  • Beachside Paradise!

"My family of six enjoyed this beautiful beachside rental this past July. To start off, this property is very clean and well maintained. The pictures don't do it justice. The house has everything you need, from cleaning supplies to having a washer and dryer, everything to make you feel at home. It's located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and the beach is literally steps away from the property. We met Rebecca, the property caretaker, and she was very friendly and sweet. My four kids enjoyed waking in the morning and walking to the beach to find tiny crabs on the shore and staying up late at night stargazing at an endless sky of tiny bright dots. Staying here definitely made it hard to leave our vacation. I highly recommend this place and look forward to returning in the future."

  • Second time and just as amazing

"My husband and I stayed here first in Sept 2014 and just returned for a shorter getaway Jan 2016. This house has such a perfect location. The sound of the waves would lull us to sleep at night and the views are spectacular. The outdoor shower, running trail, close proximity to so many beautiful beaches, and gorgeous sunsets make this the best house we have stayed at on the north shore! Plus the owners are easy to contact and great hosts! We can't wait to return for a third time!"

  • Perfect Hawaiian Family Vacation Home

"This was our second family vacation to the Pa Hauoli House. We took our children and our eleven grand-kids to Hawaii for a family vacation celebrating our retirement. Just driving up the country road to the house is such a relaxing experience and it always feels like I have arrived in a tropical paradise. A common reaction of our children upon first seeing the house is, "Is this it? Are we really going to get to stay here?" From the huge yard and large patio (where we barbecued and I think ate every meal) to the stunning ocean view from the ocean side of the house, it doesn't get any better than this. We had an adult versus kids game of capture the flag on the football field size lawn. The house is well furnished with kitchen appliances and cookware, stocked with games, towels, surf boards and much more. A favorite spot to relax was sitting beneath the shade trees at beach edge and reading or watching the grand-kids playing in the surf and watching turtles coming up for air. The only problem was it was so relaxing I would drop my book as I nodded off and lose my place. The grand-kids were occupied for hours building a "survivor" shelter on the beach from palm fronds and drift wood. Even in what is considered a busy tourist month, we had miles of beach to ourselves. The house is close to Turtle Bay Resort so my sons and I were able to play golf at the Fazio and Palmer Courses, the kids played in the tide pools at "Shark's Cove" and the older ones had a thrill jumping off the rock at Waimea Beach. A real treat for us has been getting to know Bill and Nancy and their Ohana, the caretakers of the property. They are so helpful and attentive to ensure that everything was set for our large family. The quality of their service and friendly help for anything we needed makes this place even more of a treasure."

  • Wonderful, authentic Hawaiian vacation

"We spent a glorious week at Moani Kai which was one of the most beautiful and well maintained vacation rentals I have ever experienced. First, the beach at Malaekahana Bay is three miles of beautiful desolate sandy beach with small waves and completely protected from the fierce breaks of the north shore. The house has recently been completely remodeled with resort quality linens and very comfortable 6 bedrooms. It is located on lush 1 acre lawn with paddle tennis court, hot tub overlooking the ocean and two kitchens so the parents stayed upstairs and the kids and grandkids stayed downstairs. There is a beautiful dining pavilion reminiscent of a Tuscany outdoor dining area with string lights all over looking the ocean. There is a hidden sun tan/massage deck that is next to the ocean but allows privacy to sunbathe in complete privacy. And there is a colorful hammock that we spent hours in enjoying the sound of the breaking surf. The house is well equipped with beach equipment, lounge chairs, boogie boards, children toys who used them in the massive yard next to the ocean. There are two master bedrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs and both have sliding floor to ceiling glass doors overlooking the ocean. We loved the charming caretaker who arranged for private chefs and massages at no extra charge (except a generous tip which she deserved). We loved our nightly bonfires under the moonlit skies. It was a wonderful and authentic Hawaiian vacation. It is the country and not the four seasons. But Malaekahana Bay is Hawaii's best kept secret where most of the houses are owned by the old families of Honolulu for their beach homes. Can't wait to return. I can't think of a better way to experience old Hawaii away from the glitz of Waikiki and a place to enjoy the very special Hawaii we all dream about."
