  • Thanksgiving in Paradise

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second visit to the Walker's Lanikai Beach House. The house has been partially renovated since our last visit. We honestly never expected that such a wonderful home and location could get better than our first visit, but it did!! The home itself is sitting on a relatively remote beach location that is not visited by that many tourists. Waking up to our own "private beach" to watch the sunrise between the two mini islands was one of my favorite parts of our trip. We also enjoyed a full Thanksgiving dinner. The only thing that was not included in the well stocked kitchen was a meat thermometer. That was pretty incredible. Overall if you have a large crowd/family this home provides several separate structures so that there is privacy along with the perfect home for everyone to gather. Looking forward to returning for another family getaway."

  • Hawaii's Fun in the Sun & Surf

"First of all the owners of this property are excellent host and lives on property. The home was well maintained, clean, and fully equipped to make you feel at home away from home. The three bedrooms were well appointed, clean, and comfortable with Hawaiian decor and memorabilia of Lanikai, The Home History/Family, and Hawaii. The covered deck was very roomy with tables, benches, chairs, and a gas barbecue and offered a spacious place to hold our luncheon for many family and friends. Our Children enjoyed the large yard surrounding the house and allowed them lots of space to run and play. The yard was large enough to support parking for our rental cars and visitors. The air condition units in all rooms offered a great relief from the Humidity and made the nights very comfortable. The pathway to the beach from the house was conveniently located and we spent everyday at the Lanika Beach which offered photo opts for spectacular sun rises . They also had a variety of water toys for adults and children alike (Surf Boards, Boogie Boards, snorkel and mask, sand toys. sand chairs, beach towels, and more) for more fun at the beach. The Kitchen was fully equipped to satisfy any Chef's requirements to eat in or enjoy the many restaurants in Kailua. We felt like Ohana (Family) because the owners interaction and attention to every need during our stay. I would highly recommend this property to families, friends, and anyone who wants to experience the lifestyle of Hawaii and all of its rich history."

  • Magical location!

"Cannot speak highly enough about this perfect studio apartment. The view is simply magical, even better than the pictures suggest. Noni is a wonderful host who makes you instantly feel welcome. The studio is private and spacious with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. The place is well stocked with everything you could possibly think of or need. Lanikai beach is less than 5 min walk away, which is sensational in its own right. Buzz's Restaurant is also less than 10 min walk and is a must! The trade winds lightly blowing through the window really accentuate the tropical experience and overall relaxing atmosphere of the studio. If you are looking for the perfect Hawaiian getaway, this it it."

  • Clean and close to the beach

"The home was very clean and had everything you would need for your stay. It was nice to have the washer and dryer there as well as all the kitchen applicances. There is a target within close driving distance that we used for groceries and several local restaurants in the closeby town of Kailua. There is no AC, which we knew based on the description, but that really is not an issue in hawaii as long as you have fans . The temperature at night is cool and breezy and the fans pull in the breeze. Box fans were provided and we slept very well. I would agree with the below review on some curtains perhaps. There are some iced out shades on the windows but we weren't sure how much it blocks out. There was some construction going on in the day on the roof next door so some curtains would have made it a bit more comfortable to change in the room. We visited both early beaches and they were beautiful and relaxing. We hiked the pillbox trail by the house which has amazing views of the area. Nalu health bar and cafe, Mahaloha burger, Cinnamon's for breakfast, all in Kailua were our favorite eats and reasonably priced. Calvin and Susie (if you have dogs), is a cute local store selling dog food, treats, and accessories including local stuff to take back home for your pets! We visited the DOle plantation and the Polynesian center which were both a great and fun experience. Must have pineapple ice cream at DOLE and eat at Pounders at the Polynesian center. Their fish was delish. There was a surfing competition on the north shore so we drove by and saw that for a bit. Incredible what these surfers can do! Our friend that came with us went to the north west coast to snorkel with the sharks with a conservation group and really enjoyed the educational experience. Pearl Harbor of course speaks for itself and is an important place to visit. Very historical and emotional, worth the early trip. We loved Oahu and enjoyed our stay. Would recommend and love to return someday!"
