  • Beautiful place, beautiful location, beautiful island.

"Love this island every time we come back. Such a beautiful place, almost didn't go home after our holiday... We stayed for a total of 11 nights. Had up to 6 people staying in the place at one time (Wendy was very accommodating), though most of the time it was less than that. Even with 6, it still felt very roomy. Fully equipped kitchen and living room, including a coffee maker that was integral to some mornings. :) Super close to everything "downtown" Haleiwa, 10 minute walk max to most of the stores. But also not too busy since you're off the main road. There was a bit of traffic in front of the house, but nothing that bothered us (we are city folk though). Lots of great coffee places, restaurants, surf shops etc in Haleiwa. It is a bit touristy, but it's hard to escape that. You face the harbor, cool to see all the boats going in and out. And a 30 second walk to the beach, which was probably the best part. Great for surfing, lots of locals that go there, does get a bit busy when the wave's good. There's a nice park there too, picnics or sports or anything else that suits your fancy. Lots of great hikes around as well, we did several. One out by the NW airport (gliding was also really cool!), bunch around the east coast, and a bunch more down in the SE quadrant of the island. There is a bit of driving involved, but you can make a day out of the trips, just avoid rush hour times. Can also recommend Hanauma Bay for snorkeling, or even scuba if you have your own gear / rent some. After every day it was always nice coming back to this awesome house though, it did feel very much like a home away from home. Cook up some dinner or head into Haleiwa for dinner, relax around the house after a "hard" days work, and pass out in comfy beds, ready to wake up and repeat the next day. One small note though, and you get this wherever you stay on the North Shore, there's a lot of feral roosters. And they start early. Best to bring earplugs. ;)"

  • Great Time in a Great House!

"We stayed here with friends before, during and after our wedding on Oahu. The house was very nice, homey, roomy, well equipped with everything you need for the beach including towels, and a well stocked kitchen with everything to make whatever meal you'd like (minus the food of course, which was easily purchased at local grocery stores, or Costco nearby). Since it was Mid-June, it was very hot in the house except for the 2 bedrooms which have a/c, however even with the trade winds, the rest of the house was very very hot especially during mid day to evenings. There are ceiling fans in main room, kitchen and bedrooms, but there really needs to be another a/c in the living area since the other 2 are upstairs in bedrooms and cannot cool the entire house even with the portable fans. Overall, we had a fantastic time here, and I would recommend new curtains for the sliding back door, and rent during other times of the year that aren't quite so hot. As other reviews said, the neighborhood does look sketchy, however, it is just local working class people, and older retired locals. We were never worried about things being stolen or taken from the house while we were away. We were away a good majority of each day, and the location is great if you want some place quiet, easy shopping and parking for free! We hung out a lot in the backyard, had a cookout using the grill for hamburgers and hot dogs, it was perfect! I would give this house 5 stars, but with the massive heat inside the house, I just couldn't. However, everything else was perfect, great WiFi, DVD player, TV's were large and worked great, and the roomy kitchen was awesome! Beds were extremely comfortable which is a huge plus! (Safe in master bedroom closet isn't usable, however we felt very safe here without using it.) You should probably get beach shoes for walking on the beach as the sand is very course and does wear your soles of your feet down quickly. We gathered Sea Glass and some tiny shells on the beach each day to make some crafty items to remember our wonderful stay here! The lady who manages the house for Rick is amazing, she would come over and help with anything immediately and always very friendly. Neighbors to the right were very friendly as well! I have a friend who I recommended the house to and she's bringing her family in December! I hope she has half of the fun we had at this very special house! It truly was a wonderful experience! Thank you Rick for such a wonderful property! Mahalo!"

  • Our 10th year of staying here

"Terri and Mike are the best hosts ever. The inn is amazing, private and quiet, but with a stunning view and wonderful pool. Need a car, but can zip over Oahu from any direction within minutes...........away from the screaming tourists and ticky tacky stuff"

  • Beautiful and comfortable! Best deal on the island!

"There were 5 of us total. 2 adults and 3 kids, ages 5, 12, and 14. We fit here COMFORTABLY! It was very spacious and warm. We ate every meal standing around the kitchen's island, laughing, singing, enjoying our vacation. The lanai is quite and peaceful as it overlooked the "quiet" pool. The booking process through the owner was seamless and secure. Patrick, our host, welcomed us to the condo, showed us around the property, as well as the unit. The unit has a stackable washer and dryer so we only brought about 5 days worth of clothes for our 10 day stay. Plenty of dishes to use, very nice appliances, and a closet FULL of all beach/pool toys you could need. Umbrella, floats, boogie boards, noodles, etc. We even ended up leaving one of our donut floats just so we could pack a bit less for the return trip. We debated on whether or not to rent a vehicle. We ended up renting one, which was perfect because we made several trips to the grocery store and we were able to prepare meals instead of eating out all of the time. There isn't a single thing I would change about our stay. It was perfect and we plan to stay here again sometime."
