  • The absolute most perfect beach home

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Malaekahana Beach House was perfect for our large extended family of 11.The excitement on the kids' faces was priceless when they saw the house. The house was very clean and had everything we needed (games, beach toys, cookware, 2 washers & dryers, comfortable beds and couches). The smaller cottage was a bonus for the elders.I loved how the door panels fully retracted to bring the outdoors in.Waking up to the ocean view from the master bedroom was the perfect way to start the day.The path to the private beach were steps from the beautiful garden. The food trucks and grocery stores were conveniently close.I am so happy we decided to rent a beach house in North Shore instead of staying at a busy over-crowded resort in Waikiki or Honolulu. We visited many tourist sites, but we always couldn't wait to go back to the beach house. The Hawaii Beach Homes team was very attentive and always made sure that our needs were met.We are already planning our next trip to Hawaii and we will definitely stay at the Malaekahana Beach House."

  • All we expected and hoped for, and more

"We picked this property in July 2016 for a 3 generation family Christmas vacation, the first 6 days being on the Oahu north shore and the second 4 days on Kauai. We were sure that my wife, my 20 year-old daughter, my married 29-year old son, his wife, and their 16 month old would make it. We were unsure if my 23-year son would be able to join us; he was. We could see the condo was just remodeled and done very nicely when we picked it in July. We felt it would be perfect if my 23-year couldn't make it and I was willing to sleep on the cot if he did. Turned out that though my wife and I normally sleep in a king-size bed, the full size bed was very comfortable for us both in size and with only the windows open, fans on. My son and daughter were more than fine in the other full-size beds in the loft. Plenty of room. Married son, daughter, and their son found the downstairs bedroom perfect. Alexis was very responsive to our questions before we booked, after we booked, as we arrived, and while we were there; provided a pack-and-play for our grandson; had a suggestion on how to keep him from climbing the steps; etc. The appliances and bathrooms were super clean. We used the washer and dryer often. The TV was fantastic (big and lots of channels). The dishwasher worked fine every day. With the hardwood floors, no mold or smells. The proximity to the Turtle Bay Resort offerings (kayak trip, horseback riding, Starbucks coffee, spa, Roy's, walk around hotel on beach, etc.) were very nice. The whole general location was great, as my 23-year son said. The Foodland near Banzai Pipeline had everything we needed. The food trucks just north of the Foodland served everything from waffles to fresh fish: great food, reasonable price. The burger place behind the "general store" going east about 7 miles had very tasty $7 hamburgers. A few things to be aware of. The hot water may only last one shower, but the next shower was always hot. My wife and daughter-in-law said the dryer seemed to take 1 cycle cycle sometimes and 3 cycles other times. (It only took 1 cycle for me the time I used it and used the hottest setting.) Oh, we unanimously agreed we liked this place better than the 3 bedroom, 3 bath facility we got for twice the price on Kauai."

  • Neat and tidy

"About a 45 minute drive from Honolulu, this property is cozy retreat from the big city. Be aware that anyplace outside of the city area in Hawaii will have roosters, which will crow at all hours of the morning. Bring earplugs. This home was large enough for 5 adults: 1 queen, 2 full beds and a futon in the living room, although a kitchen table that sits more than 4 would be nice. Neatly kept and organized. Washer dryer was great to have. Spectacular mountain views from the front porch and just a short walk to the 7-11 and a shoreline park with a playground. The owner has a great binder with lots of information in it so we never needed to call them with questions. The beach is about a mile down the road but I would not suggest walking it - a bit of a hike on a very busy road with no sidewalks. Perfect for our needs."

  • Fabulous house on the Northeast shore of Oahu

"My family and I just returned from a lovely stay at Estella and Troy's house in Oahu. We were looking for something away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu/Waikiki and decided to look on the more low key part of the island for this stay. This was a terrific find to fit those needs. For our party of five, two couples and a single adult, these three rooms were perfect. The house was updated, comfortable, stylish, and clean. Estella and Troy were very warm and welcoming when we arrived; Estella was easy to talk to and readily available during booking questions as well as throughout the trip if we had any questions. The kitchen was stocked well and the outdoor deck was lovely. The views from the deck and dining room were superb. It was terrific waking up and having breakfast with a great view of the Pacific. The rest of the house was also stocked well, with plenty of towels and beach fun goodies. The only thing we all felt was a slight detractor, and we realize this is solely based on personal preference, was that the beds were incredibly soft. If you are used to firm beds, these beds will be on the softer side."
