"Overall, we really liked this property, with a few exceptions. Would likely stay again. Pros: This property has a lovely lagoon, in fact, we preferred this lagoon over the one at Aulani, where we stayed the latter part of our trip. The pools are awesome, and our kids played all day and stayed entertained. Quiet pool was indeed quiet. Liked that the pools were open until 10 pm, unlike Aulani, who's kids' area and lazy river closed at 5 and 6pm-unheard of! :( , fish tacos poolside are tasty, as are the drinks. Half Price cabana was a steal, and a great start to our vacation, great little market if you forget something.
Cons: Resturaunt on site is really pricey and food isn't that great. We went twice for breakfast and nothing special on Mother's Day, maybe complimentary leis or flowers for moms? Food was very basic, and even limited on tropical fruits. Poolside food service took forever. Last day there, we ordered lunch for our four kids, took over an hour to bring the chicken nuggets, and then the server cancelled two of our orders, and the food never came, and he forgot our "drinks" twice, then it was time to leave, so that was time and money lost. We left our flip flops to go to the hot tub and since it was after 7, anything unattended gets put in lost and found. We lost sunglasses, and two pairs of flip flops and went to lost and found within an hour and nothing was there. That was frustrating, where could the stuff have gone if their staff collects and puts it in the correct spot, we even check with the main lobby at check out and nothing there. Some form of cleaning the room would have been nice since everyone was so sandy, but apparently they don't clean your room. For the money charge that should be included! Lastly, for our Sat. and Sunday time at the Marriott, it was very over-run with locals everywhere around the pool area. Huge groups coming out of the bottom level rooms at the hotel/villas, hot tubs completely full of "locals", no space to be with your families. Clearly someone is just letting strangers and people who aren't guests of the hotel onto the property. It didn't feel safe nor relaxing when the pools and hot tubes were overtaken. For the money we paid, someone needs to deal with whichever employees are allowing this to happen. I talked to friends who stayed there a few weeks ago, and they said they had the SAME problem while they were there. During the non-weekend days, it's a very relaxed vibe which we enjoyed."
