Great view but a bit dated

4 of 5
Stayed for 4 days in March. The view is truly fantastic. We spent most of our evenings outdoors. The exteriors do need repairs. The Jacuzzi is non functional. The pool cleaning device was left in the pool the entire time we were there. There are no pool toys etc.No out door music . Bathrooms are updated. Rest of the house is very dated especially the bedrooms. Air conditioning is extra(though they did waive it for us I think). The house has almost no supplies (1 kitchen roll!). The garage and basement is locked and off limits. Compared to other house we stayed at in Honolulu, this house was less well stocked and had much more rules.Thermostat is under lock and key! Close to the town of Lahaina, which we loved.Plenty of restaurants. Great access with car or Uber.

All you could ask for...

5 of 5
We stayed at the Makila Plantation home this spring. The home is idyllic and the setting provides exceptional views of the ocean in front and mountains behind. Everything you need is on the property and the suite is luxurious and spacious. With a huge lanai outside the door and prevailing breezes it's comfortable and relaxing. Jan is always available while being low profile and Kiwi her Welsh terrier entertained us in her role as surrogate pup. If you don't want to battle with crowded resorts at half of what the resorts charge while enjoying privacy and comfort, Makila Plantation Home is a no brainer.
