  • Special place!!!!

"Love this place, very homey and comfortable, many different little hangout areas. I love that it is kept as a casual beach house, but has all the comforts. Especially enjoyed the open air family room for dinners. In the morning the little deck off the kitchen is great for sunrise coffee for the early birds .will love to come back soon!"

  • April Rememberence Dave and Monica M.

"This review is long over do. Long's at Lanakai is something very special. Our young family spent Easter of 2014 gathering as part of a remembrance for our parents. Lanakai beach was a favorite spot for them. So much so they had a painting of the Mokoluas which hung in our kitchen at home to greet them every morning for coffee. They made many friends up and down the beach. If you are in search a place to decompress, a great home base, access to the number one beach in the country, and a kid freindly environment this is the place. Breath taking views, early morning canoes ,a private seawall frequented by crabs, fish and turtles make Long's at Lanikai the perfect retreat. Rick was an excellent host and always available if you needed him; although you rarely want for anything in "paradise". We long for the Mokoluas and ocean breezes and hope to return someday soon. Mahalo, David and Monica M."

  • Wedding memories

"Immaculately clean, and nicely decorated, I highly recommend this property. We rented for 10 days while attending our son's wedding. This cute yellow cottage is tucked in a beautifully landscaped yard with a variety of plants that my toddler grandson and I walked every morning. The city of Kailua and it's beaches are wonderful. Nancy was a great host, we had everything we needed, and have a lifetime of memories."

  • Great location+room+price

"The house is very easy to find as it is located on a main street and had parking right out front. Like the other reviews mention, the side door entrance has a tight walkway due to the washer + dryer and some plumbing, but realistically, it will only be an inconvenience on arrival and departure when squeezing all suitcases through. I was grateful to be able to do laundry and come back home with no pile of dirty laundry to worry about!!! There is a spacious closet filled with hangers, an iron, beach towels, and other things for the beach. The kitchenette had everything we needed to prepare breakfast before heading out for the day. There is a wall AC, fan tower, and ceiling fan that cooled the room down within minutes. Since the house does face a somewhat busy street, we closed all the windows that faced that way on the first day and between that and the AC+ fans, the noise never bothered us. We noticed that you can also hear the children that live in the house through the studio’s bathroom window. We only heard them while getting ready in the bathroom and could not hear them through the rest of the studio. I didn’t mind it at all and thought the kid’s conversations were funny/cute. Overall, this room had MORE than what was necessary for our stay and was conveniently located on my favorite side of the island with only a 5 min drive to my favorite beach."
