  • Amazing Beachfront Vacation

"The location couldn't have been better, situated beachfront on lanikai but set back just enough where the public can't see into the unit, which is also separate from the main house (couldn't hear a thing). We feel very lucky to have stayed here for an entire month. Kailua city center with restaurants and groceries is a short drive away and about a 30 minute walk. We had a newborn and the waves / wind acted as natural white noise. The unit had everything you'd need -- kitchen utensils, bbq, electric stove, microwave, rice cooker, beach mats + chairs, umbrella, pack n play, baby bath tub, nice linens, cable tv, fans in both rooms, A/C, etc. -- and the hosts are super helpful and accommodating. There is some noise from the street traffic, which is unavoidable due to the beachfront location and we probably only noticed because of a sensitive baby that would wake up. We would definitely come back if given the chance. A big thank you again to Margie and Leroy!"

  • Walker's Beach House

"Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Perfect location. During the lead up there was confusion over which agent I had to deal with, and confusion over my stated purpose in renting the house (to celebrate a birthday. The house definitely does not sleep 14."

  • Great find for R&R....

"We fell upon this location when I was looking for a B&B in Hawaii on the internet. We prefer the individual service and the comfort of home feeling, and wanted a quiet place to enjoy our stay. We stayed in the front bottom unit and it was exactly as shown. It was clean and comfortable. Mary was very kind and helpful in providing us with information about the area and the endless possibilities during our stay. The unit was just steps away from the beach where we saw the sunrise at 6:59 am coming up between the Mokulua islands. Other places close by include; Kalapawai Market is a 10 min walk through Kailua park. Great place for the small essentials, alcohol, small bites, fresh brewed coffee and other. Kailua Beach Adventures - just another 2 min down the street in a small plaza. Great place for bicycle rental, kayak rental, snorkeling etc...You have got to check them out! Kailua "downtown" - 20-25 min walk (15 mins by bicycle). All the shops and food stores a small town could have. Should check out the farmers markets around town and Manoa Chocolates. Kailua Beach - 5 min walk Pill boxes were a total of approx. 40 min on a general hiking trail to the top to view 360° of the ocean and the mountains Good Eats: Buzz's Steakhouse (across from Kailua Beach Park) - I have got to say that I am not a big fish eater, but I was blown away on the "Opah" fish steak. I had it done 'teriyaki' style. Kona's Kailua - A small joint but big on the pulled pork! Roy's Wakiki - I had the Grilled C.A.B Asian Style Barbeque Burger and my husband had the “Frying Dragon” off the Pupu Menu. Highly recommended ! If I could, I would just fly there to have it again. Top of Wakiki - a revolving restaurant 18 floors up, again with a 360° view while dining. It also has a nightclub and bar if you are into that sort of thing. If you want actual relaxation and not be on a time crunch, do it the Hawaiian way, stay in Lanikai."

  • Best vacation spot

"I cannot say enough how much we enjoyed our stay and vacation at the cottage. The owners love and maintain the home making it comfortable and clean. They have great advice overall about the island and make you feel like you are at home. The bedrooms are very comfortable with small air-conditioning units in each room. LOCATION, I cannot say it enough, location, location, location. The house has private parking and gates where you feel spoiled watching people try to park for the Pillbox hike or get to the beach. The beach is only steps away making it ideal to watch the sunrise over the Mokulua islands every morning. Our family felt spoiled staying at this charming house, loved cooking family meals and eating on the large back porch. By far one of the best vacations we have ever had."
