  • Fitted our needs perfectly!!

"Ilikai ...high floor...unobstructed view to the to the Hilton Royal Hawaiian Village...Friday night fireworks...awesome pool and attendant...Cinnamon for breakfast...filming of Hawaii 5-0. This place was simply awesome. Larger than the studios we looked at and mush nicer. the communication was a little difficult but went off very smoothly. If you are visiting the island, don't skip this condo."

  • Awesome condo in paradise

"Rob and Virginia's condo is perfect - perfectly appointed and perfectly located. Having lived in Honolulu previously, I knew that this condo was in a great place for us. It is situated between Waikiki and Ala Moana shopping center, on the # 8 and #22 bus lines. This helped us from having to rent a car for our stay - we went everywhere by bus. There were 3 in our party- my husband, our daughter and myself. The condo has wonderful beds with firm mattresses and lots of pillows. Air conditioning is not necessary when the trades blow and you open the sliders. We chose to not cook, but the kitchen has everything you would need to prepare and eat meals. A quick trip to the new Foodland Farms at Ala Moana supplied fruit, bagels, milk, cereal and the best poke on the island. We ate lunch and dinner out or ordered from Room Service in Paradise. You can find them online and they deliver from some of the best restaurants on the island. There is also a Red Lobster and Outback Steakhouse next door. Across the street you will find the ABC convenience store and a Food Pantry is located a short 5 minute walk away if you need more substantial supplies. An Alamo and National car rental offices are located across the street, as well. Rob and Virginia thoughtfully placed grab bars in the shower, so no need to worry about slipping on wet tile. They also supplied a broom and vacuum to quickly clean up any sand you may have tracked in from the beach. The Ilikai is situated between the Ala Wai yacht harbor and Duke Kahanamoku lagoon. It is a 10 minute walk (or less by bus) to Ala Moana Beach Park. As you walk past the lagoon and toward Waikiki beach, you will pass the Hale Koa at Fort DeRussy. They have a stand on the beach where you can rent just about any beach/sport equipment you might need. They also offer instruction for surfing and stand up paddle boarding. The Ilikai has its own pool and has 2 shops just off the lobby. There were complimentary newspapers at the bell desk every afternoon. And there is live entertainment offered downstairs on many evenings. Just open the sliding doors and listen to the music waft into the room. I can't recommend this condo enough. It is perfect for couples or families, especially those on a budget. Honolulu can be very expensive, and at a fraction of the price of a resort hotel room the Ilikai location makes it much more affordable. Rob and Virginia were great hosts, we look forward to staying here again."

  • Best condo experience ever

"The condo is beautifully designed and situated in such a convenient central location in Waikiki! Most of the popular sites are either walking distance or easily accessible by bus. The owner has thought of nearly every amenity to make a visitor's stay as comfortable as possible. The kitchen is well designed for functional use and the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, plus pull out sofa bed set up makes it a great rental for medium size families. The pullout bed is surprisingly substantially more comfortable than most even though it squeeks a bit. The adjustable AC is available in every room which is a godsend after a long day in the sun and they are all equipped with strong fans. There are coin operated shared laundry rooms located just down the hall which is convenient for light packers. The television is Internet ready with Netflix, Amazon, etc... and there are multiple electrical outlets easily accessible in every room. Between the counter, the dining table, the coffee table and the balcony seating, there is plenty of space to relax and eat or lounge. The balconies offer both a beautiful city view and partial oceanview with an overview of Hilton Hawaiian Village's performance stage for free entertainment and the upper floor provides a fantastic natural breeze for a breath of fresh evening air. The furniture is very tasteful, the cushions are very plush and there are plenty of bed pillows in just about every firmness. The entire unit is very clean and kept in good order. A lovely personal touch is a guest journal where guests can write about their experience including feedback or recommended places to eat or sights to see. The owner has provided plenty of suggestions for out of towners to check out the local area and I loved all of the recommendations. With hotel like accommodations in a place designed with a personal and homey touch, this condo has won my family over on every single level. I'm so glad I lucked out by finding this place and not only will I come back here on a returning trip, I'd highly recommend this unit to any and all of my friends and family also looking to visit Waikiki."
