  • Good location, nice house

"Very well equipped house in a convenient location. Easy walk to a beach with a nice view of Waikiki and Diamondhead. Beach chairs, surfboards, kayak and surf shoes were provided and appreciated. The kitchen was very complete with everything including condiments and spices. Our request for a large pot for a low country boil was promptly met. Cheryl was very helpful with advice, hints and suggestions. The temperature was a lot warmer than we expected but we overcame the lack of A/C in two of the bedrooms by creative placement of fans so everyone slept comfortably. A word of warning, traffic can be very heavy even on the freeway so plan accordingly. All in all, a great place to stay and convenient to all the attractions on the south side of the island."

  • Nice, modest house

"My wife and I stayed a week for vacation, and then she went home and my co-worker moved in so we could work on a construction job. The house is great for both a vacation and as a 2 BDR alternative to a hotel, which are nearly nowhere to be found in Ewa/Kapolei. Darla and Sissy were helpful, even when we needed to extend our stay multiple times. Close to the beach without being on it, this modest little home worked just fine for us!"

  • Great Family Memories Created on Ewa Beach

"We took our 3 young adult daughters and their husbands with us to Oahu to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, and stayed in this house that had plenty of room for all of us. There were 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and a large great room with lots of comfortable seating. The huge kitchen was outstanding with lots of counter space, high end appliances, ample seating at counter as well as at a full dining table. In addition, we ate many meals on the first floor lanai where we watched the sun set from a table that fit all 8 of us. The kitchen cabinets were stocked with almost every pot, pan and small appliance you can imagine. We shopped at the Safeway down the street (about 6 minutes away) and had no problem preparing meals for 8 and enjoying them comfortably seated. The view of the ocean from the back of the house was gorgeous. This property is by far the nicest on the street, and there are some run down properties around it, but it felt like an oasis. The few locals that we came in contact with were very nice. There was pretty good surf and we took advantage of the full surfboard, the boogie boards and the kayak that are conveniently available in the garage. We also really appreciated the collection of water shoes (all 8 of us found ones to fit our feet!) left for use and HIGHLY RECOMMEND wearing them as there is some coral in the ocean at the location and it can be a bit rough on your feet. The description of the property by the owner is very thorough and if you read it carefully you will realize the many amenities that are there to enjoy. Communication with the property manager and Victoria (owner) before and during our stay was seamless. The only reason we are giving 4 stars and not 5 is because of the lack of air conditioning (with the exception of one unit in the one downstairs bedroom). We were aware that this was the case, and there was great effort to keep things cool with abundant ceiling fans, floor fans, opening doors, etc., but in August, we Californians still found it warmer than we would have liked....the good news is we had the option of going out the back door and cooling off in the ocean!"

  • Wonderful base to explore the Island

"We spent a lovely two weeks here and we did not want to leave! The home is in a great location, steps to the beach. and great for taking day trips around the Island. Honolulu is only 20 mins, the north shore 45 min and KoOlina (where the lagoons are) only 20 min. The house is great for families, we were travelling with our three kids (8, 5 and 11 months), we needed comfort and we got it. Upon arrival we were met with a clean house, highchair and crib (as per request) and a lovely welcome basket of fruit and chocolate (THANK YOU). Brenda, the manager was very attentive when we called about the broken outside shower door and had someone fix it straightway. My only complaint about the house would be no vacuum cleaner, it was hard to keep the sand out and I had to sweep it in the corners so my 11 month would not eat it. Being in a local community, slightly off the main tourist areas, there are less restaurants. If you like fast food then you are in heaven, but if not there are grocery stores nearby or drive to Honolulu or KoOlina. In Ewa we did try Fiesta (mexican grill), Teddy's bigger burger and ninja sushi (which were all very good). There is a shave ice place called Ewa seed co. that makes great shave ice. The kids loved it. The house is in a fairly quiet neighbourhood, they do have a noise bylaw saying residents need to be quiet by 10 pm, although they had an exception on new years eve as it felt like we were in a war zone. Also the clean up after new years was pretty poor, the beach was littered with firework debris which was a shame. We also had a neighbour who lost his dog a few times and always seemed to be when we were putting the kids to bed. But overall it was still a pretty peaceful place to be. We very much enjoyed our time here and would definitely consider returning in the future!"
