  • Family holiday and birthday vacation

"This holiday season, my boyfriend, our 14 year daughter and I took an unforgettable trip to the North Shore. We celebrated Christmas, my boyfriend's 40th birthday and the New Year at Yuki's house on Sunset Beach. The pictures are spot on. This house is so lovely and comfortable and has everything you need for an amazing Hawaiian experience. The beds were so soft and comfortable. The furniture is well kept and inviting. You can't help but lounge about. The kitchen has all sorts of utensils, pots, pans, etc... but we only cooked breakfast and made coffee. The laundry room was stocked with detergent so you can wash your beachwear immediately. The grounds are so well maintained. We got a glimpse of some of the landscaping crew working their magic. Now the best part, THE VIEW! From the living room, balcony and master bedroom you see, hear and smell the beautiful Pacific. We drank our coffee on the verandah every morning after waking to the sounds of the waves and random roosters that roam about the island. We were so thankful to have found this house! We stayed for about a week and did not want to leave. Yuki is so helpful and provides a lot of information before you even land in Oahu. Boogie boards, bikes, chairs and even a beach umbrella are there for you to use. The house is located in the heart of the North shore, so everything was only about a 20 min drive. We highly recommend renting a car and driving to see the other parts of the island, but I can guarantee, you will be staying on the best part of the island if you book this house..."

  • Sunset Beach House: 6 Stars [BETTER THAN 5]

"We had our entire family including grandparents (2), grandchildren (2), adult children and spouses (5) and 2 friends there for 15 nights. I must say that Sunset Beach House is very special with a separate wing right off the pool for my wife and I, both in our 70s, for perfect privacy and space galore for all, including a giant dining table that was comfortable for all and could have held more. The grandchildren had their own specail room with portholes for windows and bunkbeds for sleep and fun. Sunset Beach House is every bit as spectacular as the pictures but being there every night for sunset, viewing from the very deep pool, the large hot tub or virtually anywhere else on the beautiful property, was "to die for." I understand that there will be some redecoration (it doesn't need a thing) but the new owners want their own footprint, so when we go back I expect that it will be even more luxurious. It had all the amenities you could want both in the house and for outdoors, for the and pool, including toys and bikes for all ages, a full-size ping pong table, etc, etc. We could not have been more happy or made to feel more comfortable. We highly recommend Sunset Beach House to all. My 13 year old grandson and his friend both became certified scuba divers with Hawaii Eco Divers and I did some fabuolus wreck diving, among 9 other great dive sites, also with Eco Divers. Highly recommended. Also, hats off to Ralph and Ginger, the "guardians" of the property, with their own home, who were absolutely wonderful and as important, unobtrsuive. All the best, Rich Rubin and Family"

  • Cozy cottage in the heart of the North Shore

"The cottage is located next to the best surfing beaches on the north shore, yet set back from the main road on a relatively quiet street, and just a short walk to the beach. If you want to get away from the craziness in Honolulu and Waikiki, this is a great place to stay just an hour away. The cottage has been completely refurbished and was extremely clean and in excellent condition . It has a nice patio and barbecue grill just outside the front door. It is located just a few miles north of the Banzai Pipeline, Sunset Beach, and the food trucks. If you drive east a few miles, go to the Turtle Bay Resort. Great bar to watch sunsets. Immediately to the east of the resort is a public beach with excellent snorkeling when the shore isn't being pounded by 20 foot waves. There are a lot of parking spaces set aside at the resort for beach access. If you drive a little further east you'll end up at all the shrimp stands. Continue east, and you can visit Kailua and Lanikai. We loved the location and the privacy and would definitely stay here again if we come back to the north shore."

  • Amazing Beach-Front House

"Our family of 5 (children ages 6, 10, and 11) stayed at Sunset Hale for 8 nights. What an amazing house!!! The house was very clean upon arrival. We had breakfast and coffee on the lanai watching the surfers every morning. We swam in the ocean every morning and at every sunset. The outdoor shower was great so we wouldn't track too much sand into the house. The kitchen was fully stocked with all kitchen utensils, which was important to us because we cooked a lot of meals at the house. The bathrooms were large and spacious with huge bathtubs. The beds were very comfortable and the extra fans in the bedrooms came in handy for a couple of hot nights. We were very thankful for the beach towels and washer and dryer. The side yard and small side streets were fun for the kids to explore. And the pool table!!! Instead of watching tv to relax when at the house, our family played pool and loved it! We loved the location, as it was close to Waimea Bay, Shark's Cove, good surfing spots for beginners (August), and of course Sunset beach, Bonzai Pipeline, etc. Any time we had questions about the house or things to do Fred got back to us right away and was very helpful. We will most definitely be staying at Sunset Hale on our next trip to the North Shore."
