  • Perfect Family reuinion location

"Hard to put into words how beautiful this home and grounds are! Having never been to Hawaii we left the location to our Daughter-in-laws & they without a doubt found the perfect spot for our family & my wife & me to celebrate our 50th Wedding anniversary with our 2 sons & their children - one grandson also celebrated his birthday. As we opened the redwood gate we say the beautiful curving driveway with flowers & fruit trees along with a beautifully landscaped yard for family activities! Then we saw the Home - as beautiful as in the pictures - we were stopped in our tracks as we saw each of the 3 sleeping areas, each perfect to be together yet to have privacy as needed. The deck gave glorious views of the ocean, tennis courts, fountains/gazebo, rainbows (at least 2 times a day) & the mountains. The kitchen was furnished with everything we could need + some staples that every cook needs but typically doesn't have or purchases for a week long stay! The owner, Gregory, gave wonderful directions to Costco & to 'our home', met us & graciously showed us around & met every need we had, plus gave us wonderful advice & guidance. The walk to the almost private beach was easy, the waves were great, the late November water was warm & the hot tub on the upper deck was so refreshing after a swim (great shower to wash off the sand before getting in the hot tub) or just to relax. The eating area was perfect for our 11 members as there are 2 long tables with stools to eat on the deck or a large table inside - but who wants to eat inside when you can eat outside on a covered deck. Speaking about eating there are plenty of coconuts and passion fruit to allow everyone to have their fill! There are enough games to play outdoors, puzzles/games to play indoors, plus enough snorkeling equipment, fins, boogie boards to keep everyone happy + enough towels to dry off! If you run out of clothes, the washer and dryer are big and easy to use. The bbq grill is large enough for the family to eat from at one time & is always filled with gas! I can only say if we ever get to Hawaii again or if we have any friends going, I would stay here again & highly recommend it - as it is close to the water & Haleiwa yet private, luxurious yet comfortable, spacious yet cozy, all anyone could ask for, including an outside bar/refrigerator so you can keep cool even in the hot tub. Thanks Greg for letting us stay with you! We look forward to visiting again. No one in our group could ask for more."

  • quiet, peaceful far away from the hustle if the city

"My wife Kathleen and I stayed in Sept. The place is as advertised. It is clean and neat with a large lawn leading to a beach( basically your own--you do share it with turtles,a seal and the occasional neighbor) The home is a long time family place that is just that. Do not expect "modern" but rather comfy and clean. It has a gated and fenced front with private car port. It is close to the kitchen entrance which really has everything you need--if you like to cook. We cooked in ( actually B_B_Q,charcoal)every evening to enjoy the sunsets from the beach. We went to town for a trip or two to Foodland and restaurants for 3 lunches. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs ( one in the living area) and two smaller ones upstairs which we did not need. The living area is comfortable. Outdoors there is a covered dining area that can seat maybe 10 or so. The property is well maintained One of the best things is that the showers(both) have a door to the outside side you can enter from the beach or shower with a view of the ocean.( it is private and comfortable on a hot afternoon. There is no air conditioner but fans that do an OK job. The beach is beautiful but I must mention it is very, very soft so it hard to walk on for any distance. The waves are manageable small due to a reef out about 300 ft. We swam with turtles daily and had a visit one day of a large seal resting . The waters out front are pretty calm and the rocks and some fish make a snorkel good but do not expect the clear colorful reef of the c The neighborhood is only private residences. The front road is a 2 lane road and usually quiet and good for a morning walk. We met friendly people. It is about 15 min from town. Close but far enough away from the tourist crowd Stephanie who owns the place is thorough and rightly involved in her "guest" maintaining the property. She gives a thorough presentation on arrival and will want to check you out. Not a problem except on arrival you are tired from travel so your attention may waiver. Do not listen! She gives good advice. One example is that she told us where the flashlights were located. Boy that info came into importance when the lights went out in the entire neighborhood on our first night as we sat down to dinner. We ate by flashlight and went to bed some thereafter. With no fans it was hot and we were awoke at 2 AM when the lights came on . All in all the place, location and things we wanted met our expectations. Explore the road. to the West up to the port."

"What a wonderful place! Literally steps from the ocean with large picture windows to enjoy the magnificent views - what could be better! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to cook at home and dine overlooking the ocean. The beaches nearby are beautiful and never too busy. The grounds are immaculate. The owners were a pleasure to deal with............we can't wait to return!"

  • Nice quiet place

"I totally enjoyed staying here. It is a smaller place but plenty of room for myself and my friend. Of course with the beach only about a block away we didnt stay indoors too much. The building is pretty quiet and the neighbors were pretty friendly. Its right next to a bus stop so that helps and its only a short trip to the food trucks in haleiwa, Overall I would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Hawaii away from the noise and expense of the touristy areas but still close enough to enjoy the touristy stuff if you want."
