  • Good

"We enjoyed our stay in Kailua. Laurel was very friendly. We knew if we had any concerns we could go to her. The bed was great. Nice linen."

  • Great getaway

"We found the Ginger Gazebo to have everything we needed. The room was personalized with lots of bright, creative touches as well as the owner's artwork. The King size bed was comfortable and the air conditioner in the bedroom worked great. There were bikes and boogie boards to use when we needed them. Overall, good experience!"

  • Location was best feature

"The Good: a short path walk to one of the world's nicest beaches, the location is ideal. The accommodation is a good size for 2 adults, particularly the bathroom. The adjacent yard is well-kept and private, although there is another rental property sharing the space. Might have been different had there been screaming children running around. Parking available and the neighbourhood was very quiet. This was a great place to spend a week of R & R. We did not use the pool - in fact we didn't see anyone use it - but it looked nice. Washer and dryer right outside the door came in handy. We didn't use the air con so can't comment. The Bad: kitchen is very small, so don't plan to cook much. The mattress and bedding could use and upgrade - not exactly hotel grade. I would recommend new pillows and comforter. TV was smallish. Place was very dated. Biggest issue was the musty-smelling carpet. Who puts carpet in a beach house? We left the windows and doors open as much as possible but the carpet needs to go. Verdict: Good value and strengths outweigh shortcomings. Location is the key to this relaxing apartment. We will visit again."

  • Perfect location and great space

"This was our first VBRO and Denise was great at communicating and facilitating the process. The area is on the 2nd floor and is spacious and nice. There are a lot of the basics already in the kitchen and the AC works great in the bedroom. It is walkable to downtown and I even walked to Kailua Beach with the kids, though it is probably just short of a mile. Overall a great experience."
