  • Perfect!

"120 steps to the beach (I counted). If you care about the aloha spirit, this is the place. If you want fast-paced nightlife, don't bother. Lanikai Beach is as good as it gets anywhere: powdery, clean sand and a mellow vibe. Barney will tell you which way to walk for decent snorkeling. The house has real history to it and is comfortable and has everything you need. Terrific hosts. You can walk to Kailua town for breakfast (40 minute stroll to Morning Brew; half that to the Kalapawai Market). The Lanikai Pillbox trail is right around the corner. Kayak or SUP rentals at Kailua Beach Adventures also walkable."

  • Very nice place!

"We had a very pleasant stay. It is very clean. I was reading a lot of reviews from other studios saying that they found cockroaches and dirty. I was a bit scared. This is a SAFE place in terms of cleaning and it looks better than in the pictures. It is very private too. The studio has a lot of kitchen appliances. Tina is a very nice hostess. She was willing to help us with a lot of info we needed. We were pleasantly surprised that she has provided us with beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels and a cooler. She also has bikes for rent. There is also a shower outside in the pathway towards the studio for rinsing the sand out. For a studio located at 5 min walking distance from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world this is anybody’s best place to stay. We will definitely go back to this place."

  • Location, location, location!

"I visited Kailua last week and stayed in the upstairs studio unit with an amazing view from the lanai. Sue was very helpful in getting everything reserved and even helped me switch to a larger unit when my sister decided to join us. The location of this house couldn't have been any better! It is on Kailua Rd. and is literally minutes away from 2 of the most beautiful beaches you have ever seen as well as plenty of shops and restaurants. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. They even provided beach towels and chairs, which we used daily. We had a very adventurous vacation that included hiking to waterfalls, floating in tidepools and kayaking from Lanikai beach to the Mokes. At the end of each day we slept like babies and woke up refreshed. I would 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone. Thanks for everything! Kristy - Austin, TX"

"Having grown up in Hawaii, I am always looking for a place to stay when I go back with my family that will make me feel like I am truly home and give them the experience of the real Hawaii. This is the place!!! On a quiet cul-de-sac and a minute down the path to the beach but close to a little store where one can buy most anything, this house is in the perfect location. The pool is wonderful and the yard is spacious enough for games etc.. One can enjoy the open floor plan and huge kitchen even with many adults and the bedrooms are big and air conditioned. The house is well stocked with everything you need for the beach, making meals and TV's…if you want to be inside. We enjoyed sitting around the pool and watching all the wonderful birds and friendly little geckos. The house is very private and surrounded by lush plants and flowering trees that really make it feel like it is your very own home. John has created the serene feel that one seeks to have when living Hawaiian style and we all felt the thoughtfulness he has put into making this an exceptional experience for his visitors. We were thankful that we could stay here and create the kind of memories that last forever. Mahalo John for the experience of Lihikai!!"
