"I moved to Los Angeles from Oahu almost 30 years ago, and I return home every couple of years to visit family. When I go home, I usually take 1 friend who stays with me at my regular spot, the Moana. However, this trip, I decided that it would be a 4 gal trip....2 40 somethings, 1 60 something, and me (50 something)....all very young at heart! We wanted a location that was close enough to the beach so we could spot each other from the room on the beach, and at the same time, be in the heart of Waikiki so we could walk to restaurants, shops, and clubs at night. Additionally, since we had a group of 4 it was important to have a comfortable living room / entertaining, common area so we ladies could sit around and have coffee, chit chat at the end of the day, etc.
The unit: This 2 bedroom/2 bath unit was the right and perfect unit for our needs. Photos don't do the place justice. The sunsets from the lanais are beyond magnificent! The master bedroom was amazing with a huge walk in closet, double sinks to spread out, and door between the master toilet and sink area. The master overlooks the ocean and has a sliding door that leads to the lanai...we slept with that door open every night and feel asleep and woke up to the lovely sound of the waves. I had a baby shower for my sister and had 25 people over comfortably no problem. There is a buffet counter in the dining area that was perfect for the event. Ample seating inside and out. Another great thing was the keyless entry! We didn't have to share a key between the 4 of us...we just each wrote the key code / combination and were able to access the unit independently. Every amenity (icemaker, and even Bedais in both bathrooms!) Additionally, parking is free daily! At the Moana I think the parking was $40 per day! The washer and dryer allowed us to do laundry and return home with clean clothing. We purchased all of the things we know we would need from Kmart on the way into Waikiki from the airport (laundry detergent, inner tubes / noodles, sun screen, food, snacks, etc.). Be sure you ask Paul to show you how to utilize the TV and actually operate it before he leaves...we had to call him to get it to work for us.
Service: Paul the property manager was amazing. The Captain Cook office team was tremendous in answering all of my questions and addressing my concerns.
Bottom Line: I will find it difficult to stay anywhere else going forward...I am spoiled now with the room and location!"
