  • good for our needs this trip

"The house was close to where we wanted to be and big enough the entire family could be together, especially for meals. Quite neighborhood, met our expectations. Thanks"

  • Ideal for Families with Young Kids

"Our family of three (mom, dad, 2-year old toddler) stayed for a week in June 2016. We had a few days of obligations near Honolulu and the rest of the time did not need to be anywhere in particular. Several days we barely left the house - at morning low tide the lagoon is almost dry. Our daughter used it as a giant sandbox (toys provided by the landlord) and tried and tried again to catch the fish and crabs that congregated in the small pool at the foot of the breakwater. At hightide the waves would crash over the breakwater and make the lagoon into a safe and enjoyable wave pool that is safe for even very young kids. We never used the kayaks or snorkeling gear but the reef beyond the breakwater looked beautiful and we saw many neighbors fishing and paddleboarding out there. Being able to watch the moods of the ocean throughout the day was mesmerizing. Being able to go straight down to the beach without having to load a car or pack a bag, and being able to clean off in the outdoor shower before coming back in, took away so much stress and unpleasantness. While the location may seem a bit remote by Oahu standards, nothing is more than an hour away, and we found the quiet isolation a welcome respite from the busier side of the island. As some of the other reviews suggest, the house itself is not in pristine shape, but the location and value proposition cannot be beat. Would you rather be in a beautiful Waikiki hotel room several blocks from the beach or in a perfectly nice house that is literally on top of the beach? Easy answer for our family. We hope to come back someday and enjoy more of the water activities with older kids."

  • Wonderful family fun!

"We absolutely loved our stay here! Our family group of 15- newborn to great-grandparents- was comfortably accommodated in the 4-bedroom and 1 studio. Geri and Ke'Alii were so friendly and helpful! They were available when we needed them (right next door), and went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The beach was a short walk away and it was amazing! There was a protected area perfect for the little ones, and farther down the bigger kids (and adults) loved boogie boarding and snorkeling. The beach was never crowded, and some of the days we practically had it to ourselves. We really appreciated being away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Even though we were in the"country", we were very close to groceries and supplies- very convenient. The on-site laundry facility was a lifesaver for our large group. The outdoor shower was great when returning from the beach. We loved the front porch! We frequently ate our evening meal out there and played card games. There was also a clothes line which was so handy for hanging wet swim suits and beach towels. I could go on and on! We really had a wonderful time! Mahalo, Geri and Ke'Alii!"

  • Perfect Getaway

"My husband and I stayed in this cute little bungalow for just over a week in February and it was perfect for the two of us! We loved every minute of our stay. Judy and Mark were very pleasant and kept us updated with the events going on and popular places around town. We happened to be there for the Eddie, which was incredible! We had access to bikes, laundry, a cooler and ice packs, snorkel gear, towels, and several other things which made our trip more affordable. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for a wonderful experience!"
