  • A Real Gem!

"The ideal place to "get away from it all!" The Bell family has a special property that is located on the scenic north shore of Oahu. Beautiful, uncrowded beaches, some of the world's greatest surfing spots, championship golf, "local" dining, and supermarket are just minutes away in and from Pupukea and the Bell's property. Tranquility and quiet are the norm as the property is located near the end of a dead end road = no traffic and accompanying noise! The facilities are first rate! The two bedroom unit we stayed in is immaculate! Full kitchen with everything you need, large living/dining room, two full bathrooms, two spacious bedrooms, covered lanai (deck/porch), washer & dryer, and lots of off street parking make this a special place in paradise. Alan, Anne, and their two sons genuinely make you feel like family. They are warm, friendly, gracious, and caring hosts. They are absolutely delightful folks who go "above and beyond" to make you feel welcome! This is a can't miss choice, one that more than warrants a return stay. I highly recommend this property."

  • Wonderful location and gorgeous condo, a bit noisy

"LOCATION: perfect. Right on a beach great for snorkeling/swimming and turtle watching, with easy access to surfing spots throughout Haleiwa. Far enough from town to feel remote, not touristy, with beautiful surrounding parks and adjacent beaches. Didn't perceive any safety issues. CONDO: gorgeous. Impeccably clean (and I'm fussy!) with high end decor and great kitchen stuff. We cooked every meal in the condo. Soft sheets and plenty of fluffy towels. They were so kind to leave snorkel masks (clean!), beach chairs and dedicated beach towels. SMALL CRITICISMS: the bedroom adjoins the parking lot and has no ocean view, so we made up the comfortable futon in the living room. It was great for the two of us, but might be a bit uncomfortable for larger groups. The bathroom in the bedroom was small but lovely. The 2nd bath was somewhat small but easily usable and, again, beautifully remodeled. NOT A PROBLEM: no air conditioning. We loved the breezy December temperature and used fans for total comfort. The screen door onto the patio doesn't lock (neither does the back bedroom door), but we didn't tell the owners while we were there, so not a legit complaint. We felt safe, though it was a bit disconcerting to have a couple of residents walk by right outside the unit, which is ground floor. Not a big deal. MAJOR ISSUE: the parking lot noise made it impossible to sleep in the adjacent bedroom. People weren't loud partiers, but with windows open, every footstep and car could be heard. We slept in the living room facing the ocean, and were "serenaded" by a crowing rooster every morning from 4:30 - 5:30 am and occasionally at other times. We're early risers, so not a huge deal, but expect to be awakened by the pretty rooster immediately outside the ground floor unit behind a chain link fence. The chickens weren't a problem, nor were the many beautiful wild birds. We could, however, hear every neighbor as they moved furniture (probably futons converted to beds at night). OWNERS: lovely. Never intrusive, always immediately responsive. They seem to take real pride in maintaining this unit and accommodating guest needs. This is worth an extra star! Overall, for our needs, we may try to find a quieter spot, maybe a house. But this condo is a great value for the location and how beautiful and well maintained it is."

  • great condo

"We really enjoyed staying in this condo. We were here for two weeks and really had a wonderful time! I was a little nervous because there weren't a lot of reviews but it is just as pictured. It is simple but nice, comfortable and great location. We took advantage of some of the turtle bay offerings (spa, yoga, restaurants) and it was a great spot on the north shore. The beach at turtle bay was a good option to walk to (good snorkeling) and other great beaches are just less than 15 minutes away. Only two items that were less than awesome... 1- the bed... frame and mattress. I am picky and it wasn't horrible but just could have been better. 2- food options nearby. obviously this is out of the control of the owner, but I did wish we had some of the wonderful food choices that town has to offer. turtle bay restaurants really leave something to be desired, however the newish food trucks and sharks cove area and restaurants in haleiwa are good. I give five stars because we had a great stay... and I also feel like this is amazing value!!"
