  • Clean and close to the beach

"The home was very clean and had everything you would need for your stay. It was nice to have the washer and dryer there as well as all the kitchen applicances. There is a target within close driving distance that we used for groceries and several local restaurants in the closeby town of Kailua. There is no AC, which we knew based on the description, but that really is not an issue in hawaii as long as you have fans . The temperature at night is cool and breezy and the fans pull in the breeze. Box fans were provided and we slept very well. I would agree with the below review on some curtains perhaps. There are some iced out shades on the windows but we weren't sure how much it blocks out. There was some construction going on in the day on the roof next door so some curtains would have made it a bit more comfortable to change in the room. We visited both early beaches and they were beautiful and relaxing. We hiked the pillbox trail by the house which has amazing views of the area. Nalu health bar and cafe, Mahaloha burger, Cinnamon's for breakfast, all in Kailua were our favorite eats and reasonably priced. Calvin and Susie (if you have dogs), is a cute local store selling dog food, treats, and accessories including local stuff to take back home for your pets! We visited the DOle plantation and the Polynesian center which were both a great and fun experience. Must have pineapple ice cream at DOLE and eat at Pounders at the Polynesian center. Their fish was delish. There was a surfing competition on the north shore so we drove by and saw that for a bit. Incredible what these surfers can do! Our friend that came with us went to the north west coast to snorkel with the sharks with a conservation group and really enjoyed the educational experience. Pearl Harbor of course speaks for itself and is an important place to visit. Very historical and emotional, worth the early trip. We loved Oahu and enjoyed our stay. Would recommend and love to return someday!"

  • We had a wonderful stay!

"This was a very comfortable accommodation for us and worked out just GREAT! The extra sleeper works for a younger person, a week was A OK. The hosts were so kind and generous. VERY clean here. We had our privacy, location, comforts, beaches and restaurants! The breezes through the room were lovely. I did not get much home cooking, is time, but there is a well set-up kitchen. Thank you Norm and Millie!! Hope to be back in the Spring! We recommend; Cinnamons, Kalapawai Cafe & Deli, Crepes No Ka Oi, and Teddy's Burgers."

  • Kukui House

"We stayed here for a week with our extended families. We found the grounds & home well kept & clean. The caretaker was super helpful in taking care of our needs & was very professional. We would stay here again. Did I mention the white sand beach across the street? It was a wonderful property for multiple families as well."

  • Beautiful property!

"Everything about this property met and exceeded expectations. The pictures from the ad and property matched and were beautiful The views spectacular, the home was clean, updated, and in great shape. The amenities were as promised and the space was more than adequate for entertaining for a holiday dinner (Thanksgiving). Candy (property manager) was available, proactive and responded quickly when we needed her for a quick second In service on the tv. All bathrooms were completely updated, the linens were higher end (above hotel quality) and the feel of the property was as if you had arrived in a friend's home for a visit. The home gave an upscale island feel without the "pink whale"feel you see in many properties. The art was lovely and the owner's choice of furniture gave the sense of a home well appointed from travels abroad giving the feeling of Raffles in Singapore, and Hemingway coming home. All in all a great experience and a home we would rent again when we return to Hawaii."
