  • Wonderful place to stay in a beautiful location! Ocean on one side an mountains on other.

"We had a wonderful visit to Punalu'u and hope one day to return. The ocean view and the mountains took our breath away. Exploring the windward side of the island an the North Shore held wonders around every turn. We are from NC. Those who are familiar with the Blue Ridge Parkway will find the drive along these beaches similar with many spectacular photo ops and roadside attractions to explore. In addition to the mountains this area has the ocean and its offerings seafood and lounging on the beach. We particularly recommend the many roadside food trucks and restaurants. Visiting Waimea Valley and its beautiful falls and exploring the village of Haleiwa, a surfer town with restaurants and shops. Take the road down the center of the island to the Dole Plantation. There is much to do you will want to go back. Only 2 suggestions: The bedroom needs better ventilation and renters need to know that though there's a good coffee maker there may be no coffee. There was none when we arrived, but we were able to buy some with little effort."

  • Brings Back Memories

"Years ago Jerry & I owned a unit in this building, sold it (silly us), then purchased a condo out towards Makaha. Recently sold that unit and found this condo in Waikiki. Needless to say it holds many fond memories for us and now we wouldn't stay anywhere else. The owner is so easy to work with and his assistant is so much fun to talk to. We are working on our third trip in this past year and a half. Location is ideal, view is spectacular, restaurants close by, transportation is so easy. Can't say enough good things about it."

  • Not the Ritz but who needs that when your in Hawaii

"Cute and comfortable but what makes it OH SO SPECIAL is the view. If you are torn between a fancier place that's not directly on the water and this one, choose this. It makes all the difference in the world. We sat on the deck every morning and watched the sunrise and fed the silly Myna birds and wood peckers (they like danish best). Very quiet, really cant hear the traffic from the road from the deck or inside just the waves. Could use a little sprucing up, the reason I gave it a four instead of a five, but that certainly won't affect the quality of your stay. Bed was decent. Great for the price. Arish, the manager, is very sweet and accommodating. Arish left ya a bottle of wine, an old lady can only drink so much even on vaca, hope ya didn't give that away."

  • Was thankful for Every Day at this house

"My wife and I were at this house for a week in Sept. I had 3 days of conferences in Honolulu. It Was 45 min of driving to get to conv center. Because we had this house I was thankful for each drive to the city. The time there was beautiful and sunrises amazing. This house made Oahu feel like 'our' island. Sure city hotels can be beautiful but every time I was in Honolulu around thousands of people I did not feel like I was in Hawaii and so glad I could enjoy the mountain view drive from my home in Kaaawa. We said we were so glad we were there EVERY DAY. Road noise was no issue. House was clean with above average linens / towels. The lagoon was great. A couple schools of fish to chase and crabs to watch. The open water did not have the most fish for snorkeling with but still fun and comfortable as could be 100 feet from lagoon and still in 4 ft depth of water. The early morning high tide was loud but can adapt and learn how to adjust with windows when sleeping. It was an experience and something we laughed about. The house is not resort hotel pristine, it is lived in and can understand any wear as you are ON THE OCEAN. That environment can take a toll on any home (only reason a 4 and not 5) regardless the home was nice, clean, comfortable and furniture good and just like the pictures. First night we missed having AC but we adjusted and managed just fine. The surf, view, and water made up for it. Home exceeded our expectations and was fun sharing with others at the conference that we were at this amazing house and location. We had a coconut wash in to lagoon, had fun opening it and enjoying the milk and meat within. If we go to Oahu again I know where I am staying."
