  • Beautiful, well kept home in great location

"We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was across the highway from a very pretty beach, but during the time we were there, the water at this beach was murky and the kids didn't want to play in it. It was great for watching others boogie board and kite surf, though. The home was close to grocery shopping, restaurants, the LDS Temple, Polynesian Cultural Center, and BYU-Hawaii. Location is great! The home itself is very clean, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. It's 2 bedrooms fit the 6 of us perfectly. The kitchen is wonderful! Lots of counter space and everything you need to make your own meals. We appreciated the dishwasher :) Bathroom includes a bathtub, which is nice when you have a younger child who doesn't like showers. Downsides have been mentioned by all the other reviewers - no air conditioning, so you need to keep the windows open, and since it's on the highway, you have the street noise. But I must say that there was a heavenly breeze that kept the home cool the entire time we were there!"

  • Absolutely wonderful family holiday at Honu Hale !

"We celebrated a big birthday with our kids and our new grandbaby and had the most wonderful time at Honu Hale 11. What a wonderful welcome when we opened the front door. All you can see is SEA. We loved the open concept of the house. The split plan of the bedrooms was great and the master suite is lovely with a spa like bathroom and windows facing the ocean. The Chef’s kitchen was a delight to cook in with all the amenities included with stocked spices and cookware as well as plenty of cutlery and table settings. Linda the caretaker of the house is lovely and we did get a chance to meet and chat with her. She gave us lots of ideas for different activities and places to shop. We did a big grocery shop at COSTCO on the way up from Honolulu. There is also a Walmart very close on the way to the North Shore. It is a fully functional, spacious home and having the ocean within 20 yards is easy on the eyes and makes for a very relaxing stay. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here and we definitely hope to be back. Many thanks for opening your home to us!"

  • Nice large house close to the beach

"Large Indonesian-style house. We got slightly lost trying to find it due to the address not being on our printed-out material when we had no internet and had foreign phones with expensive data.We then had a bit of trouble with opening the key-safe but got in OK in the end. Large spacious house with high rafters (some of the high bolts looked pretty loose!). The low wall partitions between the rooms meant that every small noise (think bathrooms and bedrooms) could be heard throughout the house. No air-conditioning made the house very hot in the late afternoon and the roosters started at about 4.00am (a bit later when it was raining). Other than that, the house was comfortable and fairly well supplied (a vacuum cleaner for the glass my daughter broke may have prevented 3 of us getting tiny glass fragments in our feet. There may have been one but we couldn't find it.) Took a couple of days to find the kitchen sink plug and detergent (they were outside!) and there was no dish brush or pot scourer. The kitchen area was spacious and well equipped with crockery and glassware. It was a pity that a kitchen that size didn't have a dishwasher. The bedrooms and bathrooms were well presented, clean and well made up. There was some snorkelling gear, beach umbrella and chairs and boogie boards there for use (which we availed ourselves of). The local beaches were great... Three Tables Beach very handy, Shark's Cove about 500m north had good snorkelling with lots of fish( as in fact did Three Tables) and Waimea Bay had beautiful sand and clear water (and rock jumping for some). The Foodland Pupukea shop was also handy for getting groceries. We had a really good stay and while some things were unable to be resolved (the roosters), an airconditioner and dishwasher would certainly have helped. Overall we still give it 4 stars as it was a great base."

  • Happy we stayed here Couple

"Looking for a quiet getaway we stayed at this romantic Condo on the north shore. It’s an upstairs corner unit with lots of windows to enjoy the tropical breeze...we spent an afternoon on the Lanai overlooking the golf course. You can walk to the resort, golf course, pool and spend the day on the beach. This stylish Condo is so nice, you may not want to leave. We enjoyed the gourmet style kitchen and living room entertainment center. The loft Master is very cozy and the bed, very comfortable. The main floor has a futon area and a full bath that would work for a small family vacation too."
