  • Excellent stay at Dixie's Home-away-from home!

"Dixie's condo had everything we needed for our stay on Molokai...it was very well equipped and had all the comforts of home! Dixie was a great hostess and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. I choose Wavecrest Resort for the convenience of the location that was needed for the purpose of my visit. The east end of Molokai is the most beautiful area on the island. Dixie's condo is located in a very quiet location with a great view of the ocean. Enjoying coffee on the lanai in the early morning, watching the sunrise over Maui was an excellent way to start our day! My trip was mostly a working trip, cleaning my property a couple of miles down the road. With a limited amount of time to get the work done, the days were long and exhausting, I was so thankful to have a short drive home, a great shower, a BBQ to grill our supper and a super comfy bed to rest my hurting body! It was also great to have wifi to be able to stay in close contact with my family. Thank you Dixie for sharing your condo with us! Mahalo, Tammy Moreland"

  • We had fun!

"We rented this cottage and my parents did the other. We enjoyed the view...wonderful! The cottages were simple, and yet comfortable and calming. I would say that in both cottages we had so many ants, and in my parents cottage it looked like a lot of termites. Maybe it is was time for the exterminator. However, again, the view was lovely in both and they were both clean. We enjoyed Molokai and had a great time. However, having been to Molokai many years ago, it was a bit sad to see it in the state is is now. Many of the buildings are run down and that is not the way it was before. From the various properties that we saw on Molokai at the same price, the Dunbar Cottages are the best value, to be sure."

  • 35 Year Wait

"My wife and I celebrated 35 years of her putting up with me with a trip to Hawaii. We researched destinations and found Molokai and the Dunbar Cottages. We made a great choice. The people of Molokai made us feel welcome, but they don't cater to tourists. They cater to guests... as long as you act like one. There are no beach shows. If there's a luau, it means a neighbor is cooking a pig. If there is a hula dance it's a group of students of history carrying on the old ways. There are incredible sites that you can drive or hike to, but instead of a staged attraction you find families camping and tailgating. This is there home, which they gladly share. If you need entertainment go elsewhere. If you want to see Hawaii we recommend Molokai. If you need a crowd go to Maui. We could see the lights and traffic from Dunbar. In fact we saw more cars looking at Maui through the binoculars than we saw all week from our cottage. The lanai - porch - was perfect for mornings and evenings. Under the lanai was a comfortable 70 degrees during the heat of the day and we moved in and out of the sun as we desired. And the beach at the cottage is private. Your closest neighbor is just under a half mile away. If you have more questions please ask Leslie for our contact info."
