  • An outstanding beachfront property!

"Our party of 7 was very comfortable in this house. The house was fresh and clean with all the amenities we needed; both the house and the property were well-maintained. Laycie and Mike were delightful hosts and made our stay that much more pleasant. Our children and grandchildren enjoyed sailing with Mike, who magically produced a whale sighting for them. They were in the water in front of the house every day - snorkeling, exploring the reef, sighting sea turtles, etc. Lots of snorkeling gear and boogie boards provided. The tree house and hot tub were also popular. The location is close enough to Honolulu and Kailua for convenient access but far enough away to feel almost rural. Very peaceful at night. Only a few minutes to the outstanding nature preserve at Hanauma Bay, a short drive to the great beach at Kailua Bay, or 30 minutes to Waikiki. A lovely place, in every sense. We would certainly recommend this property to family and friends."

  • Fantastic Kailua Vacation Home

"I spent a week at the Ginger Hale Retreat. The house was fantastic and the beach - which is a few steps past the private, wonderful backyard - was fantastic. The house maximizes the beauty as the views are fantastic the entire length of the house with floor to ceiling windows. Everything is on one level - which was just fine for my wife and I in the master suite, and my two children and their significant others in the other two, large bedrooms. This house is absolutely perfect - fantastic kitchen with top end everything, a full open dining room, a "family room", really a great room, with ocean views. You can always hear the ocean. Steve met us and showed us everything we neded to know. He is a gentleman and reached out several times via email to make sure we were enjoying. The location is spectacular in that Kailua town is filled with great restaurants and if you desire Honalulu, it is literally less than 30 minutes away through gorgeous mountain roads."

  • Great Visit!

"We loved our stay at this beautiful home in lush and quiet Lanikai. The house was immaculate, just as pictured here, and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful. This was a great place for our toddler, who loved the bathtub and rubber duckies and the delightful picture books at the house. The owner even had a souvenir gift for him on parting. Dreamy (and toddler-friendly) Lanikai beach is only a half a mile walk down the hill, and the pillboxes of the Ka'iwa Ridge hiking trail are visible from the driveway (a great place to watch the sunrise). Kailua beach and town are a quick drive away (or bicycle). We appreciated the beach chairs, mats, toys, and towels provided at the house, and we did lots of cooking in the well-equipped kitchen. Unfortunately, we were there during some record-breaking heat and humidity and the house has no air conditioning (which is common for the area). We adjusted fine, but just a heads-up to anyone sensitive to such things who might be traveling during the very hot season."

  • Great stay

"We are former residents of Kailua and visit multiple times a year to see family. We always stay in Kailua/Lanikai area. This is one of the best places we have stayed at. It is nice to be away from the crowds at Kailua beach park and Lanikai. The place is quiet and very comfortable. The AC is a big bonus for those not used to the tropical heat. Judy is very welcoming and the house is extremely clean."
