  • Perfect spot for a Family holiday vacation

"My family and I (3 kids) stayed in the single story private house steps away from the beach for Thanksgiving! It slept us all comfortably, an ample amount of beach toys, kayaks and space outside to enjoy the weather. Very nice patio or lanai in hawaiian is comfortable and we grilled and had quality time as a family. Lori was helpful with any further accommodations we needed. I will definitely stay here in the future. It was amazing for the kids, my husband and I had quality time, and the beauty of Lanikai doesn't get any better!"

  • Very nice home, very comfortable

"I was quite nervous prior to getting there since this was our first VRBO stay, ever. Still, Kiana had made the effort and had sent out a couple of communications a few weeks prior to our arrival and also a couple days before, asking us when our flight would be arriving, etc. I was also worried that house would be close to a highway and about noise, etc. All these fears were unfounded; Kiana made sure she was there when we were arriving and showed us the house which was bigger than I expected and extremely tidy and comfortable. Super clean, had all the advertised amenities. Even the small balcony was understated in the property description; it is big enough to sit whenever you want to, especially in the morning to drink your coffee and look at the mountain shrouded in fog. Absolutely no noise despite the proximity to highway 61. The neighborhood is super quiet, at night there is a constant breeze coming from the ocean; we slept with the windows open and never felt we had to use the air conditioning despite being there in August, arguably the hottest and most humid month for Hawaii. Kitchen was well equipped, bathrooms had plenty of very clean towels. It was like our own home. Kiana provided all sorts of beach items such as boogie boards, goggle, beach chairs, a beach umbrella. Nothing was missing. The Kailua beach is a short 7-10 minute ride by car. You can also walk into town, if you want to and if you do not mind a 20-minute walk. Plenty of small restaurants to dine in, a Whole Foods is nearby but beware it is 2x as expensive as Whole Foods in the mainland. Overall, a nice house to stay, quiet area and a great base to use for your daily excursions to wherever you go. I will definitely look for Kiana's house if we come back to Oah'u."

  • Clean and close to the beach

"The home was very clean and had everything you would need for your stay. It was nice to have the washer and dryer there as well as all the kitchen applicances. There is a target within close driving distance that we used for groceries and several local restaurants in the closeby town of Kailua. There is no AC, which we knew based on the description, but that really is not an issue in hawaii as long as you have fans . The temperature at night is cool and breezy and the fans pull in the breeze. Box fans were provided and we slept very well. I would agree with the below review on some curtains perhaps. There are some iced out shades on the windows but we weren't sure how much it blocks out. There was some construction going on in the day on the roof next door so some curtains would have made it a bit more comfortable to change in the room. We visited both early beaches and they were beautiful and relaxing. We hiked the pillbox trail by the house which has amazing views of the area. Nalu health bar and cafe, Mahaloha burger, Cinnamon's for breakfast, all in Kailua were our favorite eats and reasonably priced. Calvin and Susie (if you have dogs), is a cute local store selling dog food, treats, and accessories including local stuff to take back home for your pets! We visited the DOle plantation and the Polynesian center which were both a great and fun experience. Must have pineapple ice cream at DOLE and eat at Pounders at the Polynesian center. Their fish was delish. There was a surfing competition on the north shore so we drove by and saw that for a bit. Incredible what these surfers can do! Our friend that came with us went to the north west coast to snorkel with the sharks with a conservation group and really enjoyed the educational experience. Pearl Harbor of course speaks for itself and is an important place to visit. Very historical and emotional, worth the early trip. We loved Oahu and enjoyed our stay. Would recommend and love to return someday!"

  • Perfect, perfect, perfect!

"Although quite familiar with Oahu, we'd only stayed in hotels. Wanting something different this time, we were fortunate to discover this Lovely Tropical Hideaway. Carla and John and Harley were welcoming hosts. The apartment and lanai are clean, lovely, quiet and comfortable; the birds and the breezes so pleasant. It had everything we needed --- and more. We didn't have to ask for a thing, and we had no criticisms. It's in a quiet and pretty neighborhood, easy walking or short drives to shopping, restaurants, and beaches. There was easy access to the highways and freeway for our many fun activities all over Oahu, but it was so comforting at the end of each day to head for our Kailua "home". We will highly recommend it to friends and family and hope to use it again soon!"
