  • Beautiful Location

"The location of this rental was perfect! We were close enough to Honolulu to visit when we wanted, but far enough away to have privacy and quiet. We woke up to the sound of the ocean and watched the sunrise when we woke up early enough. Plenty of water things are stocked to enable snorkeling right on the beach below the place - two steps away! Quiet/privacy does depend on the neighbors in the other rentals which are on either side of this one. The place itself is quaint and cozy. Enough room for two or maybe three, but you'll spend most of your time outside anyway! The kitchen is well-equipped - we used it to make all our meals during our stay. The place is a little older, but in pretty good shape overall and will be refreshed soon. Definitely worth the stay and the location! Great communication with Manager and attention to detail. We can't complain! Thanks for everything!"

  • Amazing Place...Amazing People!

"If you are planning to stay on this end of the island...THIS is where you want to spend your time! First off, the location is perfect. Situated directly across the road from beautiful Waimanalo Beach (I would just throw on my swim suit, walk to the beach barefoot, take a dip and come back and shower off in my own private outdoor shower), about a half mile from a great local co-op store that has fresh local, organic produce AND the most fabulous Ahi Poke on the island, only 10 minutes from both Kailua and Hawaii Kai - with all the shopping amenities you could ask for - yet you remain in a small local community that feels mellow, homey and friendly. Next, the cottage itself and the surrounding property are as described if not better. The cozy, bright and cheery cottage immediately felt like home when I walked in. It contains every imaginable amenity you need, plenty of closet and dresser space, fully equipped kitchen, loads of towels and blankets, etc. Then outside there is this wonderful gazebo, complete with comfy couches and lounging chairs. I had this all to myself and spent a LOT of time out there. From there I could see the towering cliffs during the day and the stars by night. Truly a little slice of paradise. Last, but surely not least, the hosts Rose and Koa are unbelievable gracious and sweet people. They not only responded to every little question I had immediately and completely, but went out of their way to make me feel at home and like one of the family. But...they didn't encroach on my space. Chatting with them is a pleasure, and being long time local residents they know everything there is to know about the island. Okay...enough said. Can you tell I loved it here? :-) If you choose to stay here you won't be disappointed."

  • VRBO - Brian Malanaphy Review

"My wife and I stayed 9 nights at the Malanaphy Vacation Rental. Both Bryan and Karen were great hosts and extremely helpful. The rental was comfortable, roomy, very clean, and affordable. They also included many items such as shaving cream, shampoo and conditioner, plenty of towels and washcloths, washer & dryer, and enough supplies for the kitchen. The beach was only a block away and not crowded, unlike many of the other beaches in Oahu. Our beach was at least 5 miles of pristine white sand and available for our use. Markets and eating places were close by for our convenience. We would recommend this property to friends and relatives and we would also gladly return again. The rental has no AC; however, it was well vented and comfortable. Carl & Nell Eby, Billings, MT"

  • Beautiful beachfront house

"Hawaiian Sunrise beach house is a lovely home along a beautiful white sandy Waimanalo Beach. The beach is truly as beautiful as it looks on the pictures and we hardly saw anyone else on it most days. It is just 35 mins from Honolulu international airport, and is not far from 7-11, Safeway, McDonald's and Costco. It’s only about 10 mins away from Kailua Beach, Lanikai Beach, Makapu Lighthouse and famous Hanauma Bay for snorkeling. Good location for day trips to Diamond Head Crater, Waikiki Beach, north shore, Koko Crater, Pearl Harbor, etc. This is a great place to stay and get away from tourist crowd. We very much enjoyed this quiet residential location and absolutely loved our stay. House has incredible view of beach and is just a few steps to water and fantastic beach-walking. The house was comfortable and very clean. Thank you Sherry, we truly enjoyed our stay in Hawaii!!"
