"Kind of the best of all worlds here! Beach within steps. Starbucks downstairs. Endless restaurant choices & shops within 2 blocks. We were worried after a chill week in Maui that it would be too busy in Honolulu, however the fantastic view from the lanai of this condo is the perfect spot for breakfast mimosas or drinks in the evening. Hardly knew we were in a city! But, we also were able to slip out and enjoy some fabulous shops & great restaurants! The condo is well stocked and has everything you'll need for a perfect stay including a comfy bed, beach chairs and an umbrella. We LOVED that you could see the turtles in the water from the balcony. Made some fantastic memories being able to just walk out to the beach mere steps away and swim with turtles!! TURTLES!! That swim around with YOU!!! :) There are also lots of tours/activities that leave from near here. We spent 3 days here and did not need a car. The owner & his agent were helpful & lovely to deal with. Simply a fantastic view you will never tire of with every thing else you could want/need within blocks! Would most definitely love to stay here again!"

  • a great condo-- I just don't give 5 stars.....

"We had a wonderful March and April in Hawaii and this condo was perfect for us! The Colony Surf is located across from Kapiolani Park and a 15 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. We enjoyed not being in Waikiki, -- But could easily walk there--- and loved the easy access to the east side of the island for visiting old friends, as a starting point for our walks around the park, around Diamond Head, to the Kapiolani farmers market and even to Whole Foods in Kahala Mall. If one doesn't want to walk, the bus stop is 100 feet from the building and one could take it anywhere. Having a parking space was great for when we rented a car. The views from the condo of the ocean when you looked to the right and of Diamond Head to the left are ones we did not tire of and that we are missing. We watched whales, sailboats, and surfers and saw amazing sunrises over majestic Diamond head We loved spending time at San Souci Beach-- there is a small beach at the Colony Surf-- but it could get crowded so being able to walk a few steps to this wonderful swimming beach was great! The fact the unit was a true one bedroom worked very well for us as opposed to the open studio that most of the colony surf units are. The unit is well stocked for cooking. The furniture is aging, but comfortable. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was great! I can't say enough good things about the process of renting with Gary and Judy and truly thank them for letting us spend time in their Hawaiian home. We hope to be able to again spend a month or two in Hawaii Just as a p.s. And for full disclosure The Outrigger club next door with its outdoor volleyball court and dining area can be quite loud at times, and you will hear music from the Elks Club on certain nights. -- some musical acts better than others.😄. It didn't go late into the night-- I think the club must close at 9 or 10. And for us these sounds were much more pleasant than the sounds of sirens and traffic that one hears in Waikiki proper."

  • Just perfect!

"This place is is Clean Clean Clean! The bed is soooo comfortable. It has everything you need but really all I need is the coffee maker. I can't live without my coffee every morning so thank you Mark. The hotel is cute and carry a sense of peace as you enter and the staffs are very friendly. We didn't use the pool since the beach is a block and a half away. You can catch the bus right in front and go everywhere around the island. The owner is friendly and always just a phone call away if you have any question. We wanted to stay longer but unfortunately it was booked so we have to move to another rental. I highly recommended this home away from home to everyone I know."

  • First time Hawaii

"This property is clean, convenient, secure, plenty of amenities and well worth the price we paid. We stayed two full weeks. Our first time to rent a condo for vacation. Always hated paying high hotel rates for services we don't use and over priced restaurant food. Emanuel's place on Kalakaua Blvd definitely solved that problem. If I were to return to Honolulu, this is the first place I would check. A five star hotel it is not, but I gave it five stars, it was exactly as the web pictures and description described. I give it five stars for: cost value, cleanliness, securaty, and amenities..had virtually everything we needed, smart tv even allowed us to log in to our Netflix account, convenience...five steps to the elevator is right. Keyed security to elevator, building entry and parking garage was a great plus. Parking in Waikiki is difficult at best. But plan for a mid size or compact car. A full size or SUV may be a problem. A great place to take day trips from. We brought our GPS, planned our day trips and we were off. Dollar rental car is just a couple of blocks down the street. That parking garage was worth its weight in gold! There are two convenience stores literally adjacent on either side of the property...a real plus. Google maps will confirm a small market just 800 feet around the corner from the 7-Eleven. They'll have most all your food and personals needs there in walking distance. Having a kitchen was great! Saved $$$ on food. Allowed us to eat out only when WE wanted to. Walmart is literally a one turn drive up the street about 8 blocks for more serious needs. Restaurants are all around you in walking distance as well as more shopping than your credit card will allow. The beach is best accessed going straight down Ala Moana Blvd and through the Hilton Hawaiian Village where you'll find even more restaurants and shops. Dress for the beach, walk a few blocks through the Hilton, enjoy the beach, shower off...have a drink or lunch and simply walk back to the condo. The neighborhood was a clean well kept main access area of combo business and residential. We felt safe and comfortable on all our walking ventures. The highway does get a little noisy at times but calms down at night. While the place will sleep more than two, I felt it most comfortable for my wife and I. The balcony is handy, a little small but we could sit comfortably and do a little people watching. That's another form of entertainment in Waikiki. Don't hesitate to rent this property."
