  • Awesome and Good Location

"1st time to Hawaii. Stayed here 9 nights. Met Terri once and spoke to Mike twice. Both seem like really nice folks. Mike seems like he would have some good stories to tell. We hardly spent any time here during the day because we planned things to do every day. Even the days we didn't have something pre-planned we just got in the car and randomly went places and then came back in the evening, showered, and then went to bed. However this location would also be a perfect place to relax away the day. Mike/Terri did come in and open the windows in the afternoon and change linens/towels while we were gone. They provided some starter foods like cereal, juice, bread and other things which was very nice because we ate mostly cereal for breakfast in preparation for eating all kinds of other foods for lunch & dinner. 1st thing you notice is the view to Pearl Harbor and surrounding area is quite picturesque. They have a beautifully landscaped yard and a nice pool which we did use once. Accommodations were excellent and the provided food stuffs lasted us all week as we mainly ate breakfast in the room and then ate out the rest of the time. The neighborhood is very quiet and the night view is pretty good of the harbor. This place is about as centrally located as you can get in my opinion, but you will need to have your own transportation. Honolulu is close by, North Shore isn't too far and the scenic drive on H3 to the east side of the island is close by as well. Perfect place to stay if your plan is to go all over the island. Aiea also has a lot of good places to eat nearby. Ramen, Poke, Korean, Japanese, Seafood, etc.. all within a couple of miles. Overall, you can't really beat the price & location in my opinion. If you want to be right on the beach then by all means blow your money that way but if being on the beach is not a requirement I would stay here. Well, for couples mostly. There's also a futon that would sleep another but I feel that this is a place for couples. We had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend Rainbow Inn! We hope to return soon for another stay."

  • Just perfect!

"This place is is Clean Clean Clean! The bed is soooo comfortable. It has everything you need but really all I need is the coffee maker. I can't live without my coffee every morning so thank you Mark. The hotel is cute and carry a sense of peace as you enter and the staffs are very friendly. We didn't use the pool since the beach is a block and a half away. You can catch the bus right in front and go everywhere around the island. The owner is friendly and always just a phone call away if you have any question. We wanted to stay longer but unfortunately it was booked so we have to move to another rental. I highly recommended this home away from home to everyone I know."

  • Diamond Head jungle cottage

"I travel a lot for business, and always stay in hotels. Because I needed to be in Hawaii for a couple of weeks, I booked this cottage as an alternative. It was perfect - it is in the most amazing neighborhood on Oahu and literally walking distance (about one mile) to the beaches of Waikiki. (Neighborhood beach is just two blocks away.) However, this cottage is totally quiet and secluded; surrounded by beautiful foliage and landscape. The cottage itself was so much better than I expected and than the pictures - expenses weren't spared when this structure was restored and Jo had it spotless when I arrived. I would not only recommend this place to anyone who can handle the steps to get to it, but I plan to rent it twice per year while I'm in HI on business (as long as it's available). Thanks so much for everything, Jo!"

  • Wonderful stay. Beautiful unit in an excellent location. Outstanding and responsive owner

"We stayed a month over the Christmas and New Years Holidays. It was a combination of work and play. Diane, the owner is extremely pleasant to work with and very responsive. She also keeps the unit incredibly well stocked with everything one could possibly need, including additional batteries, cables of all sorts, paper, printer, etc. Her unit is particularly tastefully decorated in rich warm woods and very well organized and practical and very comfortable. She has electric shades, high end appliances including Samsung washer and dryers, three televisions, very soft carpeting and beautiful tile. I had an issue with the ice maker and emailed her at 9pm. The next morning, the repairman was there. He commented that this unit was one of the nicest in the building. I couldn't agree more. I made the mistake of stocking up at Costco on essentials prior to arriving. Diane had plenty of coffee pods, cleaners, TP and paper towels so I ended up leaving lots of supplies I didn't use. The building itself is very well maintained. Wonderful large infinity pool - great for laps. I didn't use the BBQ or tennis courts. My daughter and I walked and/or biked to the Ala Moana park very often to exercise and swim in the ocean. It is much quieter than Waikiki although we did bike there to rent a SUP. Note of caution about biking. Biking on the sidewalks is not allowed in Waikiki itself but is allowed in the parks and most of Honolulu. Lots of restaurants within walking distance, including a movie theater. The unit was exactly as she described and very clean. The other tenants were all very friendly. The parking was especially nice to have. On New Year's Eve, I was working but my daughter saw over 10 fireworks from the unit. The view and sunrises are incredible. I am missing it already. This was the best rental experience I have ever had. Thank you Diane. Ted"
