  • Lovely Compromise - Beauty and the Beach

"Lanikai is a lovely beach in general, but specifically for snorkeling. We were three 65 year old, quite active couples. The owners had this property for sale at the time, but held off any showings for the week we were there. Kim was very helpful with some of the problems we encountered such as needing lounge chairs and replacing cracked boogey boards. The property was clean and, as others have said, we found ourselves spending much of our time on the huge deck. If it were still on the market we would come back."

  • Amazing Location

"We spent a week here for a girls trip. There were 6 of us and we had plenty of room and privacy. There was everything that you needed right at the house. Beach within 300 feet of the beach. Tons of towels and linens and all the appliances and everything worked really well. The tennis court isn't as pristine as in the photos but great for a game, hitting balls and getting a good sweat up. The house itself also has a little wear and tear going on, but it actually allowed you to relax and not worry too much about being too fussy. There was plenty of hot water for 6 women. The beach was fabulous. We rented bikes and rode in to Kailua most days to browse around. Pillbox hike right up the street. Walk to golf course too. Very peaceful area so not for all night partyers. We all agreed that we would definitely rent here again and the owners were terrific to work with! Thanks so much for allowing us to appreciate your beautiful home and Lanikai."

  • Perfect Quiet Hideaway!

"This cottage is located around the end of the Lanikai Loop on the Makai (ocean) side of the street. It's a well appointed garage top apartment with granite counters and everything you'd need for a 'vacation' stay. There's no oven but they have a hot plate, toaster oven, and microwave. It's very private and the back has a small fenced in area with a table, umbrella, and a gas grill which we used quite a few times. There's a back closet with beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie board, cooler and everything for the beach. They provide towels, linens, paper products, etc. This place is immaculately kept both in and out and with its close proximity to the beach it's a perfect getaway! The walking beach is only 4 blocks and the swimming access is right next door to the house. Perfect for 2 people with a nice king size bed. The AC works great but if you don't like AC the cross tradewinds gives a pleasant breeze. You can't go wrong with this rental -- Lanikai is the best! Michelle is the Property Manager and has TRUE Aloha spirit; she was there for anything and everything we needed! We can't recommend this place enough, especially since we NEVER saw one bug and in Hawaii that's a true testament to maintaining a nice property!"

  • Great find for R&R....

"We fell upon this location when I was looking for a B&B in Hawaii on the internet. We prefer the individual service and the comfort of home feeling, and wanted a quiet place to enjoy our stay. We stayed in the front bottom unit and it was exactly as shown. It was clean and comfortable. Mary was very kind and helpful in providing us with information about the area and the endless possibilities during our stay. The unit was just steps away from the beach where we saw the sunrise at 6:59 am coming up between the Mokulua islands. Other places close by include; Kalapawai Market is a 10 min walk through Kailua park. Great place for the small essentials, alcohol, small bites, fresh brewed coffee and other. Kailua Beach Adventures - just another 2 min down the street in a small plaza. Great place for bicycle rental, kayak rental, snorkeling etc...You have got to check them out! Kailua "downtown" - 20-25 min walk (15 mins by bicycle). All the shops and food stores a small town could have. Should check out the farmers markets around town and Manoa Chocolates. Kailua Beach - 5 min walk Pill boxes were a total of approx. 40 min on a general hiking trail to the top to view 360° of the ocean and the mountains Good Eats: Buzz's Steakhouse (across from Kailua Beach Park) - I have got to say that I am not a big fish eater, but I was blown away on the "Opah" fish steak. I had it done 'teriyaki' style. Kona's Kailua - A small joint but big on the pulled pork! Roy's Wakiki - I had the Grilled C.A.B Asian Style Barbeque Burger and my husband had the “Frying Dragon” off the Pupu Menu. Highly recommended ! If I could, I would just fly there to have it again. Top of Wakiki - a revolving restaurant 18 floors up, again with a 360° view while dining. It also has a nightclub and bar if you are into that sort of thing. If you want actual relaxation and not be on a time crunch, do it the Hawaiian way, stay in Lanikai."
