  • Great location for a quite retreat to the North Shore.

"We truly enjoyed our time at the Waialua Cottage. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable location. Excellent protected beach access and swimming made it very easy for our 5 year old to enjoy himself without the fear of large waves. Our hostess was very friendly and made sure we had what we needed in the cottage. We enjoyed spending time with her while lazing around the property. We will definitely plan on staying at the cottage again on our next North Shore visit."

  • Beautiful beach with killer view!

"We enjoyed a full week at this beautiful apartment/home, and highly recommend for a family or two couples. The apartment is easy to drive to (rental car is required), on a good street with nice neighbors (and lots of friendly dogs and cats), and its location in the building is excellent. As you can see from their pictures, your view is incredible, and it's even better in person. The apartment is small, but well laid out and very comfortable for 4 adults (which was our group). Having a fully-functioning kitchen is always nice, and we cooked more than half our meals at "home." Beds were comfortable, as were common seating areas, and many convenient amenities (like soap and paper towels in kitchen, shampoo and towels in bathroom, etc.) were already laid out and provided. Beach access is right through the parking area of the building, and you'll have pool and spa access as well. Two nicely-maintained BBQ grills are located on the beach patio area, along with multiple tables for seating. We loved grilling just 20 feet away from the ocean! The beach right next to the building is beautiful, but predominantly coral reef in the water. Fortunately, there are areas within ~200 feet that have had all the coral and rocks removed for safe access into the ocean (if you look at this location on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps, you can clearly see where the water changes color and is just sand). The beaches here were never crowded, but also never desolate, frequented more by local families than tourists. That's largely the same as you head into Haleiwa, which is highly recommended (if not essential) for everything from the local market, to fantastic restaurants and the North Shore's famous shrimp trucks (like Giovanni's). Go beyond Haleiwa and you'll quickly find yourself near the Banzai pipeline, where some of the best surfers in the world paddle out. Access to the rest of the island is easy via roads and highways. All in all, we absolutely recommend this beautiful place, and may be coming back ourselves. Mahalo!"
