifully landscaped and maintained as well as great people working here. Was happy to see a lot of the same people still working here from last year. Thanks Janine and Mark"
