  • Fun, Slightly Quirky Place with a Fantastic Location

"We stayed at Liz Taylor's (as we came to call it) over Christmas for two weeks in 2014 (disregard above date). Our two kids, age 8 and 9.5, and my parents joined us and we had such a great time. As other mention, there are some quirks and in a lot of ways you can see the house is set up for catering type situations (weddings in particular) - example: a really big kitchen without as much cabinet space as you would expect. But we found places for everything and had more than most would due to the length of our stay. The open floor plan is great. Indoor pool was awesome for the kiddos. But the real kicker is the ocean front - the view is great, the little beach is nice, and the bay is shallow for a long way out - I could go out a couple of hundred yards and be only waist deep (at low tide, you could go further). Our kids are both strong swimmers, but we traveled to go out and get in some surf. We would take the lounge chairs down and sit in the water and read - that calm and nice. Nice enough access into the heart of Honolulu, but also nice to be out of the area. We spent a lot of time over on the Windward side and this is a quick jump around the point. As others have said, Albert was great and the team was always very responsive to any questions we had. A great option to consider versus hotels in Honolulu proper, especially if you have more than 4 people. Highly recommnded! And say hi to the ducks for us ..."

  • Beautiful home in a great location! Perfect for multiple familes

"We just returned from our week stay in the home in Honolulu. We had plenty of room for the 12 of us in this home. It was nice to have room to spread out and not feel cramped like a hotel can make you feel. We were very busy on this trip and it was also helpful to have the linens, towels, laundry detergent, paper goods and kitchen condiments all ready there. We used the grill a few times for dinner and almost every day used the pool. The rooms have individual air units and were comfortable. The main kitchen and bathrooms were warm but if you used a fan, it was fine. This house is so close to many things including a Costco! Go there and get the fresh pineapple and Poke bowls. The pier is also pretty for pictures and watching people fish. Overall, great trip! Rick and Cynthia were very easy to work with and we would stay there again! We miss it already! Mahalo"

  • "Over the top" Special Place

""Over the top beautiful " was how my architect husband described this very special house as we entered. A beautiful piece of paradise and perfect for our once a year get together with my 2 sisters and brother in law. As is typical for houses in the islands, the very open concept and many sliding doors and windows, allowed the trades through the first floor from all directions. The bedrooms also are open but do have ac. Beautifully and tastefully decorated, the artwork gives a bit of a window into the humor of the owners ... The Puffin/Nuffin and Judgment(?) prints a fav. We were very comfortable in all of the rooms and had a great time watching the featured cook of the day make use of the outstanding kitchen. Outside, many hours were spent catching up in the blue tiled pool and dining at the comfortable large table. The outside shower and Kayaks were also well used. This house had everything and more. The location although on a busy road, was not a problem at all. In fact, this house is perfectly located for many adventures. I could keep going but other great reviews say it too.... We want to thank Elizabeth for acting as a gracious hostess and Julie for setting everything up for us. Most of all thank you to the owners for sharing their special home. Pandy R."

  • Overall Good

"Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is and old house with some upgrades. Very nice decor, comfy beds and couches, great for families. We arrived at the property at 3:20 and the cleaners were still there in the driveway packing up. We entered the home and the dining table and kitchen counter had a lot of crumbs and some food on it. There were cigarette butts in the front plants on the driveway and water bottles on the stone wall separating the property on the right. The iron gate in the backyard, that leads out to the beach is a major safety hazard as it is hanging on one hinge. The bottom is rusty and broken. The light bulb in the master bath is out and the toilet makes a horrendous sound after each flush. And probably the most disappointing is that the jacuzzi was at 87 degrees. (It took a few hours for it to heat up). I emailed the office when I got home on the above issues, her response was, "Thank you for your comments and I will pass this on to the cleaning department. As for the hot tub, the cleaners empty and clean it between bookings so it does take a while to heat up but we would rather have it cool upon your arrival verses dirty." Why not just set the temperature up when the cleaners leave at 3? Non apologetic, but thankful for my comments, and passing the buck off to the cleaners."
