  • Fully stocked house just ready for your visit!

"First let me say - you DO NOT need to pack a fan, hair dryer, or spices if you are going to spend time in this house! Each bathroom has a hair dryer and fan and the kitchen in stocked with all the spices and most supplies you need to get started. Secondly - plan on spending at least some of your days just staying home. The beach is incredible and just steps outside the back door. Originally 4 of us women were going to share the house, but it turned into 3. I had the bedroom upstairs and I listened to the waves pounding the beach each day and each night. What a way to wake up! There is only a tub upstairs so I shared the shower downstairs with another friend. One of our group used the guest house and she did need to use the AC. The rest of the house did not have AC. Great kitchen and dining area as well as living room. Plenty of space. The yard is fabulous. There are beach towels available as well so don't bother packing them. Your little friends are these tiny sugar ants - so be sure to put your food away and clean up after yourself. I do have to warn you - this is a house on the beach, so salt water does corrode things. The house has many "parts" that look very worn, but it is clean, inviting, spacious, and this part of Oahu is the best. You are less than 40 minutes away from everything! But again - just sit and enjoy. There is an incredible guide book at the house - use it!"

  • Beautiful spot, lots of space, close to the beach!

"This home is beautiful, exceptionally clean, and well kept up. It is also very spacious! You are a very short walk to the beach-it is at the end of the short street. They provide everything you could want for your days at the beach-beautiful towels, boogie boards, snorkel gear, sand toys and more. Rachel (manager) was very responsive to our every need and eager to make sure we were comfortable. The house has a unique setup-basically two separate houses connected by laundry area and rec room. Renting the entire place would be absolutely perfect for two families vacationing together...that don't want to be TOO close... ;) Overall it is a great spot to try to blend into the local scene-not touristy, just relaxing! As an added bonus, Hawaii Five O was filming in the next block while we were there. I know that is just luck of the draw, but it was cool to see all the stuff set up. A neighbor even saw "Steve" walking down the street. Again, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!!!"

  • A Fantastic Place to Stay

"Rick and Tamy's lovely place far exceeded our expectations. The room we had was small but quite well appointed, very clean and very comfortable. There is a "common room" in which you can relax, read, play games, watch tv, have tea and coffee. Outside each suite is a lovely porch. We had our breakfast there each day. There is an outdoor shower (nice after the beach), beach chairs and umbrellas, boogie boards, surf boards, snorkels and flippers and just about any water "toy" you can think of. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and private...and the beach was one of the most beautiful and uncrowded beaches we saw on Oahu..and just across the street! Being in Waimanalo was convenient for touring by car all parts of the island and yet was away from the traffic and congestion (and the overinflated prices) of Honolulu and Waikiki. Our hostess, Carleen, a good friend of Rick and Tamy's (they were away at the time), was lovely and a most delightful and helpful guide to the area. Unbeknownst to us, there was a first class snorkeling area quite close to our Waimanalo "home" called Hamauna Bay and we took advantage of some really wonderful snorkeling without having to travel far. Our stay at Rick and Tamy's was the most relaxing part of our 17 day stay in the four islands we visited, and we most definitely would stay there again if the opportunity to return to Hawaii presents itself in the future."

  • Great place to get away from it all

"Clean, very well kept property both inside and out. It's basically one big house split into 6 units. Excellent stay with everything you need for a day/week at the beach provided. Pool was cold, a little warmer for being Jan/Feb would have been better but no biggie, with the beach so close, we barely spent any time at the pool. All in all, a great stay, we regretted spending our second week in Waikiki. We will defintlly be back here."
