  • Aloha, Paradise!

"For our first time visiting Hawaii we had the most wonderful vacation in Paradise! None of us wanted to leave Honolulu towards the end of our trip. The Penthouse was a real diamond! All 7 of us had more than enough space and the best part of all, the Jacuzzi, pool, and beach nearby. The location was perfect and close to everything: Waikiki beach with Diamond Head views/ restaurants/ bars/ shopping/ groceries/ transportation. We did a lot of hiking and sightseeing on our trip and this was the prime location as everything on our bucket list was nearby. The views from the apartment and the rooftop were breathtaking; a real Mauka to Makai experience with one side facing towards the mountains and the other pointing out to the ocean. Sunrises and sunsets every day. Fireworks, food festivals, and more fun - our teens had a blast! Alex was great with his detailed tips and instructions. The apartment was more than accommodating and felt like home. Thank you for the lifetime memories! We hope to be back soon some time in the near future as so many more adventures await in Paradise...Mahalo!!!"

  • Excellent Place!

"My wife and I stayed at the Waikiki Retreat, and really, it is all there! Its a perfect, quaint little spot with everything you need for your stay. The pictures are exactly how the studio suite looks. The listing was accurate for location and layout. It was clean, quiet and comfy. The bed was comfortable and everything worked (coffee maker, shower, air-conditioning, wifi). It was very close to a grocery store which made it easy to cook our own meals. Carol was great in answering any questions we had before and during our stay. It was a quick short walk to the beach, and was short walk to any restaurant. Overlooking the canal and golf course was nice, especially with the hills hugging the clouds in the back ground. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay, and I know we will book again when we go!"

  • Perfect!

"Although we have been to Waikiki many times and are familiar with the neighbourhood, this was our first time staying in a VRBO and we were unsure what to expect. Any concerns were put to rest immediately once we arrived in room 624. We couldn't believe we found such a beautiful place to stay for our vacation. The Ilikai Hotel is stunning and perfectly situated for our needs. It was a pleasure to have a short walk to the beach without the need to cross any roads. Although situated at the quieter end of Waikiki, there is no shortage of great restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The room was updated, clean and attractively furnished - just like in the photos. We did not make use of the kitchen (it is my vacation after all :) ), but it appeared to be well stocked. The lani has a beautiful view and is comfortably furnished. The only thing I could say that was less than perfect was that the bed was too firm for my preference; however, it would not stop me from happily choosing to stay in this lovely unit again in the future. I look forward to another visit another year."

  • Great place, very clean and comfortable with everything you need to feel just like at home

"Perfect location in Waikiki, on a safe and quiet street, just a block away from Kuhio (street with stores, including a small supermarket), two blocks from Kalakaua (most touristy avenue with all the luxury brands and restaurants) and three blocks from the beach. You do not need a car: you may walk to all locations on Waikiki, and take the bus to visit Honolulu (don´t miss the palace downtown). But if you have a car, there is a covered private space. As this is a corner unit, just opening the windows was enough to keep it cool (in May), and we never turned on the AC. Everything you needed was there (and top quality) in kitchen , bathroom and bedroom. There were even beach towels, umbrellas and foldable chairs. The one thing missing is a lunch table, so you take your meals on the kitchen bar/counter or on the balcony. The rooms are large and the balcony very private and pleasant. The views are limited by other buildings, but you can get a glimpse of the canal in the back and of the fireworks on Friday evening. The pool is small and mostly in the shade , and you can cook a BBQ next to it (which, by the way, you can also do at Ft de Russy beach). Communication with Megan and Justin was simple, they always replied to our emails within a day or two (we never had to call) , and they returned our safety deposit in the week after our departure. On Waikiki, you can enjoy sunrise and sunsets: in the early morning, jog to the top of Diamond head, around the zoo park, or along Ft de Russy beach. In the late afternoon, swim at the beach or have a drink at the terrace of Buho (Mexican restaurant) or the new open terrace at Top-of-Waikiki. The month went by so quickly that we wished we could have stayed longer."
