  • Amazing Sunset !

"Amazing view on the sea and the sunset......from the house ! Very clean and beautiful. It''s same of the photos. We apreciated the fridge with the ice maker and it was very cold. The furnitures in the kitchen are very good. We apreciated the glasses of champagn. The outside shower (with hot water) was nice and good with 4 peoples. The sencond room is a little bit small and without windows. The place is very quiet, it's a little community far away of the noise of the town. The place is very clean and the pool is good. No AC in the house. It's not a real problem with the wind of the sea and the fans in the house. The problem is when it rain (I haved 2 fulls days of rain during the week), you cannot open the windows and the house have more humidity. The others condos are close then the house and when the windows are open you can listen the neightbors. We make a lot of activities at North Shore. Nice week !"

  • Great property, great location, "real Oahu"

"We had a lovely time near the northwestern tip of Oahu. The area is convenient to everywhere on the island by vehicle (45 mins to 1 hr), with a relaxing drive through the agricultural part of the island, hitting only a little traffic on the way to Honolulu or elsewhere SW/SE. The ocean out the back door, beaches just down the road, mountains on the other side of the street, seeing sunrise/sunsets both from your backyard --it all made for an amazing stay. The property was in great shape, clean, as listed, and was plenty of room for our party of six. It was warm inside after coming back in the afternoons, but as soon as the oceanside doors were open, the house was instantly cool again. The kids even got a little cold at night, so heat isn't a problem, although the humidity takes a few days to get used to. Plenty of extra amenities made the trip easier: beach towels, boogie boards, cooler--these definitely came in handy. Kitchen was well-stocked (even a blender for smoothies/milkshakes when we weren't eating shave ice). Large DVD selection if you want to spend time indoors (this is Hawaii). The kids would have liked a backyard beach, but still amazing views. Front fence helped with privacy and car noise from semi-busy road. Area felt safe with two kids camps nearby. Great hikes 2 & 3 miles away, quickly rising to amazing ocean views in the mountainous state park across the road and a 2.5 mi hike that gives amazing sunrise views from the absolute northwest tip of the island. Each of these trailheads is accessible by car in 5 mins--some of the premier hikes on the island. For hang-gliding or sky-diving, the airfield across the street is where many go on the island for this--staying here avoids the hour drive from Waikiki. The North Shore was 30 minutes away, Waikiki 50 mins with traffic, Turtle Bay (snorkeling), Turtle Beach (sea turtles) 25-30 mins away on the north shore. Oceanfront horseback riding & polo 1/2 mile south. Beautiful ocean sunsets anywhere along the road 1-3 miles north to the tip if you aren't satisfied with the one out your back door. Plan ahead for groceries: 22 mins to Foodland, but Costco right off H2N is 30 mins away (cheapest gas in Oahu). For those seeking the "real local" experience, with activities that won't be packed with busloads of tourists getting dumped off with you, this is the place to stay to hit those remote stops. We'd stay here again when we're in Oahu, and recommend others stay here."

  • Incredible estate and a perfect beach!

"We decided to visit Hawaii for our family reunion this summer and staying at Hale Aloha was the highlight of our trip. We were deciding between a couple different places, but we had to choose this listing after we were blown away by all of the glowing reviews. Now, I wanted to add my name to the list of ecstatic guests! After we landed, we rented cars and took the scenic drive through the cute surf town of Haleiwa. The property is super close to the town, which was really helpful when we wanted to grab supplies for our BBQs (more on that later). Then, we arrived at Hale Aloha and immediately admired the beautiful flowers all throughout the grounds. We parked our cars and walked up to the wrap-around deck to see an incredible view of the beach and tons perfect spots to relax. We each picked our rooms (which was easy because they were ALL so comfortable) and decided to get active. The adults started a tennis tournament, the kids threw around the football, and everyone else took the boogie boards to the beach. When I arrived at the beach, it was like walking into a postcard. Perfect sand and the clearest water you're ever going to see. What's more, the only people that we could see were the small dots of skydivers who we could barely see floating way above us. It was paradise. In the afternoon, we went back to the house to get a BBQ going. As I mentioned above, we popped over to the nearby grocery store and picked up everything that we needed. While we grilled, my sister started a dance party using the in-house sound system and another group decided to take a nap (yes, this place is so big that they couldn't hear a thing). In the evening, we used the dining table to have a full family dinner. One night, we had everyone pile onto the couches for a movie night on the big screen TV. Another day, we did our laundry and played games in the gazebo. Finally, my favorite part (besides the beach) was seeing thousands of stars at night. I recommend sitting outside and staring upwards on a clear night - it's truly magical. Other important details: the booking process with Greg (the owner) was really easy. He was incredibly kind and helpful when we were planning other things to do in the area (we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center one day and Kalua Ranch another day - both awesome). Fritz (the groundskeeper) answered all of our questions immediately. Hale Aloha was awesome and we're definitely booking it again next year!"
