  • Fun, Slightly Quirky Place with a Fantastic Location

"We stayed at Liz Taylor's (as we came to call it) over Christmas for two weeks in 2014 (disregard above date). Our two kids, age 8 and 9.5, and my parents joined us and we had such a great time. As other mention, there are some quirks and in a lot of ways you can see the house is set up for catering type situations (weddings in particular) - example: a really big kitchen without as much cabinet space as you would expect. But we found places for everything and had more than most would due to the length of our stay. The open floor plan is great. Indoor pool was awesome for the kiddos. But the real kicker is the ocean front - the view is great, the little beach is nice, and the bay is shallow for a long way out - I could go out a couple of hundred yards and be only waist deep (at low tide, you could go further). Our kids are both strong swimmers, but we traveled to go out and get in some surf. We would take the lounge chairs down and sit in the water and read - that calm and nice. Nice enough access into the heart of Honolulu, but also nice to be out of the area. We spent a lot of time over on the Windward side and this is a quick jump around the point. As others have said, Albert was great and the team was always very responsive to any questions we had. A great option to consider versus hotels in Honolulu proper, especially if you have more than 4 people. Highly recommnded! And say hi to the ducks for us ..."

  • Excellent with a few exceptions

"This home is beautiful. Location is wonderful. Close to everything but not closed in by the high rises of Honolulu. All the included extras: every kitchen gadget you could possibly need, kayaks, beautiful pool, huge TV. Beautiful view and a master bath shower that will have you wanting to remodel as soon as you return home. Only a couple of drawbacks worth a mention. No AC downstairs could be a problem if it was really hot outside and you are used to full house AC . Once we had the house open for a couple of days the abundance of fans and the trade winds kept it comfortable. The second minor hiccup is that even with three full baths to go with the bedrooms, one of them is downstairs with all three bedrooms upstairs. If you have members of your group who have difficulties with stairs, as we did, this could prove quite an annoyance. Would we return? DEFINITELY!! Just wanted other renters to be aware and let the surprises during your visit to be the magnificent views, both here and around every turn on this beautiful island."

  • Beautiful home in a great location! Perfect for multiple familes

"We just returned from our week stay in the home in Honolulu. We had plenty of room for the 12 of us in this home. It was nice to have room to spread out and not feel cramped like a hotel can make you feel. We were very busy on this trip and it was also helpful to have the linens, towels, laundry detergent, paper goods and kitchen condiments all ready there. We used the grill a few times for dinner and almost every day used the pool. The rooms have individual air units and were comfortable. The main kitchen and bathrooms were warm but if you used a fan, it was fine. This house is so close to many things including a Costco! Go there and get the fresh pineapple and Poke bowls. The pier is also pretty for pictures and watching people fish. Overall, great trip! Rick and Cynthia were very easy to work with and we would stay there again! We miss it already! Mahalo"
