  • Honu Heaven is Heaven

"I can't say enough about this property. Its perfect, extremely private, 221 steps out the front door to one of the best beaches in HI. Even closer if you walk out the back. This is the kind of place that if you want to walk around without clothes and never leave the place you can. The furniture is very comfortable. I napped on the couches in the late afternoon in extreme comfort. With the windows open, that Hawaii ocean breeze just floats through the house. Keep all of the windows open. No bugs. The pool is solar heated using a black bottom -- I think its lava. The kitchen has excellent chicago cutlery knives. (many rentals have awful knives for some reason). The kitchen well appointed, well spaced for two people to move about. The extra units were perfect. Privacy for everyone. Its crazy! The service by Trinity was fantastic. We wanted for nothing. My days were spent like this: Every morning, I would meditate from 6:15 to 7 as the sun rose over the islands. Then I would snorkel for an hour at lanikai beach. And yes, it is so close its silly. then I would come back rinse off in the outdoor hot shower and going for a swim in the pool. Then around 8:30 or 9, I would do yoga on the lanai as the sun continued to rise. From then, it was bulletproof coffee and reading on the lanai, until it was time to go to Nalu for the Acai bowl and a second cup of local hawaiin coffee or fresh fruit with fresh barbecued fish and eggs for breakfast. I’ll admit to some mimosas in the morning as well. The day would then move along peacefully. Whether it be back to Lanikai for more swimming or to Kailua beach or to Royal Hawaiin (which was crazy interesting) for golf. the mid-day was usually a pretty relaxing activity. By the time the afternoon swim came around we were so relaxed that all we could do was lie around and read by the pool, on the lanai watching kayaks struggle to get to the islands or just nap. By late evening, we usually prepared fresh fish with mango salsa on grill. Or went out to Uahi, Cactus or some other local fare. The Whole Foods was a great resource and local Bikram Yoga studio was a nearby diversion. We never watched TV and were in bed by 9 or 10 every night Its expensive. but if you're in this price range then its worth it. what a wonderful time."

  • Amazing rental

"Amazing home! Thank you Peter and Sue for being such great hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kailua. This home was even more fantastic in person. My family and I rented this home for a small family reunion and found it to be very spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, plus the garage had lots of beach items (towels, pool toys, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, umbrella, etc...) We felt right at home! Peter and Sue were very accommodating and quick to respond and answer any questions we had. The location of this home is FANTASTIC. Every morning we enjoyed our walks on the beach (literally steps away) and hikes/runs on the Pill Box trail (10min walk). We also enjoyed our walks (only a block away) to Buzz's for an evening Mai Tai. In the mornings, we would stroll along the beach to the adorable Kalapwai Market for a Pitaya smoothie! The grocery stores, restaurants and shops are all close by. The beaches are great for families (snorkeling, paddle boarding and boogie boarding). The kids had a blast.... ages 3, 8,10 and 12. The pool was used for several hours a day as well. We cannot wait to come back again!"

  • Perfect Quiet Hideaway!

"This cottage is located around the end of the Lanikai Loop on the Makai (ocean) side of the street. It's a well appointed garage top apartment with granite counters and everything you'd need for a 'vacation' stay. There's no oven but they have a hot plate, toaster oven, and microwave. It's very private and the back has a small fenced in area with a table, umbrella, and a gas grill which we used quite a few times. There's a back closet with beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie board, cooler and everything for the beach. They provide towels, linens, paper products, etc. This place is immaculately kept both in and out and with its close proximity to the beach it's a perfect getaway! The walking beach is only 4 blocks and the swimming access is right next door to the house. Perfect for 2 people with a nice king size bed. The AC works great but if you don't like AC the cross tradewinds gives a pleasant breeze. You can't go wrong with this rental -- Lanikai is the best! Michelle is the Property Manager and has TRUE Aloha spirit; she was there for anything and everything we needed! We can't recommend this place enough, especially since we NEVER saw one bug and in Hawaii that's a true testament to maintaining a nice property!"

  • Great location and a beautiful beach

"My husband and I made a last minute trip to Oahu and got lucky that Lanikai Palms was available. We really enjoy being close to Lanikai and Kailua. The house is stocked with everything you need from the new BBQ grill to beach chairs. We hit some rainy weather but still had a great time exploring the area and coming back to a comfy place. Lori has lots of good information about Lanikai and the surrounding area."
