  • Small but in a great location

"Read previous reviews so knew what to expect. Location is key, your are steps from the beach and a lot of key buses that will take you out of the city to some great sites. Liked the fact that there was beach gear that you can use and not have to pay rentals for e.g. snorkling gear, body boards and beech mats. Like the fact that this is like a home with things like utensils, salt and pepper, and they provided beer for the guest (sadly to say I am not a beer drinker but still liked the touch). Great views of Diamond head from the 10th floor!!! One thing that stuck out was I had an issue with the door being stuck and not able to get in; the owner Clayton responded very quickly to the issue (was there in 5 minutes) and got me in. Was very impressed by that!"

  • How did we love this? Let me count the ways...

"I am sorely tempted to not review this little gem of a perfectly located, adorable, comfortable studio apartment because we want to stay there when we return to Waikiki and it books up very quickly with new and returning guests. The location at the east end of Waikiki is perfect, close enough to walk to the hubbub, but far enough from the congestion and the crowds. The building is a ten story high rise called the Waikiki Grand Hotel. The desk staff is friendly, the building is clean and Daniel's apartment is in a quiet location on the fourth floor. The unit is not on the beach view side, but that is okay -- it feels like a tree house, because at four floors up, you look out onto the leaves and branches of a huge tropical tree. There is a solid wall of windows that you can open and let the tropical breeze in. There is a galley kitchen that is fully stocked with dishes, coffee maker, etc. The bathroom is roomy with shower/tub combo. Daniel supplies plenty of towels, high thread count cotton sheets, etc. There are beach towels and beach chairs supplied for your convenience. Daniel has decorated the place in a clean, modern style with interesting artwork on the walls (always a plus for us). The unit is very clean, with none of the usual tropical schmutz you often find in Hawaiian rentals -- always a plus! The laundry room is in the basement. The machines are new and the cost is minimal. Our laundry was done in under an hour. The laundry room is secure, so you don't have to sit there and watch the machines spin - you can go back upstairs and watch the big screen TV (with cable) in the studio. We stayed four nights and for half of that we had a rental car. You can reserve a parking place in the basement through the front desk, the cost is not high for a full 24 hours (I think from Saturday till Monday it cost 33$ total). Daniel is concerned for his guests' comfort AND he returned our damage deposit in full before our flight home touched down at LAX. We love Honolulu and we'd stayed at a $350+ per night hotel there in the past. Daniel's studio is just as nice as those hotels, it is located in a sweet, convenient spot (oh, there is a Starbucks a block away; an abc store downstairs, everything you might want is a very short stroll away.) We look forward to staying in the studio again!"

  • Great!

"My husband and I stayed here while attending a wedding at the aquarium. This unit was great! The wall of windows that you can open provided a bigger view of Diamond Head than we expected. Being in the Waikiki Grand was perfect for us, you get to experience the liveliness/action of Honolulu but we liked being on the edge of a more quiet beach/park. It is only a short ride up one floor in the elevator to an amazing deck with fantastic views of Diamond Head and the magic of the ocean here. It was great to overlook the trees of the zoo and occasionally hear the animals. The beach was fantastic and the water gorgeous and clear. We enjoyed snorkeling straight out from this building and watching all the activity -sailboats/surfers/paddle boards."

  • Very nice

"Nice condo, in a nice part of Waikiki where the crowds are not as large. Easy walking distance to a lot of sights. Spent two days here and never used a vehicle to drive anywhere."
