  • Can you say...aaaaa...loha?

"My wife and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year and decided to spend it in Hawaii. We've always stayed on Maui but this trip decided to stay on Ohau for the first week before heading to Maui for the second week. We prefer the quieter side of things so staying in or even near Honolulu and Waikiki was of no interest so we started looking at the North Shore. We found our dream vacation place only an hour north. We could not be more pleased with the decision!!! Chaney and Myles made the booking and arrival so easy and the house and location was exactly as expected. No frills was no problem. We wanted a place where we could completely relax...and found that the few times we did leave the house we were anxious to get back to it because it was so peaceful. We had thought about doing some touristy things but decided to spend most of our time...at the beach house. The beach was literally in your face and only a few steps down from the lanai to the sand although the vegetation growing between the two gave very nice privacy. The surf was up for this time of year with swells at 10'-12' at least. Surfers were taking advantage of it and we would sit there and take it all in. We walked the beach every morning, stopping at Ted's Bakery for breakfast a few of those times...which is a must. Again, no frills but oh so good. In fact the nicest meals we had were either cooked at the house, Ted's (breakfast and leftovers) or one of the many food trucks. And, as everyone mentions, the outdoor shower is amazing. We never used the one inside. With the sunsets, the views, the sound of the surf and feeling like we were away from it all was more than we could have asked for. We would definitely go again, and stay a little longer next time. Doug & Deb the Colorado Rocky Mountains"

  • Loved it! Comfortable, Clean and had everything we needed

"We enjoyed our stay. We stayed a total of 10 nights and there were 4 people in our party. The bed fits two adults and then the couches in the Living Room when put together fits another two people. There is a good sized dining table and lots of other chairs for seating. Beautiful View of the ocean from the balcony where we spent a lot of time sitting and eating. There was a nice breeze that would flow through when the doors and windows are open. I would definitely recommend this condo and this is coming from someone who lived in Hau'ula for 10 years so I am pretty local to the area. It was very comfortable for us and we made a lot of great memories there. Lots of great places to eat... Two Bald Guys and the Shrimp Truck across the street are so good... Also Papa Ole's at the Hauula Kai Shopping center is also fantastic. Always good to hit up one of the Luau's at Polynesian Cultural Center for some good food too - they also have a nice market place which they never had before. Also Tamura's at Hauula Kai shopping ctr carries Ted Bakery Pies so we were stoked we didn't have to drive to Sunset to buy a Chocolate Haupia Pie (even tho Sunset is only a 20min drive). Mahalo Cheryl and family for opportunity to stay in your home. Will def be back."

  • Mahalo Nui Loa (Thank you very much)

"Being a Kamaaina (one who has lived on the islands for some time) now living in Huntington Beach, California, I was very particular on the location of the rental property we chose to celebrate my son's 21st birthday surf trip in VLand. The house was spacious, clean and perfect in it's location, decorated with island and surf influence. It had more amenities than listed or one can imagine Nikki the property management was warm and friendly in helping us settle in. We could not have asked for a better place to spend an entire week with the Ohana (family). The neighbors greeted us with Aloha and made us feel at home. We plan to return next year for another stay in paradise, if Britt will have us! Aloha nui, The Richardson Ohana"

  • Great studio with very easy access to beach

"We booked this for 3 nights in Sept and would liked to have stayed for longer. This is a ground floor studio in a private beachside residential area about 4-5 miles south west of the Turtle Bay resort. It looked as though it was converted from being a garage judging by the low-ish ceiling, the room dimension and its position in the property. The apartment is part of a stylish family property in a small cul de sac and a member of the owner's family lives upstairs and provides friendly and helpful advice without being intrusive. We enjoyed: Good A/C Good value for money Good wifi Being so close that we could take our coffee and breakfast to the beach, or enjoy a glass of wine watching sunsets Having outside garden space with easy chairs and a charcoal barbecue Short drive to Foodland and local shrimp and other food trucks near Pupukea beach park. Secluded and sheltered parking in lush vegetation with entertaining chickens and lizards and geckos Quiet residential area The downsides of this property were relatively minor but included Low ceiling .. Which could concern those with claustrophobic tendencies Views limited to space outside house. No view of ocean from within the apartment Kitchen utensils limited - notably no corkscrew for wine Quirky conversion/repairs give distinct feeling of a DIY job These minor negative points are probably reflected in this being a relatively low cost rental for such a great location. We wished we had stayed longer."
