  • Cheryl's condo was very nice,

"We loved the location of the condo. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Being foot steps from the beach was amazing. The outside of the grounds were very well maintained and the beach was beautiful. We loved waking up and going right out there. The drive Honolulu was about an hour but the drive was so pretty that it made it not bad at all. The North Shore side was absolutely spectacular. I would defiantly stay there again."

  • Charming and Delightful

"Our party of four loved staying at Blue Ginger. First of all Kathy, the owner, was very helpful in addressing all my questions prior to and after our stay. She really does an outstanding job providing all you may need for your stay. We were welcomed by a lovely bowl of fruit (the apple bananas were delish!) and a basket with coffee, tea, chocolates, etc.) The house was clean and kitchen was fully stocked – even included zip lock bags, paper towels, OFF bug spray, and some seasonings. The flower arrangements were gorgeous. The décor was charming and beds comfortable. We did have an occasional gecko that crawled on the walls, and a frog seemed to be sitting at the back door waiting to be invited in, but that just added to the charm of staying in a tropical home. There were plenty of bath and beach towels. She even provided laundry soap to wash our clothes. We enjoyed the BBQ one evening (included all the nec. tools). We left the windows open the entire time to allow the trade winds to flow through the house and it was wonderful. At night we did hear the traffic on the highway, but the sound of the waves crashing was so soothing it lullabied us to sleep. In the morning we could watch the sunrise from the windows in the front living room, but every morning I walked across the street sat on a picnic bench, or a rock on the beach to watch the sunrise. There are lots of crab holes and in the morning and when the sun came up, they would run out to the ocean! The beach gear was helpful to have, especially the rolling cooler, and beach mats. We took one of the Kayaks out across the street. We went snorkeling at Turtle Bay (nice calm waters), the rip currents at Sharks Cove were strong but we got to see a dolphin jumping around, and a beached Monk Seal – she swam right passed us to get back into the ocean. We ate at Uncle Bobo’s, a tiny little BBQ place up the road that was recommended by the owner and it was so good! We also ate at the Shrimp Truck which was a 3 minute walk to Ching’s Store (but I preferred the Shrimp Scampi plate we had a Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck which was about a 20 minute drive along the Hwy). North Shore Tacos was good and open late. The home and the area was quiet, relaxing and beautiful. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to those who are not expecting that high-end resort vacation lifestyle but rather a nice quiet, relaxing tropical home away from home."

  • Just as perfect as I could have hoped for...

"I was traveling with my 17 month old so I wanted to find a place that was toddler friendly AND away from the big cities, tourists and crowds. This was such a perfect location for us, the unit was beautiful, with gorgeous panoramic views and a huge wrap around lanai that we ate most of our meals on and it provided a nice outdoor play space as an extension to the living room. One thing I will add for anyone traveling with small children who are testing out gravity, the lanai is enclosed so little one's cannot throw anything off of the lanai several stories down. There was no need for AC, the cross breeze was pleasant and cooled down the unit sufficiently and it was so quiet that most nights all I could hear was the wind blowing the palm trees outside. The complex is close to the road but I found that closing the bedroom window at night reduced any noise it caused. I also loved having all of the sand toys available for my daughter and other beach accessories so we didn't have to buy or bring our own. The kitchen also had the basic essentials we needed for cooking meals. Also, the beach is just steps away from the building with a lush green lawn full of picnic tables, lounge chairs and grills. There is a very small market just across the street (Kaya's) that you can find very basic items and buy a really wonderful meal (2 Bald Guys) or buy some fresh fruits or a smoothie from the fruit stand outside. Otherwise, a larger market is about 10 minutes away as are several really great kid friendly activities. I really hope we find ourselves in O'ahu in the future so we can stay here again."

  • Home Away from Home! Steps away from the Beach

"Both my husband and I were both born in Oahu and have visited countless times since our childhood. We've stayed with family, different hotels in Waikiki and Ko Olina a few times. We've never stayed on the North Shore so this time we thought we'd try somewhere different. After reading all the rave review's about Emmanuel's condo at Pat's at Punaluu, we decided to book. We are sure glad we did! My husband, 3 daughters (ages 10, 4 and 3) and I thoroughly enjoyed our 10 nights here. It instantly became our home away from home. The kids loved going swimming almost every morning after breakfast. They couldn't understand why we would want to go to another beach on the days we'd want to venture out to Ala Moana Beach Park and Ko Olina Lagoons. It was great to have snorkeling equipment, boogie boards and sand toys - kids loved them! While in town on our first day, we went to Costco and WalMart so we could stock up with food, snacks and supplies for our stay. We cooked breakfast almost every morning and also grilled steaks on the community BBQ grills. I think the only thing missing as far as cooking utensils would be cooking tongs and a spatula for flipping pancakes and eggs but we made it work! They even had a rice cooker which is essential for Filipinos/Asians! I ran along north shore (even on the beach at times) on mornings and utilized their gym. Their community gym is small with older equipment but if you enjoy working out - you make do with what you have - no excuses! I even did yoga on the grass, under the palm trees with the sound of the ocean waves in the background. How cool is that?! There's no AC in the unit but there are ceiling and floor fans and the tradewinds are your natural AC! The weather was great while we were there June 28-July 8th. Since we've been to Hawaii many times, we knew all the spots we'd want to visit and places we wanted to eat. Drive can be 45-60min to get to different places around the island but we didn't mind the scenic drive and planned ahead on those days. Emmanuel was prompt and precise with his email and text communications. Very easy to work with! We would definitely stay here again."
