  • Great location. Very responsive owner

"Location was great. Easy access to beach and lots of food options close by. Street can get a little noisy especially in the mornings. David was very responsive and unit was well furnished and appointed. The refrigerator was not quite up to the task of keeping perishable cold so if you plan on a lot of scratch cooking, bear that in mind but was fine for keeping eggs and drinks cold. A great value for its location, not super luxury. But we spent most of our time out and about and mostly just slept there. I'd definitely rent there again but if you the type that wants to be waited on and pampered this is not the place"

  • unit was conveniently located with fun activities for the kids!

"Overall this unit was nice and conveniently close to the beach and shops. Kids had a blast in the pool and hot tubs as well as playground and courts. The only issue was the constantly wet lanai from the AC which made access to lanai a safety concern. Otherwise it was ok for adults to enjoy the view. Dining chairs were a little worn but still doable. Shower curtain kept flying when shower head was on causing floor to be wet so we would have to wipe floor every after shower. Parking was available for tenants 1 vehicle plus 1 guest only for max 4 hrs. Otherwise street Prkg next option which was impossible on weekends. Also $20 Prkg for 24hrs available for others. We enjoyed our stay here in the middle of Waikiki and rates reasonable. (Luau tickets were not received though)."

  • Comfortable and Clean

"I just got back Saturday morning from staying for 10 days in Steve's condo. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. The condo was very clean and has everything you need for your stay. Steve even provided beach towels for us to use. This condo is close to everything. There are ABC stores, several places to eat and places to shop all around. The new International Market just opened and it is maybe a block away. The lanai is spacious and you can access it from the bedroom or the living room. There is a laundry facility onsite and the building itself is very clean and well maintained. The pool is on the roof which gives you a great view of the city and beach. Steve was very easy to work with and he has thought of everything. Bring your clothes, bathing suit and camera and your set! I hope to be back before my son leaves Hawaii for his next duty station. I will definitely contact Steve when I plan on returning. Thanks Steve for a great place to stay while I visited my son."

  • Awesome condo in paradise

"Rob and Virginia's condo is perfect - perfectly appointed and perfectly located. Having lived in Honolulu previously, I knew that this condo was in a great place for us. It is situated between Waikiki and Ala Moana shopping center, on the # 8 and #22 bus lines. This helped us from having to rent a car for our stay - we went everywhere by bus. There were 3 in our party- my husband, our daughter and myself. The condo has wonderful beds with firm mattresses and lots of pillows. Air conditioning is not necessary when the trades blow and you open the sliders. We chose to not cook, but the kitchen has everything you would need to prepare and eat meals. A quick trip to the new Foodland Farms at Ala Moana supplied fruit, bagels, milk, cereal and the best poke on the island. We ate lunch and dinner out or ordered from Room Service in Paradise. You can find them online and they deliver from some of the best restaurants on the island. There is also a Red Lobster and Outback Steakhouse next door. Across the street you will find the ABC convenience store and a Food Pantry is located a short 5 minute walk away if you need more substantial supplies. An Alamo and National car rental offices are located across the street, as well. Rob and Virginia thoughtfully placed grab bars in the shower, so no need to worry about slipping on wet tile. They also supplied a broom and vacuum to quickly clean up any sand you may have tracked in from the beach. The Ilikai is situated between the Ala Wai yacht harbor and Duke Kahanamoku lagoon. It is a 10 minute walk (or less by bus) to Ala Moana Beach Park. As you walk past the lagoon and toward Waikiki beach, you will pass the Hale Koa at Fort DeRussy. They have a stand on the beach where you can rent just about any beach/sport equipment you might need. They also offer instruction for surfing and stand up paddle boarding. The Ilikai has its own pool and has 2 shops just off the lobby. There were complimentary newspapers at the bell desk every afternoon. And there is live entertainment offered downstairs on many evenings. Just open the sliding doors and listen to the music waft into the room. I can't recommend this condo enough. It is perfect for couples or families, especially those on a budget. Honolulu can be very expensive, and at a fraction of the price of a resort hotel room the Ilikai location makes it much more affordable. Rob and Virginia were great hosts, we look forward to staying here again."
