  • Room for Everyone

"We had a diverse group of several families staying together for first time. It worked very well as Lanikai Palms has a lot of different places for groups and individuals to find their own space. The kitchen and outdoor BBQ got lots of use and worked perfectly for the group. Multiple microwaves and coffeemakers in different places helped too. Great chill location in Laniai, yet close to Kailua for everything you could need. We toured Oahu extensively and never hit traffic -- one hour to Waimea either way you go. A real treat to stay in such a traditional Hawaiian home with bamboo and breezes to keep us cool and beautiful plantings providing privacy from the road. Bob and Lori responded well whenever we needed anything."

  • Magical Hale

"This cottage is a rare treasure in Lanikai. Built in the 1930s, it captures the" Old Hawaii" in one of the most beautiful parts of the island. All the comforts of home, but in paradise. My family of 4 (2 kids under 10yrs) stayed here for a month and it still didn't seem like a long enough visit! All the previous reviews describe the hale perfectly; fully equipped kitchen, large yard for the children to run around, outdoor areas to relax. But, it is impossible to describe the overall feeling of tranquility this cottage exudes. Thank you Doug and Jean for sharing this special home with us! We hope to be back next year."

  • April Rememberence Dave and Monica M.

"This review is long over do. Long's at Lanakai is something very special. Our young family spent Easter of 2014 gathering as part of a remembrance for our parents. Lanakai beach was a favorite spot for them. So much so they had a painting of the Mokoluas which hung in our kitchen at home to greet them every morning for coffee. They made many friends up and down the beach. If you are in search a place to decompress, a great home base, access to the number one beach in the country, and a kid freindly environment this is the place. Breath taking views, early morning canoes ,a private seawall frequented by crabs, fish and turtles make Long's at Lanikai the perfect retreat. Rick was an excellent host and always available if you needed him; although you rarely want for anything in "paradise". We long for the Mokoluas and ocean breezes and hope to return someday soon. Mahalo, David and Monica M."

  • Stupendous, We found our Haven

"After a hectic journey with a few 'bumps in the road" we found Lori and Robert who took us under their wings ! We were greeted at their gate with a welcoming and comforting smile on Bob's face. We were escorted to our room , The Bamboo Unit. Bob described all of the amenities that they had to offer. We knew that we were at the right place. The bed and linens were lovely, the towels had a scent of sweet 'aloha, and our view was heavenly. I loved the lanai so much that I chose to sleep on the outdoor couch , to hear the ocean at night and hear the birds tweeting in the morning hours. This is a very quiet home in a pristine community. Lori and Bob went out of their way, daily, to assure that we were content.................I miss the two friendly well mannered dogs and we will return back....To the same room , where we felt at home..................."
